I knew I should have just done this from the start...

So i ordered a SS Vamo from HC and of course there's an issue with it (I don't even have it yet) but they just released a warning saying the spring is a faulty one. I really thought it was an OK MOD to get as my first and figured for ~$50 shipped i was getting a good deal, but now when it arrives I won't even be able to use it. I have decided I will return it or post it in the classifieds when it arrives as I don't like being the beta tester for company's products, they should do that before it arrives to me (*i know it's hard with how fast stuff is coming out but anyways).

I have decided if I'm getting a MOD i might as well just do it right the first time. I have been eying the Provari V2 and just want a few things confirmed before i pull the trigger on one today.

I emailed Provape and they said they have no plans to do a variable wattage upgrade/device anytime in the near future (posted a thread about this), but I wanted to make sure that the upgrade from v1 to v2 will hold the same with an upgrade from v2 to v3 or whatever the variable wattage upgrade will be whenever that is. I really don't care about variable wattage but i figure if im spending the money on one, why not at least have the option in the future. So if i get this v2 today:
WILL I BE ABLE TO KEEP THIS device FOR YEARS TO COME? WILL I BE ABLE TO SEND IT IN TO GET ITS INNARDS UPGRADED LIKE THE V1 - V2 UPGRADE??

I just do not want to order one, 6 months down the road have a variable wattage version/upgrade come out and have them say "NO UPGRADE, YOU HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE" or something.

basically i am just looking for assurance that if i order a Provari today or this week, it will serve me for many many years to come without having to upgrade to a completely new unit. sorry if this is redundant or if i've asked this before i just am very worried about throwing money away.

I did search and asked Provape but they have not responded yet and I just want to get this all taken care of so i can stop worrying about what device am going to be using. I want to get one, be happy and just vape, not worry about when it's going to break, when i'll need a new one, or how long it will last. Thanks and sorry for the long post.

There are two things that separate the ProVari from all other APVs: build quality and support. Not only is it one of if not the most consistent vape, but ProVape is probably the largest domestic (US) manufacturer of APVs. While the iHybrids might be just up to par with build quality, ProVape has been around for years and are willing to replace and repair individual parts.

I owned a Lavatube first and a Chrome L-Rider after. There is a remarkable difference in quality and consistency, but further, those APVs were made in China and are unfixable if they break down (or at least not worth it). The ProVari would probably get an endorsement from the SEALs.

I was on the fence as well considering price and looking towards lifespan. The biggest difference for me is each vape is so much more enjoyable.

It will last, and in case of issue, the most you will pay for a single part is between $10-$50. I bought the warranty and havent had to use it.

I got it the 27th. Best vaping decision I ever made.

I think your question about upgrading from V2 to a possible future V3 would best be asked of Provape. I thought I saw that someone had asked them that question recently and the answer was yes, but that is second hand, now third hand info.

You will be happy with the ProV I'm sure even without VW, the consistency is just amazing. I also started with a LavaTube and was happy with it, now I wouldn't be.

thanks guys, im sitting here waiting for Provape to reply to my inquiries about the upgrade. as soon as i hear it's a go and that i will be able to upgrade, i will probably pull the trigger. really not a huge fan of the new design of the v2.5, seems very gaudy and "china" haha wish they had kept their clean lines, and didn't go to some crazy over the top spiral design. *sigh, now i just have to decide:
satin silver or satin black....:vapor:

t...really not a huge fan of the new design of the v2.5, seems very gaudy and "china" haha wish they had kept their clean lines, and didn't go to some crazy over the top spiral design.

A company spokesman over on the Provape supplier's sub-forum said both v 2.0 and v 2.5 will be available. So if you don't care for the cosmetic change of v 2.5, version 2.0 will still be available.

Apparantly, one of the reasons for the cosmetic change was a recurrent issue with the Provape logo wearing off. The v 2.5 logo is engraved instead of painted.

For all intents and purposes, it doesn't appear that Provape will be coming out with a variable wattage device at least until summer, if at all. If trying to decide between buying a known product and waiting on an unknown product, I think it more prudent to get what is available now. The current v2 will continue to pass the test of time for what it is. You already stated variable wattage is not that big of a deal to you. Just get the Provari, dang it. :p
