I guess I dont know what i'm doing...

I'll try and make this as short as possible but i feel like i have to let my history be know.

Hello. My name is Aaron and i'm a vapie.

I started off with a joye 510 almost 2 years ago. Used then for about 4 months and found that cignot's ecco pure english toffee was the best liquid for me considering taste/vapor and throat hit. I fell back to the analogs. About 6 months later I found that the hardware had changed and I ended up getting an ego. Man I loved the amount of liquid it would hold and loved the big batteries. Still found that eco pure enflish toffee was the best for me. Fell back to the analogs again....

Now i'm back again. About a month and a half ago i purchased my very own Lavatube! Man i was fired up when i got it. Clearly i didnt read enough because then i saw the tanks! So now i have a lavatube with a couple different tanks. I am using the boggs 3 ohm cartomizers with it. Now that i had the hardware solid (so i thought) time to find some liquids i love.

Now i havent gone back to the eco pure because i know it will rock. I bet i have tried 30+ different liquids over the past month. Did i mention I am a heavy vapor? I really didnt smoke that much, the eye of the beholder, when it came to the analogs (less than a pack a day, ultra lights). However when i vap its all day long and if I am in a situation where i can use it, I do so. I feel as if the sweet liquids are best for me. I haven't found a Cinnamon i don't like yet. I'd say next i like the VY-4 from vaperite. I have tried sample packs from vaperite and johnson's creek.

Steeping... how long does this need to happen and what needs to happen? I open the bottle when i get it and leave the lid off for 3-5 days in the closed cabinet. Am I missing something?

So i dont keep going on here what am I doing wrong here? I am going through cartomizers 1 a day. Stuff ends up tasting burnt. Do i need to change some hardware? I generally stay between 3.9 v and 4.9v on the lava tube. I'm just not happy with the taste of 90% of the liquids. At the rate im going vaping is costing me more than analogs.

BTW i havent had an analog in 2 weeks today! I will not be going back to them. I would just love to get something figured out here so i can find a liquid or 4 i really like and not spend 50 bucks a week.

Thanks for any help, opinions and thoughts. I might add to this as i remember stuff...

Oh yeah bought a few stardust's, short wicks. I like the idea and the vap. Just like everyone else though the taste is a bit muted and i to clean them ever day in order not to get the burnt taste.

Well I would say you are vaping alot because your body is still craving all the other crap that's in cigs other than the nic. Also with the burnt taste you are burning your liquid. Try turning down the voltage or slow down on your hits. If you chain cape you are more likely to burn your juice and the only way to get rid of that taste is to clean your carto /atty

sounds like to me you are overvaping the cartos and there getting dry , i also am a heavy vaper and i keep a bottle in my pocket and top them off often, also alot of people expand the little holes in the cartos (make them Bigger ) so that the tank fills them more quickly, hope that helps , check out grimm green on you tube he has helped me out a bunch

You're either drying out your cartos, or you're using a carto with an ohm rating too low for the voltage you're using. Use this formula:

Amps=volts/ohms.

I generally like amps around 2 or so to produce the most juice. The higher the amps, the more heat. Too much heat and you burn your juice, your carto, your battery or all of the above.

Thanks for the help. I will check out grimm green. I use the comdom method to fill my carto's. I fill the cap about 3/4's then fill the tank. Any idea's how many drops after i fill the carto with the condom?

Until the mesh looks like a slurpy someone told me. Something to consider: the condom holds 1ml of liquid. Depending on the size of your carto, a siingle condom doesn't fill up the carto. I was laughed at by the guy at CCV yesterday when we were talking and I raised a similar question. My Smoketek 1.7ohm LRs hold almost 2ml of juice! So know the size of your carto and all will be golden (and you won't face ridicule  )

If you are using 3.0 ohm cartomizers in a tank and setting your volts between 3.9-4.9 you aren't using the wrong carto or the wrong volts. I use 3.0 ohm cartos on my Provari at 5 volts and have no problem. Are there little bubbles coming out of your carto into your tank every so often? You should be, if not, maybe you have a pressure lock. Try pumping some air into your tank. You didn't say what type of tank you are using so I'm flying alittle blind here. But if you have a pressure lock then your carto isn't getting the juice.

Well my first advice is to completely disregard the fact that you smoked ultra lights, it's a gimmick; you still get the same amount of smoke, nicotine, and bad stuff. Most people cover up those vent holes, suck harder, or smoke more.

Anyway, my bet would be that you've vaping your cartos dry, which will result in a burnt taste. You say you vape a lot, yet only go through one carto a day? That's fine if you're refilling that one all day, but if you're not, you're just burning polyfil. Or perhaps I'm reading that wrong. Do you mean tank cartos? That's another thing entirely. What resistance are your cartos? If you're going up to 4.9, you'd be well off to try a high resistance carto....something 3.0. Granted standard will still work, just not as well in my experience.

Anyway, steeping your juices, what you do depends on the juice, if it just needs time to blend, leave the cap on, and stick it somewhere cool and dark for a while. I only uncap my juices when they're really parfumy. I've only had to do this with juices from Madvapes. Otherwise, I just stick it somewhere cool and dark for a while. Pull it out to test it every now and then.

Other things to know: Juices can and will taste different at different voltages. Some juices burn easily at higher voltages; you have to keep your equipment especially wet. For example, when I'd dripping at 5-6 volts (my dripping sweet spot for most juices) I usually drip 4 drops, instead of 2, which I do when I've vaping anywhere from 3.5-4.5 (I never vape lower than 3.5). I also only get about half as many good hits at higher volts, even with more drops. The simple truth is that higher voltage vapes through juice faster than lower volts. So while a carto may have lasted you a while at lower voltage, like 3.7, at 4.9 you'll be going through a great deal more. Also, once you burn your cartos, that taste is never coming out; just toss it. A one time burn, might be why your juice always tastes burnt too.

So a recap, keep your equipment good and wet. Higher voltage goes through juice faster. Use high resistance gear if you're vaping in high volts, for best results. Some juice burns easily at higher volts. If you get a burnt taste, back off the voltage a few points and see. Keep in mind that VV vaping has a learning curve; you'll pick it up eventually.

Ah, wait, I just reread your post about the tanks and the 3.0 cartos. If you've still got juice in your tank, I'd bet your problem is that the cartos aren't priming properly, causing them to dry burn. Every once in a while, take a couple dry hits, to get the suction going. That should fix the problem. Or maybe you need a carto with bigger holes? It happens, and it does depend on the viscosity of your liquid. What PG/VG ratio are you using? The thicker the liquid, the bigger the carto holes you need.

The condom method works great as a time saver. You could get up for work, fill up 6 condoms a little over halfway, stuff the cartos in sorta quick, chuck them in your pocket. About 45 min. per carto. usage- wise. No topping off, no carrying bottles or syringes.

Did that for a year, now I got a side-fill cartotank and only fill a carto once in it's lifespan.
