anyone 'occasionally' smoke a cigarette but don't go further than that?

For me, I will never have another cigarette. After 50 yrs of heavy smoking, I would be afraid that I would slowly start smoking more and more. For me, once I quit and went to vaping only, I have never had a craving to have a smoke. I vape with the smokers and it does not bother me at all. But habits are easy to get back into so I will never take the chance.

I just have no desire for a cigarette. I've had zero cravings. After 44 +/- years of heavy smoking, I am content without them. If I wasn't, I'm sure I'd go back to it. Would I have an occasional smoke? No, I see no reason to. I am actually more satisfied with vaping than I ever was with cigarettes, no idea why. I just feel so much better now, physically, that I wouldn't do anything that might change that.

I don't think it's a big deal to have one occasionally, if it doesn't lead you right back to the habit. Your health is more important than that. But once in a while, no reason to feel guilty, IMHO. Just like the vapers that enjoy a good cigar once in a while. I may do that further down the road. I did like a little cigar when I smoked, but rarely. But cigs, no, not for me.

Personally, I've fell off the wagon during a crazy stressful time in my life. I made the mistake of lowering to 6mg and not having something stronger to back it up. So I broke down and bought a pack, since then I've made sure to stock up on things and at least keep a bottle of higher nic strength around for stressful times.

I hate to admit, even though I've been smoke free for a year and a half, I still OCCASIONALLY smoke a cigarette. I vaped for 3 years before making a more 'permanent' switch, in the sense that I pretty much almost never smoke and don't buy cigarettes and refuse cigarettes when offered to me. But it's hard... a lot of my friends smoke and I work at a busy bar where smoking is allowed inside and boy oh boy do people smoke there. I'm always toting around my e-cig and I have converted a few friends, but every now and then when I am drunk, my friend will pass me their cig or offer me one and I will accept it. I usually don't but sometimes I do. I'm not sure why. I guess the alcohol but at the same time, I don't even really want it but I just take a puff or two and give it back, and sometimes when I am really drunk, I will smoke a whole one. And I don't even like it. But I still do. It's still better than how much I used to smoke, although I was always a light smoker, but I guess sometimes I just feel like it. Anyone else 'cheat' every once in a while? I even feel a little guilty but I tell myself its no big deal, I will never go back to smoking full time/only and enjoy vaping a lot more. I am a little irritated that my friends who pass me a cig know that I've quit but for some reason, I also kinda feel like they think my vaping is pretentious and that I secretly want to smoke, which I don't. I guess I just can't say no sometime?

There's no shame in it :D, as long as you actively turn them down on a regular basis, like you said it's ok to "cheat" every now and then. It's funny I actually posted the an almost IDENTICAL post to yours 2 days ago ( http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...6045-what-do-you-guys-miss-about-smoking.html ), I went drinking with friends, had a blast, vaped and it felt good, but everyone knows your capable of taking in 14x the normal amount of nicotine while drunk (probably because your drunk brain isn't noticing the bad affects lol), and anyone who disagrees that a real cig is heavenly after a few scotches hasn't properly drank or ever smoked.

Fun registered nurse fact: did you know your lungs are capable of evacuating all the tar/bad matter in 3-4 cigarettes per day? Biologically it's no biggie whatsoever, in fact science has proven that a little foreign matter (one cig) is actually good for lung health because it keeps your mucous moving. Mentally, you just have to make sure it's truly once in a blue moon, or longer, because we all know how crafty cigs can be.

- I've admitted to myself that I'll smoke a real one if destiny wants me too, but I won't buy them or try to be near them, in fact I haven't smoked in probably a solid month (and it was 1/4 of a cig that time) and I haven't even though of them. I look at it as a reward for making the healthy change, and struggling all the way down to 6mg juice.

***I don't want to hear anyones preaching, because I'm a tri-athalon champion, weight-lifter, and a registered nurse (almost a phys. asst. =D), I guarantee I'm healthier than you. Unless your an olympian, then I take it back.

One of my best girlfriends is a smoker. Over the course of the last month (my first month of as a vaper) I have taken a couple of puffs of her cigarettes here and there.

They usually end up making me feel a little nauseous and I LOVE that fact!!!! It's almost a renewed sense of pride when I do. I don't feel guilty about it at all.

I hadn't for a solid week but tried one of my roommates on his way out the door this morning more out of curiosity ... 2 puffs almost gagged wont be testing that out again. Honestly I am glad I did I have been having little cravings for an analog and that synched the fact I will be reaching for my mod rather than an analog from now on. Funny thing is on mynsecond go around on this it took me about six months to switch from analogs and doing both they both were good. Glad to see they taste awful to me now.

Maybe every couple of weeks I buy a single Hav-a-Tampa cigar (which is what I was smoking for the last 10 or so years), especially if I drive the Miata in to work (it's not my daily driver). It's tastes like poo but I like the fact that I can do that every so often but not have the urge to keep doing them like I used to before vaping.
