just how bad the USPS is. My latest order was shipped on Tuesday, that evening, I checked the Tracking number on the USPS website and it said delivery date Dec. 6 (Thursday). Now I didn't get my hopes up too much, they can't get something shipped in my state to my that quickly, much less from across the country. Today the mail truck came and went, with no delivery. So I checked the website again. My package has just now reached the sorting center in Washington state. FOUR FREAKING DAYS AND IT HASN'T EVEN LEFT WASHINGTON STATE !!!!!!!!!!!

And the Expected delivery date is still December 6.

Knock on wood, I have not had one problem with USPS, ever. I've noticed more problems with Fed Ex and UPS over the past couple of years, though.

I just mailed something UPS, boy, when I checked the price I could have mailed via USPS I was kicking myself.

Hope people who complain about USPS don't mind paying more......with UPS......for about the same or worse service. Esp. if you want something to get from the east coast to the west coast......fast. You can't use ground, which is the cheapest, or it will take........forever.

I completely understand your frustration. I supposedly received my package yesterday...I didn't. I had to call them and put in a claim. This has happened to me before in June. Two packages they said delivered. They only found one a few days later. The other one never showed up. Out money and product, USPS would not reimburse me.

I have put in nine orders this time around with various vendors (not all vape related). Only two of those have shown relatively consistent tracking all the way through. Three I received in the mail with the tracking not having been updated until the day of delivery. The the last four I am waiting for have not shown a tracking update since they were accepted by the PO of origin (hoping to get those early next week).
It's the holiday season and they may be getting bogged down what with all the Christmas stuff starting to filter through the system.

I've been lucky with usps. From anywhere in the country it has been two days even when it's not priority.

I have been lucky with them too so far (knock on wood).
Packages arrive faster from the West Coast than from the East Coast, and First Class always arrives sooner than Priority (at least in my case).

It's not so much the long wait that's killing me, it's the fact that they give an extimated delivery time and basically have taken twice as long. I think my little pochuck post-office seems to take an extra day already, so even when they said Thursday I figured Friday at best. But now I'm hoping on Monday.

Hi guys, as an ex disgruntled postal worker I am happy to clarify some things for you. #1 tracking is relatively new to the Post Office, as in the last 18 months or less new. Yes there has been delivery confirmation but unknown fact... Delivery confirmation is JUST that, it's scanned at time of delivery, that is all.
#2 If a package is shipped without insurance if it is lost or damaged it is NOT COVERED. That is the beauty of cheaper shipping. It does happen but not as often as some think. You as the consumer must decide if the value of the package outweighs the cost of insurance which is pretty minimal considering.
#3 the USPS has the most inexpensive postage in the world. It cost 45 CENTS to send a 1 ounce or under letter thousands of miles!! If you don't believe me check any other country's postage rates!! I believe the only 1 even close is Australia.
#4 with the economy as it is postal workers are now required to do twice the work for 1/4 the respect, 1/2 the time, for less pay. I worked for the USPS for 8 years, the hubs has been with them since 96. With the new contract last year we EACH lost 10 hours a week AND $1 an hour. Together we lost about $2000 a month!! While the cost of living sky rocketed our pay did not... See above. Supervisors started threatening and giving the worst jobs to the hardest workers. There were times I worked until 6:30-7 at night and had to be back at work at 1-3am. That wasn't even Christmas time either. They are over worked, exausted, and under appreciated. Some days are 10-12 hour days. If they get sick or hurt they are WROTE up and treated by management terribly!! When my husband was a carrier he was threatened when a customer didn't get a check in the mail as if he has any control over that. Clerks are threatened and treated badly because if decisions management makes. Yes some clerks are crabby sometimes but you have no idea the hours they put in or the work they've done before they even open that window. Or that they haven't had a break in 6 hours. Or that a supervisor harasses them constantly trying to break their spirit. That's why I resigned last year, I couldn't take any more of a supervisor constantly harassing me only because I was a thin reasonably nice looking female and people liked me. She seriously wrote me up when I called in because my daughter had a seizure at school. Denied pre approved leave. Screamed at me because she didn't like my jeans. Yes I do regret that I allowed her the power over me to the point of resigning from a $25 an hour job but she broke me and I don't break easy. ( oooops sorry for my ramble). Just an FYI I am not the only 1 who has resigned in the last few years because of this very thing.
Last but not least... It's Christmas time, please have patience, they are doing the best that they can with what they have.

I am so sorry that happened to you. And, hubby is still going through it! Is there nothing you can do about it?

Either way, I'm glad you survived. And appreciate the info about tracking.

USPS has always been great in my area, which is pretty much rural. We get things in a timely manner and they go out from here quickly as long as they don't have to go through Denver. That seems to be a major hang-up point in the postal service. I know if something has to go through Denver, it's going to take a bit longer. I think they do a great job for the price we pay. We send out lots of tiny boxes and they haven't ever lost one. I think that's pretty amazing. Their tracking definitely leaves a lot to be desired and I hope they can get it together on that. Otherwise, I have no complaints.

I'll do just about anything to avoid using UPS. :glare:

I don't think there is. A lot of people/co-workers wanted me to file sexual harassment charges against her but none had the courage to even write a statement save 1 and they discounted his saying he wrote it for a friend. Everyone was so afraid of her. I knew my time was limited when within a 2 week period I'd been written up like 3 times for stupid stuff. When I passed an exam she didn't think I would pass in a much shorter time than I was given she was MAD. I could see it in her face. I was accused to co-workers of putting a package in a different container to maybe come back later for it except I WASNT EVEN THERE!! I just kept thinking not only can she fire me, she can totally ruin my life. I'll admit, I was just as scared of her as the others and it just made me madder.

I'm sorry you had such a bad time at work. Hopefully, you can chalk it up to experience, put it behind you and move on to better things.

Do you know how, exactly, the USPS handles mail to destinations that don't use postal (zip) codes? The reason I ask is that there is no postal code for the part of Ireland where I live and my Capella flavours were delayed by days because the USPS wouldn't accept the package without a postal code. Eventually, after phone calls to Capella and our own postal service, I had to make up a postal code to enable Capella despatch my order. According to the tracking website, my order left San Diego five days ago, but I don't know where it went from there. Hope it wasn't Denver.

Sadly overseas packages are not trackable unless they are sent Express mail and some countries don't even offer that. The problem is that once a package leave the borders of the US the recipients country takes over, it is no longer in USPS hands which is why you can't insure an over seas package.

I resigned almost a year ago and I am still bitter, I used to love my job. I have not looked for another because I am pretty gun shy but with the economy being what it is, it is looking like I will have no choice BUT to do so. :( Sadly I will never find another job making what I was there. UGH!!
