I finally gave in

After reading in many threads about how great the diamond batteries are, I finally broke down and ordered one. Purple XL.

I originally wanted to wait until they were available in manual, because I love my other manual batteries, especially my XL. Then I realized that I have no right to be biased against autos when I've never actually TRIED one. So I'm giving it a shot.

My only worry is that I'll mistake the improved performance of the diamond for an improved experience with autos over manuals. Ok, and that I'll continue to slack on cleaning my batteries and kill this one through neglect.

Here goes nothing! (Taps foot and begins to stalk the mailman)

Edit: Oh yeah, and if you're feeling bored, SnowDragon, I wouldn't mind a quick link for my lazy bum to videos on NOT killing autos and resetting the airflow sensor thing-a-ma-bob. Manuals are great for trial and error, but autos... yeah, don't want to risk it

:lol::lol::lol:......This is a funny post!

I really enjoy both types of batteries, they both serve my needs in one or the other. For instance, when I'm working in the yard or I am hip-high wearing waders fishing in the river an Auto Batt is perfect. I have an extra long lanyard and I don't have use the button.

I think you'll see that there is enough room in your vaping heart for both Autos and Manuals. The V2 Auto XL and Short batts along with the V2 Stealth Series XL and Short batts really are awesome.

As long as you always check your Cartos for any juice in the Air/Wick Tube, you shouldn't have any problems with your Auto Batts. I've used them for almost a year now, I only use juice and have never killed one yet.

Snow, you only mention the XL and Shorts here. Did you omit the Regulars for a reason, or do you not have any experience with them?

The reason I ask, is that I have a V2 Auto Regular Diamond and it's....ok. It's my only Auto, so it seems I definitely prefer the Manuals instead. The Diamond doesn't seem to give as strong a hit as some of my Manuals.

P.S. - Still eagerly awaiting the Diamond Manuals! :p

Okay, this brings up the possibility there's a problem with autos that I can fix. I use the v4l XL manual batteries. They work great. But I ordered one of the diamond autos to match a certain outfit.

Any sort of normal draw on the thing just didn't activate it. I'd have to suck on it like I was trying to get poison out of a snake bite to get it to turn on. So I laid it on a shelf and haven't touched it since.

Is there some way I can adjust the amount of draw required to activate that diamond XL long battery?

I bought a couple of king diamonds recently and one of them had that exact same problem, and I couldn't seem to fix it myself. I opened up a support ticket and V4L sent me a replacement a few days later that works perfectly.

Ms. BrittanyNI here's a video showing you how to fix the issue:

If that doesn't work, then fill out a ticket. :)

The Scootness sir (hope Snow sir doesn't mind my answering for him) it's because the regulars while still good, don't have the voltage to time ratio working for them like the xl's and shorties do. They're mid range on the draw and batt life, but they don't hold the above 4v output as well as either of the other two sizes....

Thank you ... it worked like a charm!

The diamond came today. (or yesterday, depending on when I hit the post button) Sadly, I have a killer sore throat and haven't been able to enjoy vaping as much today. I can say this, though: I'm not a huge fan of the primer puff, but it's not a terribly big deal. And the amount of vapor is blowing the standard and standard XL batts away. So I'd definitely recommend the diamonds, but my initial reaction is that I will be getting a manual diamond/stealth as soon as they're available. Like I said, though, today was definitely not the best day for me to be making sweeping statements that I intend to stand behind
