New Years I enjoyed the BEST flavored vape to date. I had beautiful clouds etc. and the flavor was intense (could taste it on my lips and everything...)

Today...I can't taste ANYTHING. I've put in a new o.4 (40-60w) cleito coil...I've primed it correctly (was shown how to at the vape shop)

I'm trying other juices...but I can't taste anything and this is where I get frustrated with vaping...it's like I'll have a great experience and then boom...change something [coil] and it goes to .......

Any advice. I'm on a iStick Pico with a clieto atomizer...thanks in advance. I just want to vape before bed...

Vapors tongue. Try gargling with salt water. Take warm tap water and add table salt to it. Remember to stir to dissolve.
Works for me.
Or put unflavored ejuice in your coil. either way you are looking to cleanse your palette.

:)

wow never heard of this...even after not vaping SINCE new years...that sucks. I'm truly just sitting here like WTF...

Let me try this...

I'm even getting a harsh hit to the back of my throat...I'm done trying for the night. Just making me more frustrated. I guess I'll try tomorrow...IDK...it's very disappointing.

Thanks for the suggestions tho.
Sometimes it lasted a few days for me, and like yourself, it was frustrating. I don't know your entire vape situation, but it will go away. Could be a number of things...

So you had a great vape on New Years and then after three days of not vaping, without changing anything with the hardware or juice, you had no flavor? If that is correct, it is not IMO vapers tounge. This has not happened to me in close to five years of vaping. Has this kind of thing happened to you before?

If you put the new coil in before you vaped today that is probably the issue.

Best of luck with it :thumb:

I haven't tried any rinsing, gargling or acidic drinks for vapers tongue yet, I just switch to unflavored for a few days and it goes away. I've had it happen a few times since I started vaping beginning of September. It's frustrating but has been solvable so far.

I suppose the vapors tongue is real because I have heard of it often in the 6 years I have been vaping, but personally it's never happened to me. Vaping takes time to figure out everything that can go wrong, so be patient. It could be this VT , so try what others have recommended or it could be slight things that could of went wrong with the tank, like a not so good coil, or the juice flow either opened to much or closed to much. Or the airflow not being adjusted just right.

Fortunately I have not had to deal with vapors tongue but it seems to be a very real thing. I could be wrong but I think it has something to do with the fact that I have always switched my flavors up throughout the day. I always have one menthol and several other flavors loaded up.

I have found some easy cures for vapers tongue first being cleansing of the palate with lemon flavored water or sorbet. Also other cures that have worked for me is eating a pickle or some fresh pineapple. I have also seen at the vape shop that they sell mints to cure vapers tongue but never tried them myself.

Good Luck and Vape On Safely!

I've never had VT in 6++ yrs of vaping.
I do use 7 or more toppers a day with different juices.

Fie restaurants use Sorbets between courses to cleanse the palate..
Good point.... I'm exactly the same and always have been. I literally vape around 6 set ups throughout the day, all with different flavors . But when I think of something like a drink, that doesn't seem to be the same. I use to drink a ton of coke every day, probably one per hour and never got accustomed to the flavor, every time, coke after coke and day after day, it always tasted the same...

I think I've read here somewhere in this forum that the nose is actually responsible for most of the sense of flavor and particularly the more subtle tones. Maybe a little head cold or congestion would have the affect you describe.
Guess I'm lucky to be close to the ocean in that respect.
It also may be equipment related and not a physical. Keep at it as I'm sure you'll find a solution.

I actually think this may be the case. I've been prescribed TWO nasal sprays by my PCP....oy vey. I dont' think I'm tasting anything quite right. My favorite Chinese food didn't even taste good tonight.

Thanks everyone for their help...I'm just sickly apparently. LOL

Clean out your sinuses with a neti pot, and then take a deep inhale of dark roasted coffee beans...it'll "reboot" your olfactory nerve. A good brushing of your tongue helps as well.

Don't have the neti pot tonight, and I think I've tried this and been a punk about it. But I am going to sniff some coffee beans and brush my tongue a little better. I'm probably congested which sucks. I'll have to ask a friend to take a puff this weekend and see if it's just me, and I'm HOPING it is. Or I'll go to the vape shop tomorrow and let them tell me. Either way, you've all been very helpful.

Wow, haven't heard of a neti in years.
Used to watch a late nite underground show, a guy comes on and shows chapter & verse just how it is done. Well,,,..
