he just really really needs a nick fix get that man an ego with 24mg quickly:D

The one thing that comes to mind is that one of the few times I tried to give up smoking myself, one of the many side effects were that I felt like criticizing a lot and I taught everyone was nasty, or stupid, or annoying, or doing something wrong.....at least for a while :)I felt like either crying or just smacking them across the face :) So I completely agree with you :) That men just needs an urgent large dose of nicotine me thinks :p

I don't put up with that kind of crap from people I don't know. I certainly don't put up with it from friends, facebook or face-to-face. Life has enough annoyances without putting up with loudmouths and blowhards. If a person doesn't seem to be getting it, I nuke them off my friends list, and by nuking them, I mean block, not just delete.
I am the same way, and that's why I don't have a lot of friends.

But the friends I do have are worth having.
And the friends I don't have, I don't miss for one second.
:)

He did make a couple more posts being a little more "supportive" but still says that I need to quit vaping because I've already quit smoking so I've won 90% of the battle, I just need to go all the way..... The main thing that bothered me was his die hard belief that it is bad and had done absolutely no research to backup his major rant about ecigs. All of his information was fueled by assumptions, not by facts.

On a more positive note, the petition got approx 1,500 signatures today. it's up to 10,100 now.

I can't for the life of me understand how ex-smokers who quit cold-turkey can get high and mighty about something like this.

There's someone in my circle kind of like this. She quit cold turkey many years ago. With her it's a resentment thing. The old "I had to suffer through it, so you should too" mentality.

This would be an argument my ex-smoker brother would have with me if he were actually talking to me, lol. He substituted his smoking habit with other forms of burning paper and leaves... But I'm not the type to throw stuff in other people's faces...

I still maintain that cold turkey folk are angry and jealous. I also really think that secretly they want to try but are afraid of what others will think or that they will be considered failures. I've quit before only to go back to smoking cigarettes. I was angry and jealous of smokers who kept smoking! This time I went a different route and am pretty gosh darned it all content.

They're angry and jealous because like you said they see we're keeping and eating our cake. It's not like they can go back before they suffered through quitting cold turkey and go our route, if they use an e-Cig, they will get addicted to nicotine again and all that suffering would've been for nothing! Next to bible thumpers, these guys are the worst in terms of ignorance and blind hate.

He could have played that a whole different way but no he was showing his ignorance and stupidity. As a friend he should have shown you support.

It has been shown that Nic is no worse than caffeine. I bet he drinks his coffee/soda everyday.

Its better to be addicted to just the nic than to fail and go back to smoking IMO. Cold turkey has a 90% failure rate long term. I cant see why he couldnt be happy for you. You are no longer taking in all those nasty chems.

Grats on your switch!

If somebody gives me that cr#p, my response would be something like:

I enjoy nicotine, and am not planning to quit my enjoyment of it. I just found a better delivery system. Has nothing to do with quitting anything.

Actually, that's what I told a friend who saw me using my new e-cig. He saw me and asked - are you quitting? I smiled and unapologetically gave him that same answer. Luckily in my case, even though he is an ex-smoker, he was not judgmental about it.
