So for the past two weeks I have been thinking about cigarettes constantly...I have even been dreaming about them. So I lit one yesterday.

It was really disappointing. I wasn't disappointed in myself really just in the cigarette itself. It tasted nasty and made my hands smell. So I took three light drags, almost choked and put it out. All the dreaming and coveting a real cigarette and it was a pretty anticlimactic experience.

However, it did end my almost constant lusting after a smoke... so thats good!

I just had to share :)

Hehe, that's a pretty common ordeal. To anyone just switching to vaping my suggestion would be this:

Don't touch a cigarette for 7 days. After 7 days if you are just dying for one, don't torture yourself - go ahead and have one. It will taste like ... and you'll be free of those constant cravings.

You just have to give your taste buds and system enough time without the analogs to be able to tell that they taste like dirt.

I dreamed that I was smoking a cig last night! For some reason the past few days I've been thinking about an analog. I caved in about a week into vapeing and it was horrible so I'm confussed why now 3 months in I'm dreaming of the blimping thing.

Hang in there Zen we can get over this damn it! :D
Been about 3 months for me too! I quit day one and never looked back and then it just hit me recently... But yes, we can do this!

had a similar dream about 3 months in, felt guilty about smoking even in a dream. I did take a half-drag from my brand of cig about 1 month in, never felt the need to do it again. Been vaping about 7 months now.

a week ago I saw a pack of Camels sitting on a table by the door in my sisters house, they were her friends. I was a Marlboro Reds smoker, and I still don't have cravings for those even being around my dad who still smokes my brand. But for some reason that Camel pack was calling to me, I picked it up and smelled it, took one out and smelled it closely too. LOL
Didn't light one up though, but even typing that kind of makes me want one.

at least vaping has seemed to make me permanently never want a marlboro red again. I think its whatever subliminal marketing Camel uses working on me, because I've used Camel snus a few times since starting vaping and seeing the Camel cigs my mind made the tingly-happy-crave feelings

I think I needed to light that cigarette to remind myself how gross it was. I think I have been focusing so much on nic levels and juices and all of the other things involved with using a pv that I was becoming hyper aware and had built up in my head that if I could only have a cigarette it would satiate this craving I was having. Instead it was nasty tasting ... it was harsh and it smelled bad. It was definitely psychological since it happened after 3 months...oh well, I 'm sure it's not the last time my head will play tricks on me

I've been vaping for a little over a month and have had a few smokes since then (I think three or four). Each time I was hoping it would taste like "..." but that wasn't the case for me <sigh>. Now it did seem more bland then the ole days. But since I enjoy vaping much more than smoking I'm not overly worried about it.

I dream about having a cigarette every so often - it's very strange, as if they're trying to reach beyond my consciousness and reel me back in. I used to keep cigs in a drawer out in the garage, and still find myself reaching for one out of habit sometimes. It's an amazingly powerful habit. I also tried a cigarette after I had been vaping for about 3 months, and was delighted to find it to be completely disgusting - that alone may be the greatest gift that the e-cig has given me. And having to sit next to a couple of guys who smelled like they bathed in cigarette smoke last night at a Denis Leary show made it even more evident that I can never go back - it was nasty.

I have only been vaping for about 2 1/2 months. My last real cigarette was while I was reading the instructions for the 510. Once I had my first vape, not a real cigarette since. In that 2 1/2 months I have dropped my nic from 26mg to 18mg. I have yet to get the craving for a real cigarette, but am thinking I need to give it a try just to see if its as bad as everyone is saying.

The cravings for an analog were never that bad for me, but I did try one after a month or so just out of curiosity. All I could taste was burning paper and put it out after I smoked about a 1/4 of it. I still have 2 full packs after over a year of vaping. Wonder what they taste like now?

chit????

Really near the mexican border.
When I was young and quit smoking for a while I had "hidden" a pack of cigarettes in the freezer thinking this would keep them fresh and it did until my brother wanted to taste one; opened it and put it back in the freezer opened and unprotected (basic menthol). Well about 14 months later, short on cash and still smoking I was in the freezer looking for icecream and found the basic menthols. So I was so happy I just didn't know how I was going to smoke for those next few days before payday.
I took it out of the freezer and blew off the ice took one out, smelled it really close like someone who hasn't smelled anything for a long time and went outside to light it.....One drag through and I coughed up my bladder both lungs, kidneys, liver and dropped my heart...they were so nasty.......

I started vaping about 10 months ago and found a pack I hid in the garage and wanted one badly.....you think I would have learned the first time ( i usually need reminding at least 2x in a 20year period......I thought I was never going to get that taste out of my mouth.......
Only vaping now, and when the analog wants hit....I go find a friend that has some buy one and go on from there.
