Granted, I used to play the sales & be able to cut the price somewhat, but still..

Nothing like equally good DIY at a fraction of the price.. :thumb:

Better late than never, anyway...

I guess looking back, that could be said of anything:

Feel kind of stupid spending money on a lousy eGo..

Feel kind of stupid spending money on all those lousy blu's..

Feel kind of stupid spending money on all those cigs...

DIY is great if ya can make it the way ya like it. I was lucky in that I made a great tobacco recipe that me and my friends found vapable to replace our Marlboro. This helped us get off the smokes. I've since created many other great recipes. I have bought some pre-made juice just to see how they taste and to get an idea for some new recipes but I like my own better. Don't feel bad for trying them out, live and learn, it's the only way.

When most of us wanted to quit analogs, it didn't matter what device or juice we used.
Finding out later is better than giving up and going back to cigs.
Was fortunate to find ECF to read about stuff till my eyes were bleeding.
And learned so much more here, and then made a few changes and adjustments.
Better late than never, so they say.

I too could feel the same way BUT, it was stepping stones. If I hadn't dropped the dime (or grand...) I wouldn't have known. Starting with the 808 and cheep Chinese juice led me to believe this would indeed work, I'd been able to put a 30 year stinky habit behind me. I am resolved to a lifelong nic addiction... The starter stuff was just that, starter. I'd never really appreciate the ADV I created for ME if I hadn't tried all the other stuff.
... It's all good, enjoy the ride.

edit: VA meets every Thursday @ 7... Saint Joe's rectory, 2nd and Vine... see you there.

Being a tinkerer and a certified cheapo, I think I should look into this DIY liquid, but my main blocker is finding quality flavorings and nicotine. There's just so much out there now and I don't have the money to be trying everything. Time to peruse the forums, any recommendations to threads that helped you welcome.

Instead of feeling stupid over wasted money, perhaps consider it the dues paid in gaining your freedom from the smokes. You have simply progressed to another level on your vaping journey. I started out buying everything at a local B&M, and yes, I spent a bunch. On the other hand the employees there helped me along my path, and steered me to the forum here when I became really serious about being committed to vaping. "One even gave me a gentle nudge, occasionally asking, have you considered DIY?" When I was finally ready, I did my homework and made a decision, I knew that vaping was the only thing keeping me away from the cigs, and I wasn't going to let anyone take that away. The only sure way to insure this was to get a reasonable supply of nic and flavorings and learn how to use them. Many steps were taken in this progression. The step from Ego type batteries to a VV mod, playing with coils on an IGO-L RDA, trying a few mech mods, rebuilding my coils for my evods/ T3S's and Protanks. Finally, making my own juice. Each individual step learned helped not only improve the quality of my vape experience, but reduced the cost/ volume of expendable items. The satisfaction of becoming more and more self reliant far out ways any money that may have been squandered along the way, and frankly, there was no way to get to where I am now without having taken all the little steps. DIY was an intimidating step for me to take, but in the end it has been the biggest eye opener. I don't regret the money spent along the way though, it would have been spent on cigs or other things anyways...
