Today I just broke a personal 40 year record. For the first time in 40 years I have gone 24 hours with no tobacco.
I was concerned how I would make it this morning. A smoke and coffee is my normal breakfast. Now I can have a vape and coffee and get on with the day.
I know that e-cigs are not being pushed as a stop smoking device, but I can see that they are very good for those that really wish to stop or at least cut down on tobacco consumption.
This little 510 is a dream come true, even if the liquids do not taste exactly like good tobacco.

Congratulations!! Way to go!!!!:D I smoked for 33 years before finding the e-cig and this forum last month. They are a lifesaver! I tried everything on the market to quit, without success. While I haven't given up analogs completely, I've gone from 2 pks a day down to 1/2 pack. I now even reach over my analogs for my 510! The 510 is a dream!

Give it about a week, and you'll start smelling just how nasty people smell when they smoke analogs! That was enough for me to not even think about reaching for an analog.

When I smoked my pipe exclusively, I could smell how nasty cigarette smokers were. That kept me from wanting to smoke cigarettes, but when stresses built up I fell back onto the easy access of analogs. At least I refused to purchase that premade big tobacco garbage and selected some good RYO for my analogs. Not that having better analogs is anything to be proud of. I was just killing myself with a better quality of poison.

I smoked 32 years and the ecig saved my life. This should never be outlawed and if it is I hope the biggest black market tax free underworld develops for this product!

I would be most willing to help that black market along too. This 510 has become a life saver for me too. Almost 30 hours tobacco free and I am not craving analogs and my wife is much happier now that there are not butts and ashes all over the house. I will also be able to stop making sure that I have a lighter near by. I also figure the house will stay cleaner too since there will not be a layer of tar over everything. I also won't have to clean the windshield in my truck quite so often either. It is a win win win win all the way around.

I smoked colts for 7 years. I never liked cigarettes but I Inhaled every drag on a colt and not only do they last 5x longer but I'm sure the nicotine content is much higher as is the bad stuff. I tried to quit so many times but failed. Before I found e-cigs I tried the nicorette inhaler. It was useless and I think alot of people dont even know there is a difference. Anyway the first day I used my e-cig was the last day I smoked. Only 7 years but I'm convinced they are harder to find a substitute for then cigarettes. Without a doubt e-cigs saved my life and gave me something to be passionate about.

Congratulations, its a big step in the long road to breaking the addiction. I am a 22 year 1 to 1.5 pack(s) a day smoker and just today made it past morning coffee without an analog for the first time. I have only been vaping a little over a week but these small victories are important and worthy of celebration. Keep up the fight!

Way to go, Sarlen. You are right, these small victories give us strength to keep going, and should be celebrated.

I just made the switch recently myself, I bought my stepdad a starter kit and I took the day off of work today so I can track exactly when it gets to his mail box so I can call and guide him through, it worked for me and all the stories I have read on here about 20 year smokers breaking the habit so quickly gives me great hope that it will work for him to, I am hoping to direct him to these boards as soon as he gets on board.
