Hi All!

I have a Vision Stardust right now but I really want to switch over to a tank and cartomizer. I am tight on funds and right now looking at getting a Vivi Nova V3 just because it is a big bigger and maybe a little bit less of a hassle to refill than the Stardusts are. I used to think these things were great when I refilled with a sharp tip syringe, but then I started getting mixed and matched parts to rebuild from and it started getting hard to vape (even the drip tip was unscrewing the atty). Now I can only find blunt tip needles and it doesn't go down the side and I cant get out my remaining juice. Ahhhh, so never mind those! Then I started hearing about how much more flavorful the carto tanks are and now my Stardust starts to taste flat when I imagine how the carto tank will taste. I want flavor and vapor! I am super low on funds right now so that is another driving factor for me to just get a Vivi Nova. Stardusts are cheap and so are the replacable parts. Vivi Nova is just a bigger Stardust basically. So does anyone know of a good carto tank set up I can get that doesn't cost much and maybe later I can mod later? I may just end up getting a Vivi Nova on my next paycheck but if someone can suggest me something else I can start saving for it. i would really appreciate that. I guess it might help if I tell you I am using ego battery too. Thanks!

The Smoktech DCT tanks are quite affordable, with an ego battery I think that you are better off with a LR carto, like 1.5ohm. I like Sure Vapes, they seem like they have good pricing and also have free delivery. If you decide to try out a carto tank, keep in mind that there are pre punched carto's and ones that you have to punch yourself. Badatude has a great blog on this. Good luck, I know I love my carto tank!

Thanks Chiku!

I also saw that they have one for 6.49. Wow I can afford that! Happy happy!

I'll stick with prepunched to start off with. It probably isn't a lot more expense I can't imagine. Penny pincher here.

Sure Vapes has the Boge F16 tank for less than $10 and darn good prices on cartos. Either buy punched cartos or make sure to get a punch. There is a bit of a learning curve with punching your own, but nothing really too difficult.

The vivi nova's are essentially oversized clearomizers. If you enjoy using clearomizers, and need more juice capacity, more durability, and want something rebuildable ( replaceable heads) you will likely enjoy a vivi nova "tank".

I greatly prefer cartotanks. I had 4 vivi novas and have given them all away to new vapors as I did not care for their flavor production. I have a theory on why this is so, but I won't get into that here.
_____

Below are some links to smaller cartotanks that would look nice on an eGo battery:

Boge F-17 skinny tank -2.jpg Boge F17 tank

Boge F17 "skinny tank" from Vapor Beast - uses a Smoktech tank replacement carto. Looks to be made of polycarbonate so the tube could crack or melt with certain flavors. $ 8.00 http://www.vaporbeast.com/product_p/c47.htm?Click=391
__

(No pic, but looks to be the same as the polypro DCT tank from MVS)

SCT-v2 tank from Vapor Phoenix - uses a typical Smoktech tank replacement cartomizer, 3.5 ml capacity. Polypropylene tube safe for all flavors of juice without cracking. Available in a frost clear and frosted colors. Appears to be the same tank as the one below from MVS, but only comes with one carto. This seems like a great deal for $6.00. 510 SCT-V2 3.5ml Tank

Replacement 2.6-2.8 ohm single coil cartos with laser-slotted hole for any 45mm length cartotank. $2.00 each (cheaper if you buy 10 or more). Replacement Cartomizers 2.6-2.8ohm 510 SCT-V2

dctank.jpg Polypropylene DCT tanks

Polypropylene DCT Tank kit from My Vapor Store - Choose the slimmer 3.5 ml capacity, juice-safe polypropylene tube in frosted clear or frosted colors, with drip tip and 5- pack selection of single/dual coil cartomizers, ohm rating, number of laser-drilled holes. $21.35. 510 Pro DCTank Combo

IBTanked-on-Spinner.jpg IBTanked on Twist.jpg IBTanks on eGo's.

IBTanked pyrex tank kit - 2 ml capacity pyrex glass tank with stainless steel endcaps, combination drip tip/tank filling tool, the correct cartomizer needed for this tank, and a "thingy". $ 25.00. Additional cartomizers and drip tips available on the website.

If you don't have one of these, consider getting one for hiding the gap between the tank and the battery.

Wow I am ever so thankful to you for this list of perfect things to look at! You have actually helped me solidify my choice for the next paycheck. I guess the only thing I would question would be whether I should get dual or single coil cartos. The one website says not to. I heard that they are also not good with the ego batteries. I'll have to read that closer because they had a comparison blurb. Thanks!

Hi! I have all but one of the systems Baditude posted (in fact, one of the picture is of my set-up), but I have a couple more suggestion to add. I use carto tanks most of the time, but sometimes I don't feel like committing a whole tank to a flavor. I used to use Stardust-types, but they don't fit one my new battery. I have been really blown away by the Phoenix bottom coil "cartomizer" (it's actually more like a clearomizer) and the Vision Nano.

ETA: Here's a link. They are currently out of stock, but that shouldn't be for long. Gung Hay Fat Choy!: GotVapes™ Cartomizers : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

If you can swing it, get a 5-pack of both to try both a dual coil and a single coil out, if you wish. That way you will know for future purchases which one you prefer. If settling for one or the other, I recommend the single coil.

I did a comparison of the two in my blog in the below link. I also do a discussion on laser-drilled cartos vs punching your own on the same page, in addition to the method I prefer to fill a carto/cartotank.

I like this Boge a lot because of the clear tank and that it has metal caps, but I can't tell if it is polypropelyne or polycarbonate. I would love to get pyrex. Ugh, maybe I should just go ahead and spend the cash.
