Hi All,

I spent over 3-4 days (probably 10+ hours) reading everything I could on these forums. I decided to make the plunge into a E-cig as I'm currently cig free w/ patches for 4 days now.

I decided to go with the Ego-T kit ($89 can) from a Canadian retailer. I now see another online Canadian sites selling this for $50, Arghh I checked out 3 sites before making this purchase.

I also bought juice with them, just some RY4 30ml ($20). I felt like ALL Canadian retailers were trying to rip you off, not one offered 10ml nor any testers (5 5ml etc).

I decided to try over the border and ordered a huge kit, about 8 different flavors some tester kits, extra VG, extra bottles etc. I found that the american suppliers were offering WAY better prices on their juices, like about 75% less then Canadian retailers.

I'm about $200 in and now I worry after reading peoples stuff getting hung up at the boarder, and issues with the Ego-T. Can someone please relieve my stress and let me know that I made the right choices? One, with the EGO-T choice, two with ordering from the states? Not sure if its alot to ask, even some guidance for the future as their is SO much information here its almost overload.

Thank you!

Hello and welcome tabaccoiswacko;

I also purchased an Ego-T..... I am pleased with the performance and have not had any issues with it other than a atomizer failed. ..... A member here suggeted I use low resistance Boge cartomizers .... and I have had great luck with those...just remember to get a drip tip to go with them .... I made a few mistakes but learned from them. I hope you find a juice vendor who will sell samples...so many great flavours

Good Luck

From what I understand about shipping over the border (from US to CAN) is mostly juice is intercepted. Something with HC not liking the nicotine.

If your order hasn't been shipped yet try to get a hold of the vendor and ask that they "use a plain brown wrapper" (showing my age). HC & customs will be more likely to poke through anything that says "e-juice" or "e-cigarette" or the like.

When you get your 5 posts in the folks in the Canadian Forums would have better info for you. My info is second hand but like to keep an eye out for things like that.

It's true that there is less choice here in Canada, I bought a riva from liberty flights USA which was 30$ + 25$ shipping, still cheaper than anything I was able to find in Canada! Recently I have seen egos for around 50$ so I think as the market expands prices are getting more competitive.
For juice you should try jugheads.co
They are very nice, they have GOOD juice and offer lots of sizes. 3ml samples are 2$ but the more you buy the better the deal! 30ml is 13.99$
When you have enough posts you can come to the Canada forum and get the suppliers list. I agree it's a bit of a drag slogging through every website trying to find the best deal.

i shipped a ego-t and 2 bottles of ry4 to my uncle and it went into canada very easy. however that was over the holiday season so the onslaught of packages there is just no way they can check everything. i also didnt put on the label that there was juice in the package i simply wrote e-cig kit. it made it in easily. from a vendor, is different though i think.

Any suggestions on what strength to start with, I ordered a variety and a 120ml bottle of VG just incase. Mostly ordered 16mg strength wondering if you recommend to just order the 24mg and dilute it down? I think im going to wait before I purchase more to see what strength I like, I'm scared 16mg may be too low and no way to increase the strength.. so much to learn!

egoT is a good kit, although if you haven't already, get some cartomizers, they give better vapor/flavor than the egoT tanks/atomizers, and at least you'll be able to compare the various technologies.

i'd suggest either the 1.5ohm dual coil xl units (1.6ml of juice) or the boge 2.0 single coil. these pair very nicely with the 3.4/3.7 devices.

a cartomizer isn't really a flavor tester though, you do have to commit on average about 1.5 ml of juice to one to fill it, and can't really pour it out, just have to either vape it or flush it out with some water.

dripping atomizers are the best for testing flavors, drip 3 drops and vape to taste.

16/18 is a good starting place.

if you dilute with VG, make sure what your result is is not too thick for the device you're going to vape it through. i wouldn't go any lower than 60/40 (pg/vg) in an ego tank atomizer, won't wick well. ideally 70/30.

Could you link to "low resistance boge cart" and " drip tips" you talk about, I did not order these with my order. Joye eGO-T STEEL

Before I even light it up I'm gonna be very careful but would you avoid using it without these 2 items you talked about before?

Cartomizers

Drip Tips

I did a wee bit of shopping on this site.

