Hey folks,

So i got my eGo today. I have a question for you all. My first vape I started basically vaping like I would smoke. I took 7 good puffs in pretty quick succession. This caused me to nic OD. I know that's what it was cause I was dizzy, fast beating heart, and major nausea. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you guys think that my nic level is too high or is it just from vaping too fast? I was vaping the marlboro high that comes with the ego from cignot (it's 18mg) and I was a 1 1/2 pad smoking hand rolled filter less cigs.

Thanks!

The funny thing is that it seems there is no real correlation between what you smoked and what mg nicotine you'll need to use. Strange, hu? If you are getting od symptoms, then you are in fact od-ing.

You can order some lower mg juice, but in the mean time you can get some vg to water down the stuff you have. I found some at michaels arts/crafts store in with the cake decorating stuff (called wilton's glycerine) I also found some at walmart around the same area. Sometimes it's found in pharmacies near the rubbing alcohol and skin care/first aid stuff. You can get pg in places that sell stuff for taking care of livestock (they use it on sheep for the wool).

Might I recommend you get some 8mg juice to mix 50/50 with what you have and make 12mg stuff.

Good Luck!

Did you first blow out the primer that your atty is packaged with? The attys usually come with a greasy kind of feel to them, they need to be wiped down and then you put the threaded end on a paper towel and blow through the open end until nothing comes out on the paper towel.

Also, vaping is different than smoking. Direct lung hits can cause coughing, choking and a pretty quick high, lol! Some people prefer to direct inhale, but most draw like using a cigar...into the mouth first and then into the lungs, kind of like drinking a thick milkshake from a straw, slowly drawing to the count of 4 and then inhaling into the lungs.

The nic strength may be too high, but it is probably the method you're using...clean the atty, slow down and if you continue to feel nauseous, definitely try a lower strength nic.

Good Luck ~ L.

Yeah that's what I figured was going down. Ever since then I have just taken a few drags well spaced out as needed and it has been working great. The ego works like a champ and it is super easy to use. I have found that I don't care for throat hit at all. It chokes the crap out of me. Glad the juice I ordered is 80vg/20pg.

It is intense how close it actually feels to smoking and how I feel satisfied afterward. I still get this feeling like I'm missing something, but I'm sure I'm missing 3999 chemicals.

I did blow the primer out of my atomizer and wipe it down with paper towels. I think the nic strength is too high, so I figure I will just go grab some vg and dilute it a bit.

Thanks so much everybody for the reassurance.

I decided I am going to use this thread as a journal of sorts. To continue the thread from yesterday, I have had no troubles with my nic levels today. I woke up this morning and fed my daughter, then I sat down and had myself a nice vape and I felt great. I didn't feel like I was taking in too much or anything. It also seems like I am getting used to the th. I tried some good e-juice today (banana bread from madvapes) and I am starting to see why so many people have fun with vaping. it was awesome!

I smoked my last cigarette yesterday at 2:30. So I am almost to 2 days without smoking. I have to say that quitting so far is both easier and more difficult than I thought it would be. It has been easier in that I haven't felt the need to bite off everyone's head. I feel like my cravings are being satiated, but I also feel like I am craving something else. From my understanding that's the other addictive chemicals talking. But all in all I feel like I'm doing well. I actually feel like I can do this. I have had some bad cravings, but I just vape it up for a moment. That seems to kill of the cravings.

You sound like me (and a lot of us) when we first started. Congratulations! :)

The next month is gonna have its ups and downs...and not necessarily with regard to wanting a cigarette. I haven't really had the desire a smoke since I started vaping. However, your body is gonna go through some crazy things and you're going to think that it's vaping causing it (dizzyness, anxiety attacks, shortness of breath), but just keep in mind that you've been abusing your body by putting all sorts of nasty things in it for some time, and you're going to go through some rough patches (not feeling 'quite right') for a little while. It's the detox, so take heart. It gets better every day.

As for the nic OD, I started on the lowest dose (6mg's) from day one of vaping (and I was a PAD+ Camel Lights smoker for 16 years). I did this just because when I tried quitting smoking previously, I used the patch at the lowest dose and STILL went into nicotine OD. I wound up cutting it into little pieces and sticking that on my arm because the nicotine was just too intense. To be honest, I was scared of getting anything higher than 12mg's from the start of my vaping journey. I'm a tiny woman (5'3", 115), so maybe that's why. I dunno. All I know is that ODing on nicotine really, really sucks. But I digress...

On the 6mg juice, I went through three days of nic withdrawals that weren't anything like I'd dealt with before (and by that I mean, not as bad), and then I was fine. Don't be afraid to cut back on the nic levels right away, just be prepared to deal with some slight withdrawals.

Glad to see another vaper join our ranks! Keep us posted! :)
