I don't think I have saved any money.

If I stuck with a simple Ego style battery and bought only liquid and atomizers at the rate I need them, then yes, I would certainly be saving money. However it seems that I have at least 1-2 pieces of vape mail headed my way each week. I haven't done any math but I am positive I am spending more money than when I smoked analogs. Oh well though, it's a fun hobby and I love getting vape mail... it makes me feel special.

I don't know. After I started I saved a ton, but as the expanding and experimenting went on I was sure I was spending more. Once I sat down and figured out the cost of smoking vs vaping I was just under. I did have a period where I was trying to find a good device and trying to find a good juice (finding a good juice was my most expensive group of purchases in any given period of time) I went way over. But once I found my working combo (and a few select juices to fill in around my DIY) I was doing good. Now my biggest expense is buying stuff to give away, but I still stay well under the approx. $70 a week I would be spending on cigarettes. It will level out eventually, as long as you don't buy every new device that comes out.

Once you get the hang of what you need monthly its best to just order once a month to save on shipping costs. I only use 2 vendors and my one time order for my cartos and replacement heads and juice come to about 60 a month. Free shipping with the juice and the other shipping is only 2.25.

I use carto tanks and Kanger T3's . I have a Vamo and a Spinner.

Sounds good when you say it like that statis, now only if I could get the wife on that train.

For both of the above: Spreadsheet! It may seem like you're spending way more than you did on cigs. Try putting it all down on a spreadsheet. You may just surprise yourself. I have a spreadsheet sample that I give out to those who want it. If you would like, PM me your email address and I will email it to you.

Mr. Robin was as surprised as I was by how much I have saved. He never says a word about my vape mail now. Oh, and I do yell out every once in a while what that savings is! :D

I even do a cost comparison between just the e-liquid and cigs. It is in Excel format. I'm happy to share with anyone that wants it. The formulas are in there with sample data, just replace with your own.

I know I've spent more at this point I am sure. However, I now have a good device, a good deliver system set for MONTHS worth of usage, and juice that I like. Now I can cut down on my spending.

My advice to help this is to pace yourself with new things. I want to get into rebuilding attys and all that, but for the next three months I'm going to stick with what I have now to help offset the cost.

Do you have to pay a surcharge on your health insurance as a smoker? Mine is $60 per month.

Do you buy them by the pack or the carton? Mine are by the pack, one pack every 24 hours like clockwork, approximately $6 per day.

Do you have to pay a co-pay to go to the doctor? I have bronchitis several times a year (blamed on smoking by the doctor) and I have to medicate as well.

There are hidden costs to smoking that some people never think of. . .

Considering a pack of smokes is $16-18 here... anything vaping related is crazy cheap in comparison. Even the most expensive devices and the juice to go with it cost less than a months supply of cigs. That being said, I did overspend while looking for a good setup. Now that I have one, and is doing DIY with decreasing amounts of nicotine, the savings will be immense. I can probably vape for a month on half of what a pack of cigs cost me.

Adding years to your life from quitting analogs...Priceless
Go outside and take a deep breath...Priceless
Not having your clothes and breath stink from cigarettes...Priceless
Being able to know your going to enjoy grandchildren years down the road...Priceless
I can go on and on about priceless moments from quitting analogs so the money is immaterial if your looking at the bigger picture.
You can't take it with you after you die so spending it on vaping IMO is much better than giving my money to those nice fat cigarette companies so they can sit back on my yacht, sipping my champagne at my malibu mansion and laughing at me for being so stupid all those years I smoked and giving them my money they don't deserve.
The money spent on vaping and products IMO is well spent if you look further ahead than just tomorrow;)

I was a pack a day smoker....bought by the carton 3x a month. 3x$55 = $165 a month. 11 months analog free. 11x$165 = $1,815.00.

I know I've spent some $$$ on vaping because I've got 2 standard eGo 900's, 2 Apollo 900's, and 2 Apollo Twist 900's. I've also got several Kanger T3's, MT3, generic CE4's, 2 Kanger Pro Tanks....many replacement heads various ohms....and a dozen 30ml bottles of various juices.

No idea how much I've spent because I haven't bothered adding it up.....but I'm very confident I have NOT spent $1815.00 on it.

Here is an important question for those who believe they are not saving money Vaping as opposed to smoking analogs..... How much is a day of your life worth? A year?

Let's say you are worth a bit more than minimum wage.... let's say 10 bux an hour...
If you multiply that out, that is 80 bux a day, 400 a work week. about 1600 per work month. 20800 per year. Multiply that out over how many years you gained by quitting analogs. So if you successfully quit analogs, the amount of time you gained in life is priceless.

Edit: I got interrupted with work while I was drafting this.. So AlterUrEgo got it out before I did. :)
