Hi Guys...
So I tried to open up my gear rta's builddeck.
I put a clapton coil in there and I was about to change the cotton but it got stuck and I can't open it up.
I tried the freezer method or the rubber gripper method. None works.
The only thing that happened was that my airflow control ring went out.
Suggestion any1 ?
Sorry for broken english btw.

Hi ilovejasonomg. Welcome to the ECF.

Sometimes it helps if you can put something into the Air Inlet Holes, like a Tiny Blue Screwdriver or a Small Allen Wrench, and then hold onto that as you Unscrew the Top Portion. Or Hold the Top and turn on the Screwdriver/Allen Wrench.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Might try watching a few good Youtube vids. You could google "youtube: wicking a clapton coil"
Or/and
could to try the ECF search function in upper right hand corner of this post. Could type in "wicking a clapton coil".
"The only thing that happened was that my airflow control ring went out." Please elaborate.

Do you think it is just stuck, too tight, or could your coil have gotten moved around and it jamming it up somehow? And to be clear you mean you can't open the tank not that the tank is stuck on mod, correct?
If it's just stuck, I'd go back to the rubber grip method myself. Use two rubber bands on different parts of tank, top and bottom, the airflow part is harder, get rubber band in spot where airflow does not move...
Good luck, I know that's not much help.

Those would help with a tank that is stuck together how? ;)

Try inserting a small screwdriver with a long shaft through the air flow slots from one side to the other. Holding the glass and top section with a wide piece of rubber or folded over latex kitchen glove (in case the tank breaks), use the screwdriver through the base like a T handle.

It should come apart, the problem with these little tanks is the lack of surface to get a good grip.

I'm not sure if you have a pair or two of locking pliers like vise-grips. You'll need the rubber too, in order protect the surface from the teeth of the vise-grips. Clamp down on opposing sides, don't clamp too much. Push/Pull/Rotate, or whatever to free the two pieces.

I had a Pharoh Mini tank at one point where a piece of thick cotton got between the smoke stack and the tank base. I ended up using vise-grips just to get enough leverage to rip the cap off. I marred the tank, not a fan of it anyway, probably made it's way to the garbage.

It either unscrewed or the OP busted it.

My fave has become the needle nose pliers in the kidney juice fill slots. Hold the bottom and it unscrews pretty easily.
Probably got it open 5 minutes after posting. ;)

I do the needle nose pliers all the time as well. I didn't look to see how the top cap was on the Gear RTA, so a screwdriver was the first thing that came to mind. ;)

Had a customer today with a Cleito 120 that sat for a year half full of juice... Screwdriver in the air slot got it apart for a quick flush. :D
