I have the Vivi Nova tank, and hate it. It leaks all the time. Can anyone suggest anything better?

I have been using the same vivi novas 2.5 version for months. I have had zero problems. Keep the heads cleaned and wet burn regularly and they work great. My heads last at least two months- I use one while the other dries out a bit. Just rebuilt my first head 2 days ago and that's just one more thing I don't have to buy.

same here. both my wife and I have Vivi Novas. No problems what-so-ever. easy to clean, maintain, and rebuild. Well worth the money, especially considering they come with 3 heads. If memory serves me, they were approx $15 each. Purchased 3 of them.

there are v1 nova and v2 novas (as long as their not the knock offs) ...... the coil heads can not be interchanged between the two or you WILL have this leaking issue. I've got 6 novas and 2 mini novas all v2 and have never had this problem. Either the OP is mixing the wrong coil heads or the supplier is sending the unit out with wrong heads. That staple will only cause it too leak more as it makes it imposible to seal where the top part of the nova comes in contact with the drip tip where it is one of two places on the nova where there needs to be sealed. The V1 heads and V2 heads are different lenghts, and different threading. Where the seal at the head threading is another leak point if wrong heads are being used.

The Vivi's are great. I'd suggest looking somewhere else to buy them, and not use staples on them.

I am going to eat my words to zapped and say it.

I AM BEGINNING TO HATE VIVI NOVAS WITH A PASSION.

They worked fine and I loved them over a month ago when I got my first one. But I just bought another one and some replacement heads two weeks ago and no matter what I do I am getting no flavor and a disgusting burnt taste on them all. Even on the tank I've been using. They leak and the heads are really inconsistent. I enjoy fiddling sometimes because I like to be more handy but I've done everything to fix this issue. Trimming and fluffing the wicks worked for a few puffs. I removed the white tube on the top of the head and that helped a little for about and hour but I'm now getting a disgusting burnt taste in my tobacco dedicated vivi nova and zero flavor in my dessert and beverage dedicated vivi nova.

And it's really irritating me because I've wasted mil after mil of my favorite and decently expensive high quality all day vapes with trying to figure this out.

I just loaded up a tank with my last freshly opened bottle of Gandalf and the other nova with my almost gone bottle of Zombie Apocalypse.

Vaping is a relaxing and enjoyable thing and this fiddling is stressing me to no end.

I just bought a bunch of heads and another nova so I don't have much novelty spending money so I did what I could and ordered a Ibtanked OCD REAL TANK and some cartos and a carto puncher. I refuse to put any more good juice in these pieces of junk and I'm just going to dump the nasty tank and vape on this basically FLAVORLESS tank until my carto tank arrives. Hopefully it gets here soon.

Does anyone have any idea on when they ship? I usually get my packages exactly three days after they ship and I'm hoping they arrive at least by wednesday! :|

Sorry for the rant. I'm really frustrated.

I have the Regular Nova V2 and the Mini Nova and have no problems with these,Yes I cried to no end when I first got one but I had to learn the little quirks and now it seem like tying shoes.I trim the wicks, clean every other day,Twist them and it seems like second nature. One thing to check if there are leaks is if the head is screwed on or overfilling where the juice is literally filled to the bottom of the head. Also the top cap if taken off enough will loosen the head I usually just reach in and turn the silicone cap just in case. And I have a feeling leaking comes from this. I dunno I love them and rarely have any issues,I get constant good vap.Everything else I use, seems to have issues for me.

I don't know if it's the v2.5 version or not, here's a better picture. It's the only one the shop sells ($17)

@elmattias - Thanks for the pic/suggestion. I don't know anything about cartomizers. My friend's first one was a cartomizer, and he said it was a pain because you had to be really careful not to prime it too much or too little or it would cause problems. Not sure of all the details but he got the Vivi after trying mine and said it was a lot easier to work with. Also, would that tank work on my eGo-C Twist?

I ran Novas (specifically the mini on a twist) for a sold two months. Yeah they worked, kept me off the cigs but yeah as soon as I got a DUD (which still sucked) I ditched um.

@ arcooke- I skimmed the thread but this may have already been pointed out. Seems in the above picture that the head may not be screwed down all the way. In my experiences this is the only thing that causes the Nova to leak; but I say that kinda tongue in cheek because when the top cap is unscrewed it can transfer torque to the silicone hat to the head and unscrew it just enough to start leaking.

I began to use a large flat-head screwdriver to tighten down the heads (indexing it on the two notches which allow the wick to pass into the tank).

Check the o-ring on the head; if it looks good grab a flat-head. Careful not to disturb the coil and crank that puppy down.

May solve your problem.

And, just a suggestion, try unscrewing that tank skirt a bit till it comes up and meets the bottom of the Nova then snug it. Will keep everything flush and IMO is a little more sturdy.

i have a vivi nova. i can make my coils to perfection using a non resistant and a resistant wire. very rarely have some dry hits but no bad or burning rubber taste. the thing with vivis just like any other atomizer or cartomizer out there is the juice. some devices run better with thin juice, some with medium to thick juice. i wish they can make some device that would be good for beginners because i feel many people try vaping but are put off by all kind of problems like leaking, wicking, burning etc etc etc.

and there are the options, 10000 types of atomizers with their 10000 types of resistance and names and versions. and batteries with different types of mah and numbers and sizes. people just want to drive a city car, not a damn spaceship. the majority of people just need a beginner set that JUST WORKS. when you buy a pack of cigarettes you don't get an instructions book with it. thats why many of my friends got back to the pack of cigarettes. and i see this to be a major issue

I have a vivi nova that I has given me a little grief as well, it sometimes leaks a little onto the battery and alot of times ill get a gurgeling sound when i draw on it for a couple drags, im wondering if this is a knock off or original and if changing the head might help, also a question on the heads, is the metal cone on top supposed to point up towards the drip tip or down toward the wic, mine came with them pointing up but i saw a pic of a new set where they were still sealed in plastic packageing (which mine were not in sealed bags) and they appeared to be pointing the other direction (toward the wic) or absent all together, I turned my 3.0 toward the wic and the leaking seems to have been reduced dramaticly, also when cleaning the last time i dropped the bottom half and the tube comming up from the bottom popped off, i pushed it back in and when i screwed the coil back on it just kinda spun but i held it and think i got it screwed in tight, this was when i turned the metal cone around and sence then the gurggling/leaking has been much less but still happens once in a while, here are some pix of the tank, Thanks for reading and PEACE B.

I'm using the boge f16 tank with their replacement boge f16 Lr cartos and they work superb on my vision spinner at 3.8 volts. I wanna take it higher but it's only a 1.6 ohm carto.not sure how high I can go without damaging it

Not very high; the filler in the carto may start to burn. I suggest you switch to Boge LR (2.0-2.4Ω) for your tank.

Sad to say but yours is a knock off...but from a semi-reputable brand. The real Vivi Novas are from Vision. Yours is from Smok (also known as Smoktech)

Edit: Here are some real ones:
Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette | myvaporstore

Scott, SmokTech is a very reputable manufacturer--they make great cartos and batteries. Their version of ViVi Nova has some flaws, but I do own one and there is nothing wrong with it--it works just as well (or as poorly) as the Vision Vivi.
