    Congrats Anna :thumb:

Anyone else have a "hug my vape" moment?

    Yep - when I hit 1 year smoke-free on Jan 22 2019.

There's no way I would've ever been able to stop smoking without vaping.

Other benefits I've found - I can walk up a steep 3km hill, and get my breath back almost instantly.

    Congratulations Anna! :toast:
I had a hug my vape moment recently. I was told about 2 years or so ago I was showing signs of COPD. I dual used for a while then finally quit the coffin nails and switched to only vaping. Last time I saw my pulmonologist he said my lungs were clear with no sign of COPD! I love my vape!

I feel very happy for you Anise!
I "smell" a conspiracy between you and Anna...you have waited for Woman's Day to bring us the good news:hubba:

Is that the same thing as SSDI? That’s what I’ve been on for a couple of years due to health. It’s been an interesting experience living on a fraction of what I was earning. Thank god I had a somewhat high paying career b4 getting ill. Unfortunately I still spend money like I was bringing in a paycheck but in the past year my mortgaged was paid off and I switched Rx insurance and save abt $200 a month. Plus renting a room in my house makes it less painful. I consider myself fortunate compared to so many who either don’t get approved or don’t receive much because of their previous salaries. And of course ALL THAT MONEY saved by not smoking lol! In my case I’d be better off financially if I had kept smoking :smokie:!!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday :vapor:xoxo

That's excellent Anna! I love to see how much switching to vaping helps people's health.
I apparently have high cholesterol, slightly, though I haven't exactly kept track and it means piss all to me. Considering my habits, I think genetics and vaping are the only thing keeping me alive. And coffee.

Ooops that was a typo. It actually was SSDI. I wound up fairly lucky somehow and ended up on the high end of the scale, but it was still entirely IMPOSSIBLE due to like, medical debt (my implants) and stuff. I emptied out my 401 K account and that kept us going for a few years. I'm glad my lack of pneumonia/instability due to the fire/implant situation is now OVER. Happily.

I will say, it's weird to like really not TRY to save money that much and be saving it. It's pleasant. SSDI is really a PITA, as soon as we save enough to buy a house I am gonna shove a LARGE chunk of my income in like, my 401 K, etc. I want a happy retirement.

    That's ....ing terrible Anna!

JK! Just wanted to shock you LOL! Good on you Anna! I quite smoking 100% 5 months ago and switched to vaping. I haven't felt this good in 20 years! Haven't had any tests yet bc I want to hit the 6 month mark b4 tests. But I can just FEEL the difference from smoking! Also, now I can smell 2nd hand smoke and even smokers when they enter a room. It's gross!
    Way to go Anna!

Just HAD to post this. I have had terrible cholesterol for many many years. It runs in my family, I take a medication that artificially raises cholesterol, and I smoked.

For about 11 years I was on cholesterol meds, it got so bad. I mean, I was not sky high, in fact my mother came to the doctor's appointment to be all like, "These numbers are not that bad, are they?"

My doc's response. "She is 29 and she smokes, so yes, they ARE that bad."

Anyway since about 4 years ago I have not taken meds for cholesterol (mainly because the one I was willing to use was too expensive on Medicare) and I also got no labs done ever (also, thanks to Medicare.....)

But I got my lab work back and I was fully expecting a panicked call from my doc saying I had to get back on my meds, stat.

Only not only am I healthy as a horse my liver, my kidneys (apparently). I am vitamin D deficient but I hear everyone is and I can just take a supplement. BUT my cholesterol numbers are like this:

    Total C. 165 (normal range 100 to 199)
HDL 54 (normal, greater than 39)
    LDL 93 (normal 0--99)
    Triglycerides 90 (normal 0-149)
    VLDL cholesterol 18 (5--40)

I have not had labs like this in so many years! I am thrilled to not have to add another med back in my regime.

I should add that the ONLY change I made was switching to vaping. I eat okay-- ISH but like I always have. I also exercise but I also did that when I smoked.

The only change was starting to vape. So I hugged my vapes today because vaping WORKS. Oh and also I vape MTL 18 mg nicotine, and use snus at work. So, I consume PLENTY of nic.

Anyone else have a "hug my vape" moment?

    Anna
