i had some 12 and 18mg but it burned my throat i didnt like that, the 3mg has done me good im not craving i dont guess, its just that it taste so good im vaping like hell, but ive only craved a cig twice today but it went away...my thing is , is it normal to vape like crazy when you start because your so interested in all the different flavors , ive spent $60 on vape devices ( ELeaf Basic Kit tank shattered as i was unscrewing it and it cut my hand up, now i have a innokin t22 that i love) and ive spent like 150 on juice that will last me 2 months i hope in the last month...i guess if blowing "clouds" wasnt so fun maybe i would put it down haha...

Congratulations on beginning an infinitely better and healthier way of getting your nicotine. The healthy part is great, but it's also just so much more pleasant! I'm glad you're enjoying yourself.

It sounds to me like you are getting great advice from everyone here. If you get tired of constantly vaping, you should definitely increase your nicotine level. When I started vaping I had been smoking about a pack and a half of Marlboro LIghts a day. The first juices I bought were 12 mg. nicotine and I loved it, but I noticed I was constantly and almost desperately vaping. I was also still smoking two or three cigarettes a day. Regardless, I still felt better and my horrible cough went away. I mentioned to a vape shop owner that I vaped constantly and still needed a few cigs a day and he suggested I increase my nic to 16. Vaping at 16 mg. was much better than 12, but I could tell I needed more, so I went up to 18. It was only when I vaped 18 that I didn't want a cigarette any more. One year later, I still happily vape 18 mg. nicotine and I never smoke analog cigs. I do think I'll try to get down to 12 or so mg nicotine at some point, but I'm not in a hurry.

The moral of my story is to vape at whatever nic level keeps you off the analog cigs and gives you a satisfying experience!! Any time you have questions about vaping, bring them to ECF. There will always be a whole lot of people who want to help!!

I WAS a roughly 30cig a day smoker L&M Menthol 100s, Ive got 2 cigs left so starting tomorrow i will be strictly a vaper, i have 2 bottles 6mg and 3 bottles 3mg, i dont understand how much nicotine in a cig vs vapor....i got from zample a bottle of raspberry creme and i vaped a 4.5ML tank in like 5hours its 3mg nicotine it was just so tasty, am i better of smoking or vapeing due to nicotine content? im sure over time i wont vape as much, but a 4.5ML tank of 3mg juice that was like 12mg+ of nicotine in that tank? Im sorry haha i really dont understand how this stuff works out compared to a cig. i plan on moving to 0mg next month..i just dont wanna move up to 16mg juice because i vape to much it just taste so much better than a ashtray.
It is accepted in smoking research that on average one cigarette provide 1 mg of nicotine. It is not known for sure how much nicotine from juice human body is absorbing, but it looks like it is at least 50%. So, (if it is 50%) 4 ml tank with 3 mg juice provide 6 mg of nicotine, the same as 6 cigarettes.
But nicotine is of secondary concern, it is much less harmful (if harmful) than cigarette tar. So, vape, do not smoke and do not be afraid if consumed nicotine will be a bit higher than it was when you were smoker. Then, when smoking will be well behind you, you can decrease nicotine consumption to the level you feel comfortable with. Many vapers have done it rather easily. But many vapers are comfortable with any nicotine level.

I will add that we are all different in our needs and response to vaping. I started on 24 mg, vaping ~3 ml a day of it. Recently I accidentally got some 12 mg and found it quite satisfying, although I'm vaping closer to 4 ml a day. I also have a 6 mg mix for my subohm "cloud" tank, which I play with during the day. However, it's still been less than a year since I stopped smoking, and while I can certainly go for short periods, such as running to the grocery store without my mod, I do get antsy if I can't vape for several hours, such as while flying somewhere.

There is no right or wrong way with this. It's whatever works for you.

Pretty much the same here. I had smoked a pack a day for 35+ years, started vaping three years ago at 24 mg on an ego and Kanger t3S tanks. Went down to 18mg after 6 months. Then 18mg on same setup for 8 months or so, then down to 12mg. I moved to 6 mg for a few months and then my store ran out of everything except 18 + 24 mg and I wasn't doing DIY juice yet so I went back to 18 mg for a few months. Now I am doing DIY and am using 12mg on a dual coil tank and a Kayfun Lite. My goal is to get back to 6 mg but I am not ready yet. I vape a lot at 12 mg with the new setup because it tastes so good..all the more reason to switch back to 6 mg I think. The setup you use will make a difference in your nicotine levels as some give you more nic than others.

As other's have said, do what you need to do to stay off the cigs. I have a GF who is still using 24 mg after 2 years of vaping. Everyone is different.

...

I wouldn't worry about nicotine ... focus on getting off the smokes first.

...

I would advise not cutting down/out your nicotine too quickly.

I think these are Two Very Good Pieces of Advise for Anyone who has Recently made the Switch to e-Cigarettes.
