I'm pretty new to vaping and I'm currently using a pair of Egos. Overall I'm satisfied with them but it didn't take me long to want more. The plan is to order up a Buzz unit this weekend as soon as I get paid. I saw other units I really liked but the ability to fine tune the voltage is what sold me on the Buzz.

First off, I see no reason not to order the batteries and charger offered on the site. If anyone has any ideas on this I'd like to hear 'em.

My real problem is that I'm not sure what fittings and adapters to order. I am only familiar with the 510 stuff on my egos and have nothing to compare that to. On the order page there are 4 selections for connector types but none make mention of adapters needed. On the page that lists the accessories there are only two connectors and the rest are adapters. In my mind I would prefer to avoid the use of adapters if possible but it is not mandatory.

Here is what I'm looking for in order of importance

vapor production/throat hit-->quality of flavor-->safety and reliability-->battery life

I would like a setup that has lots of high quality parts available(attys, carts, cartos) and stuff that is easy to fill and maintain. I realize this is a tall order but I am willing to sacrifice some of these requirements if necessary. Also, I am willing to order up pretty much whatever else I might need as long as it doesn't get too expensive.

Okay, now for some actual questions, Which setup should I go with and why?

Should I stick with the 510 stuff? I know I can get accessories anywhere but I'm hoping for a higher quality vape.

I was thinking of going with the 901 and also ordering the 510 end connector(not the adapter) but I just don't know.

Any advice would be welcome.

In your bushes, watching you undress
Think of it this way...

510 vapes warm (some feel it is hot), delivers most throat hit, stronger fuller flavor, lotsa vapor, and are easy to clean if needed.

801 vapes much cooler, less flavor, good amount of vapor, much less throat hit, can be a PITA to clean due to how deep the atty is.

901 vapes right in-between 510 warmth and 801 coolness, delivers steady good flavor (though not as rich or intense as 510, especially at 5v or 6v), good vapor, and still kinda PITA to clean.

I am a total 510 ...... I've used the others, and absolutely in every way hated 801s. Just nothing worked for me, not enough of anything. 801s and 201 are notoriously tough however.. it takes a bit to make 'em pop, 510s are a bit more finnicky.

Some feel that a 510 burns the flavor a bit in many juices, I have never experienced hits, but then again.. I'm not taking marathon hits for 10 seconds either. It heats up FAST, so be aware of that and you'll be fine. Remember, you can buy any which one you want, and buy a $12 adapter to convert to another style if you change your mind down the road.

1... yes to the batteries and charger Mike sells on the site. The UltraFires are great in the Buzz.

2... Since you are use to the 510 setup I would stick with that. You can get all sorts of different 510 atties in a wide range of ohms, so when paired with the VariVolt ability of the Buzz you can tune it to any type of hit you want. Also there are several types of 510 cartos on the market. With so much variation you should have no problem finding what is perfect for you.

Personally if I were you I would get the 510 top, use the atties and or cartos you already have for the Ego, play with the voltage then go from there. That is part of what makes the Buzz so great, you can tune it to the atties, cartos and juice you already have. You no longer have to find the perfect atty or carto to match the device, the device can be made to match the atty or carto.

Before the Buzz my preference was 801 atties. I bought my Buzz the day they came out, pretty much the hour they came out  At the time 901 was the only choice. Now I have used all sorts of 901s, 801s, 510s and more cartos than you can imagine on it and after 2.5 months I have settled into 510 cartos only on it, but since it's a 901 I have to use an adapter. Once the purple ones are ready I'll be getting one with a 510 connector and I have the feeling my poor silver 901 Buzz will get very little use after that.

FWIW there's my opinion :) No matter what connector you choose, you are going to love the Buzz!!!

Happy Vaping!!!

Ugg, this is how I hit my Egos. I feel like a total fiend! This is a big part of why I want more vapor and such. Keep in mind I am still trying to quit smoking and smoked my last one yesterday(I had some packs left over from a carton). The real vaping begins today:vapor:

What is the specific type of cartos you have been using? Ive had some probs with the ones I ordered. They were out of the ones with the removable end and sent me some with the ends glued on. They are a pain to fill and seem to waste a lot of precious juice. Also, after filling they gurgle up fluid into my mouth for a nastified flavor explosion that stays with me for a while and take time to start hitting right. I have tried to combat this by removing the glued end and inserting and emptied out regular cart. This allows me to fill by dripping down the side of the carto and also creates a buffer zone between me and the potent raw fluid. Downside is that it doesn't hold quite as much fluid and is kind of weird looking.

I figure I will go with the 510 stuff. It would be best to keep cost down as I have other bills to pay(including my final truck payment YAY!!). I might go ahead and order a 901 end to keep on hand for later experimentation.

Now I have to decide If I am willing to hold out for a black one. As an auto mechanic my white ego usually looks like it has spent the better part of the day up someones ..... Anodized aluminum should be easier to clean but it would be nice if it didn't look dirty between cleanings. Also, it might prove difficult to clean those knurled surfaces. I wonder if I can bribe mike to send one out for chrome plating for me *BLING*

With the Buzz you will be able to set your voltage to give you the it you want. Though if you are like me, most of my addiction turned out to be the act of smoking more than the nicotine so I still hit my devices like a fiend  I use low nic levels though ;)

I'm with mix on the cartos, the SLB 510 cartos are the best!! They are normally 3.0 ohms, but Isaac at IkenVape.com just got some in that he had SLB tweak for him to perform better. I should have those in a couple days to try them out. The Trueman aka Tru-Vapor 510s are also great!! They are 2.5 ohms so a bit stronger, but seem to be highly burn resistant. You can get those at VaporsEtc.com I never vape cartos over 4.5 volts, if that high. I try to stay lower since I vape like a feind and the are easy to burn if not kept wet.

The ones you have sound like Boge 510s. Some people have a lot of luck with those, but they have never done well for me.

This is a post I wrote that describes a dozen or so different types and brands of cartos
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...cts-maam-no-chit-chat-please.html#post1687258

I always remove the top cap and put a drip tip on my cartos, then remove it to drip down the side to fill.

Hope this helps!!! Happy Vaping!!!

Witchway,
I sent that last post before I saw yours. I hadn't even considered the drip tip. This looks and works way better! And yes I'm using the boge 510s, that was a pretty good call. At least I think that is what they are as I had attempted to order the boge soft caps. They sent me a free set of hard caps but didn't tell me exactly what they were.

Also, I was checking out those IKV 510s earlier and they looked pretty good in the review video. I might have to buy some. I hadn't yet heard of the Trueman carto but I'll keep those in mind. I'm going to check out your thread right now.

Everyone has been very helpful! I swear this is the friendliest and best overall forum I've ever been a part of.

I use the Trueman/Tru-Vapor cartos on the Ego, but SLBs on everything else, including my Buzz. I've been trying the E2s on the WetBox and they are great on it, but those cartos are still a work in progress so I don't recommend them yet.

This forum is the best!!!! I received so much help from here when I was new. I'm just happy to be able to give some back when I can. Heck I still get a lot of help from here :) Vaping is constantly evolving, everyday is something new. I think that is half of my enjoyment is testing, trying and learning about new things. Mike changed the game considerably when he came out with the Buzz though. I still use several devices, but mostly because I keep several flavors going at once. Others serve the purpose of being smaller and easier to take out in public or carry around the house in my pocket. When at my desk, which is a good amount of my time, the Buzz is my main vape. I can't wait to get a second one!!!

If you have questions, just ask, someone is bound to have some kind of answer :)

Happy Vaping!!
