I don't know why the battery has a hole.

I only have manual batteries, and I have no idea why they put a hole in the centerpost.
I also wonder if the hole, being larger than the hole in some of taller cartos that have a smaller hole, create too airy of a draw?
That's strange. Manuals should have sealed off batteries although I have seen a few that have open batteries. It depends on where the hole that you're talking about is, though. I don't know whether you're talking about a hole beside the threads or the very center of the battery where you could stick a paperclip in and touch the actual battery... Either way, I don't like unsealed batteries because juice can get in there too easily and F up the battery really quick. If you're talking about a hole right next to the threads, that's for ease of draw.

Well, the manuals really are sealed, I think that even though there is a hole in the manuals, that the battery itself is sealed with slicon or silicone, I can't remember which. It was silisomething heheh :) , but I really think it's just a vestigual hole in my batteries :(.
I think it's supposed to be a very thin sealing layer tho, but yes Xanax, I was referring to the centerpost hole.

I wonder if it helps anything. Could it help keep the juice away from the centerpost surface itself so as to try to keep the centerpost contacts as dry as possible perhaps?

Well it may look like a hole. Before I bought my 510 manual kit I was under the impression that the batteries were sealed off. When it arrived I was pretty ...... when I saw what seemed like a hole in my battery. It looked like a hole but it actually wasn't, it was just a little reservoir, not an actual hole. Kind of like an indentation. Take a bright light to it and see if you can see all the way down. And yes, I think that the indentation keeps overflow in a certain spot for easy cleanup.

I had two non-sealed manuals which is confirmed by the two sealed manuals I have. There are definitely non-sealed manuals out there unless v1John and i are the only ones to have had them.

The non-sealed manuals are clearly not sealed even by visual inspection/comparison. I could also vape them by sucking on the ash cap.

This has been discussed in another thread. v1John, you are not imagining things.

...but yes, they are supposed to be sealed.

LOL that's what exactly happen to my original KR808's that I brought at the tobacco store near me. They were autos and when I did the refilling trick they totally crapped out on me (Thank god because I wouldn't have gotten my XL batteries that I totally LOVE!) I prefer manual's over autos because I got used to them. It takes a little to love them but you will once you see how much better they are.
