...to quit the analogues! My first kit & juices have been shipped, & I am eagerly awaiting their arrival.

Quitting in the past, I have always felt an impending sense of sadness, loss & resignation as I approach my designated 'D-day' This time (as I am about to go out & spend another $20US + on a packet of analogues) I am SO looking forward to ripping into my parcel & ditching the cancer-sticks for good!

I just KNOW that this time, unlike all the others, this is going to work for me in the long run. With my new E-cigs, there will be no reason for me to backslide!

I haven't decided whether it is better for someone to EXPECT to be able to succeed, or have no expectations. One thing I know for sure is that many people have quit regardless of what mindset they started with.

I think knowing it can work will help you push through the issues you have in the beginning, which you probably will. But not expecting much can lead to a real unexpected surprise that motivates you when you weren't expecting it.

Regardless, MAKE SURE to sign the petition linked in my signature below!!
Anyone can, and should sign, no matter what country they are in.
:)

I see you're in OZ. Good luck with your shipment. Australia is leading the world right now in "nanny-stateism" and they've already outlawed ecgs. Hopefully V4L was smart enough to mislabel the customs slip, or it will probably get confiscated.

Austrailia should serve as a warning to us in the US of what can happen if we're not proactive about keeping ecigs legal. If you haven't done so already, sign the petition.

I think starting vaping is like getting married. If you expect everything to be perfect, you're going to end up miserable. If, on the other hand, you expect to have to get used to the quirks of your new partner and know there will be bumps in the road, you will be much happier. E-cigs are quirky, temperamental, and take a while to get used to. Sometimes the first one you try won't work for you and you'll have to try a different one. Thankfully, there are plenty of PVs in the sea, and you'll find one that makes you very happy. :)

i felt the same way when i was ordering and waiting for mine to arrive. i quit my first week of vaping, not first day but still awesome in my opinion. so i wish you good luck and although you crave cigs its not physical just the mental part, which might be hardest part to get past, but its doable. so yeah wish you luck and glad you are on board.

Thanks :)

There are some online Aussie suppliers of E-cigs, which I may go to if my shipment is confiscated, but they don't have my weapon of choice - Kr808.

Still have fingers crossed, I have ordered tonnes of stuff (mostly art products) & the only thing that didnt get through was some handmade banana leaf papers - quarantine took them lol

I hope you get yours! That sucks about the ban, I didn't know that.

I'm glad you done your research, you will have a much better chance of being happy with your ecigs.

When I started, I figured there was no way it would replace my beloved cancer sticks. I was pleasantly surprised!

Now, it took me a couple of months to completely get off cigs, I think I'm in the minority on that one. That was only becaue I psyched myself out, though, I would tell you how, but I'm afraid you might do it, too, LOL!

Seriously, though, I have such an addictive personality, I get addicted to everything, so it was really, really hard for me. But I've tried everything on the market, and ecigs is the ONLY thing that worked. I've not had an analog since last November!

I really hate that you might not can get yours! What would happen to me if I sent you an ecig? Would I get in big trouble or would they just take if they discovered it?

Yes, I'm an addictive personality too bonnienclyde. I've quit a few times, I did like zyban & champix (chantix? in US) but picked up the habit again when out with friends who smoke. I can see myself vaping instead this time. BTW WELL DONE, very impressive on the quit :)

I didn't find a lot on it, but it appears that the 'import' of e-smoking devices is banned. I think if it was harshly enforced, & lots of orders were being confiscated, a lot of the bigger US suppliers would no longer be shipping to Aus, so here's hoping they get through! I don't think the shipper would get into any trouble, they would just take the parcel, & send me a letter lol.

Can't be REALLY well-enforced, as I mentioned, lots of aussies are still receiving their orders, & there are e-cig sellers in Aus-they are only selling 0% e-juice though.

Oh I love my postie, & I hope I will be seeing him a few more times this week :)

So I received my first kit, & have been trying out various flavours through my passthrough. So far (with my 1 hour of experience lol) vaping is every bit as good I thought it would be. I am suprised at how much like an analog this is (just much tastier), & also by how much TH I am getting - my analogs are pretty strong, but I did choke on that first puff! It only took a couple more to get used to the slow steady draw...

I'm sure there'll be a few trials & problems along the way, but I'm still convinced this will be my quit tool :D

I was that way too...so excited about my first order and actually looking forward to quittng! Just remember that vaping is *different* from smoking and as others have said, keep coming back here. This forum is a great support.

I had a pack a day habit for nearly 30 years and I was really ready to quit. I didn't even like smoking anymore, but the thought of giving it up saddened me because I loved it too. Very frustrating.

I've had maybe three or four ciggies since that first order a year ago :) for me, ecigs made quitting practically a joy!
