After much research I ordered an eGo C Twist along with a stardust cartomizer and an initial 15ml bottle of RY4 High Calibre from Altsmoke. I DON'T smoke. I like the occasional Ashton cigar but always regret it the next morning. Since we received the eGo C Twist today I keep swiping it from the fiancé who has been smoking for 35 years. Yeah...I'm addicted. I think a 2nd, or 3rd battery is inevitable and I'll need to find my own low grade juice. He's using the 18mg since he's a pack a day smoker. That's a little high for me but I'll admit it I think I like it just as much if not more than him.

I worry that this is exactly the "kind" of PV use that causes the outlawing of vaping in many municipalities. They are going to say that vaping draws people who have never smoked into the lair of nicotene addiction. IMHO, this puts us all at risk of the freedom to continue vaping in order to get off the cancer sticks......I'd sure hate to see it outlawed.

JohnnyVSGirl, you do realize that if you don't smoke, and are using any kind of vaping liquid that contains nicotine, that you risk becoming addicted to nicotine?

As I understand it, your fiance is trying to quit analog cigarettes, and is a smoker, so he is using 18% nicotine liquid and vaping in order to quit his analog cigarette habit, and that is a good thing.

But hopefully, the RY4 that you ordered for yourself is nicotine free?

I totally agree with racehorse.

I know how you feel about loving the Ecig even though you don't smoke... I used to smoke but that was six years ago. I never quit because I didn't like it but because it was expensive and would probably kill me one day. About six months ago I was going though some terrible stuff in my life and was incredibly stressed. I found that I could easily drink a bottle of wine a night. And then I discovered ecigs. I was able to de-stress without consuming alcohol or over eating. It was the hand to mouth thing that did it for me. Anyway, I've found that I love vaping and it's almost more of a hobby than anything else. Unfortunately I was pretty ignorant when I started and the kind I bought wasn't available in zero nicotine. I was using 1.2 and when I visited my brother, who was a heavy smoker, I got him started on ecigs. He has, since then, severely cut back on analogs and done a lot of Ecig research. He has opened my eyes to other brands of hardware and juice available and introduced me to this forum. I switched to sweet-vapes and bought the .6 and I'm happy to say that as of my next order I will be back to zero nicotine. I was concerned with my previous brands reducing flavor with reduced nicotine (tried 0 nic and couldn't taste it at all) but the juices from sweet-vapes don't suffer at all from reduced nic. I agree with everyone else that you should stick with 0 nic. No need to create a new addiction. I also feel like ecigs are no worse than drinking a pot of coffee every day. Don't get me wrong, I love my coffee and wouldn't give it up... But that's my point. Both substances are habit forming... The only difference is social stigma. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I definitely don't want to force mine on anyone else. But, for me, ecigs are a choice and you are free to choose it whether it is to help you quit smoking (great!) or for another reason.

The way I see it, people get tired of the taste of water, so they drink flavored water. Well, I'm tired of the taste of air...

It's kind of like chewing gum, except you can pretend to be a dragon. ;)

Kind of odd some of what Im reading in here. If you don't smoke you shouldn't vape? A non smoker is going to get vaping outlawed!!!! Lets string her up from the highest tree!
Shes of legal consenting age she has ever right to do as she pleases just we all do! Your worried someone will take away what you enjoy so you do it to someone else! I can agree its good advice for her to go with on nic juice. Its not this ladys problem we've let crooks and special interest over run our government. So I welcome you JonnyVsGirl.
Lets turn against the self serving politicians not each other!

On the one hand, I agree that someone who isn't addicted to nicotine shouldn't start vaping nicotine liquid. Then again, even with the widely available information about health risks related to smoking, new people still pick up the habit every day. I'm not really in a position to judge someone for starting the same habit I did, and when it comes down to it, I'd rather someone start vaping than have them start smoking. Then again (again)... I also don't want the vaping community to be seen as promoting vaping to nonsmokers... so, I don't know.

Ultimately, the OP is an adult and can make her own decisions.

Oh, and welcome to the forums! :)

Nicotine, alcohol, and caffeine are all drugs. They all have health affects. They are all legal at certain ages. I recognize the desire to use vaping as a tool to quit smoking. It is useful and a noble endeavor. However, I'm not going to criticize someone for vaping any more than I would criticize them for having a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. Especially if they are using zero nicotine or working their way toward zero nic.

I read that she occasionally likes an Ashton cigar, even though she doesn't smoke. IMO this is smoking. If vaping will keep her away from that cigar, then great. It is a new concept for her too, and she may get bored with it, who knows. Yes, I agree, she should try 0 nic and see if it works for her since she only has an Ashton cigar occasionally, but who knows what her occasional is. We aren't here to judge each other, we are here to help.