BUT
There is a plethora of vendors out there so feel free to chime in if you feel there are better ecf

Sorry - like this Boge 510 Single Coil Cartomizer , are we sure it will fit into a Ego-T it says, YOU MUST USE EGO-T CARTS/ATOM's ... =(

Yes it will work.....the threads on the caromizer are male.....they thread very nicely into the Ego battery...
So you will have three parts:
the battery threads into the cartomizer and the drip tip fits on the end of the cartomizer.
Note: There is a fiber disk in the non-threaded end of the cartomizer....pull it out with like a paperclip and the drip tip fits in the cartomizer cylynder.

using the site Kami mentioned as a reference:

Smoktech 510 Dual Coil Mega LR Cartomizer 5 Pack - Clear With FREE 5ml Bottle Of Eliquid these are clear, i have a bunch of these and love them for being able to see how much liquid is left in the thing. however, they are more fragile than the metal ones, so you will probably want to also get an ego cone like: Other Parts i have a few of these and love them on my large ego battery.

these Smoktech 510 Dual Coil Mega LR Cartomizer 5 Pack - Black With FREE 5ml Bottle Of Eliquid are the same as above, just metal and covered with a black sticker, which i'm not a big fan of (the sticker), so would suggest to get the regular stainless unit that doesn't have the sticker (didn't see them on that site in the same 1.5ohm dual coil) but even with teh sticker they're fine.

one thing about the cone mentioned above, the plastic dual coils are a tad wider than the metal ones, so there's a chance that the cone above might be tight, you don't want that since you need a little room between the two surfaces for the air to get in through. however, if its too tight for the plastic ones, it might be perfect for the sticker ones, either way, if you're handy, you can just sand down a little of the outside edge though. just get two, you can keep one as is and modify the other, or have a spare, always good to have spares anyway :)

I've read a few hundred of these threads now, and it seems like most every newbie, myself included, has to get that first kit. No matter how well it works or doesn't, they get off the smokes, fall in love with the vaping and begin to really know what they are looking for. Some people seem to swear by the cartomizers, others the tanks. Of course the pros all seem to like dripping and mods - they gots the mad skills. In reality, it's all about the nicotine. After all, that's what we are addicted to. Addicts find ways to "get by". And, no matter which system you have on the way, you'll make it work. And, you will be free from analogs quicker than you can say, "God bless America". Oh, wait, I mean CANADA! : )

Good Luck and Happy Vaping...

I had the same apprehension when deciding on my first pv - I ultimately ended up with a Bloog Maxx Fusion, which I love - but I think everyone is different. After a couple of months now I've already bought a Knight Rider (US call it a Lavatube) and it's interesting to move away from something that doesn't feel like a cig. I don't think you should get too hung up on the pv, if your like me, you will probably just be amazed at the level of satisfaction you can get from something that isn't a cig and is a healthier, less stinky alternative. You will probably end up with a couple different pv's eventually. I actually think I will be ordering an ego plus tank system, just to try it out.

As for samplers Maple leaf vapes offers a small sampler 3 x 3ml for $5.00 - 3 pack 3ml samplers - this would probably be a good place to start.

For me the real cost is the cartos, as you can't really change flavours once you've used it - so you can rip through a bunch of cartos just trying juices and you may not end up liking them. I suggest that you order those at the same time you order juices. Good luck - and don't give up - so many of us have been successful, and for me it's not even about quitting smoking anymore - I genuinely enjoy vaping so much more than I ever did smoking.

Of course the pros all seem to like dripping and mods

Everyone moer or less likes dripping, its a quick way to taste new flavors and experiment with DIY, as well as a great way to deliver the flavor anytime. but, its not a practical solution (in my opinion) unless you're sitting down relaxing somewhere and want to interrupt what you're doing every minute.

you're not going to be dripping in the car while driving and wishing for a red light so you can refill, you're not going to be dripping while walking down the street and stopping every block to refill, etc. even when you ARE at home relaxing, it can be annoying always picking up that bottle.

if you ask for some wine, do you want the waiter to pour only a sip's worth into the glass? :)

cartomiser type of devices are great for when you've settled down on your taste experiements and want something reliable. that's not to say you can't experiment with them... i like cranberry, cherry, grape, menthol, apple, and i have no problems experimenting by mixing the flavors into a carto and being fairly sure i'll be able to finish whatever i mix up in there from my likes.

Well as a fellow canadian who also got an ego-t 2 months ago, I want to help...

The ego-t was good but I found after a week or 2, it started leaking once in a while... I vaped a lot so it drew too much liquid into the atomizer and I got leaky...

So to answer another major question you have: ANY "510" accessories will work (atomizer, cartomizer, tank etc)

I use an ego battery with a boge carto and drip tip and I also have a second one that uses a Dual Coil tank cartomizer set...

Both were bought from vaporgeek.com... a vendor here in Canada (BC) that is really nice to deal with...

Hope this helps
