I still think ecigs are much safer than regular cigs, and a couple months ago I got a joye510, this one came with a 24mg marlboro flavor. I had also ordered some 9mg marlboro flavor from a different vender.

Not knowing the effect it could have on me, I started with the 24mg one first, and it was a good feeling, I could get used to this. About a day later, I was getting a racing heartbeat and a feeling I didn't want to go to sleep. I didn't like this, so I quit doing it for a few days.

I then started with the 9mg marlbone nicotine strength. That same day I was getting the racing heartbeat again, so I haven't done them since. That was a couple months ago, I've been smoking marlboro lights during this time, but I'm gonna try the ecigs again, and I've ordered a couple flavors of 0mg nicotine juices, I'm just going to use that and if I have a craving, light up a marlboro.

I went with the 0mg because I read on this forum it may have been a reaction to too much nicotine. I also read it may be a reaction to the juice, and switching to a vegetable glycerin liquid will help that.

So my questions are:
What are some vendors that have good vegetable glycerin based liquid? (I've found propylene glycol, and ethylene glycol based, but not vegetable)?

How safe is vegetable glycerin based liquids, as opposed to propylene or ethylene glycol? And is this commonly used liquid?

well actually, PG is derived from natural gas believe it or not, and is used in alot of skin and topical products, like lotions and deodorants, etc and VG, is derived from vegetables, palm, coconut. (the food-grade type)

there is another type of VG, that is pharmicuetical-grade that ppl use, but some say it bothers their stomach.

I just the food-grade kind and mix my own liquids, along with alot of other ppl, who do the same. PG makes my throat raw/sore. It also made me very dehydrated and thirsty all of the time, cotton mouth, etc.

Vegetable Glycercin took care of all of that. I have no problems with VG, and actually like it better, because it produces more vapor than PG.

You can read more about VG here: http://www.morethanalive.com/Vegetable-Glycerin
And this is where I bought mine from : Miscellaneous Bulk Ingredients

hope that helps some

Well.. vegetable glycerin (VG) is a very common food additive, fairly non-toxic. VG is sold over the counter, and its biological pathway in the body is ultimately to convert to glucose. Its main purposes in e-cigs are 1) for people who are allergic to PG, and 2) VG makes for a slightly different viscosity of fluid and a bit more vapor than PG does. VG=glycerine (the word "vegetable" in front of it is essentially extraneous).

Ethylene glycol is antifreeze - we don't want that.

I'm surprised at the heart racing symptom. I'd check the Health forum down below for that, and see what that indicates - if anyone else has run across it. I wouldn't think any regular analog smoker would have an adverse reaction to 9 mg - it's a fairly low concentration really.

Overall, I'd say, give the 0 nic VG a try. If that doesn't give you the heart racing issue, then you can try some low nic VG to see if it was the nic that done did it.

You didn't indicate how many analogs you smoke in day average.
If you only smoked one or two, I guess vaping 9mg could give you that "racing" feeling. Did you actually verify your pulse rate? Nicotine affects the central nervious system, and sometimes this is mistaken for an increased heart rate. (I'm not recommending that you continue vaping above 0mg NIC juice, just stating that without more detailed information it's a bit tough to make any observations).....

I was a 2 pack a day Marlboro Red user, so 30mg juice keeps the cravings away for me.... I've rarely had issues going to sleep after days where I vaped constantly, but everyone reacts differently to nicotine.

Hope you get if figured out, and get off the analogs permanently!

No no, I got them mixed up, but I'm NOT smoking antifreeze! I had to do a big LOL on that one, I guess I didn't look at what I was typing well enough. I think it's propylene glycol I was inhaling.

As far as the racing heart goes, I found a sticky on one of these forums, topic 10 says about it, and that it may be a reaction to nicotine or the PG, so VG may be worth a try.
e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/3305-list-common-symptoms-when-e-smoking.html

By the way, it's Marlboro Light, about 10-20 cigs a day for 25 years, which is why I thought nicotine od may have had something to do with it, but I was surprised when it still happened with the 9mg lower nic juice.

So I ordered a number of 0 nicotine juices, and I'm just going to switch between regular cigs and ecigs. If I still get the racing heartbeat, then I'm gonna try the VG juices. I'll see how it goes.

I wouldn't consider that a "bad" reaction at all, and may be one of three possible things....

- a low tolerance for PG (high sensitivity or allergy to it), and trying VG may prove better for you.

- a matter of finding "your" personal nicotine level needed to satisfy your attempted replacement of tobacco.

- and the most common: that your feeling of "heart race" is nothing more than ANXIETY, and you will have this type of feeling for about a week or two following your PV start.

This is to be expected, as your not consuming all the OTHER "junk" that is produced by inhaling the chemicals and additives, as well as the byproducts of those combusted substances you would with tobacco cigarettes. So its only natural that you would feel a withdrawl symptom (anxiety at a minimum), from obstaining from those ingredients when you stop taking them.

Here's hoping you find what the cause actually is and alleviating it, just don't forget........ anytime you attempt to "replace" a habit of ANY kind (especially a long term use one), you're body, and mind, will need an adjustment period to transition of some sort whether physically or mentally.

The PV or e-cig is NOT a cure all or end all, and still requires some personal desire or goal oriented plan in attempting to replace that "old friend" you've come to depend on for so long. And that old friend is not going to want to let go so easily.
