Well from Christmas to mid February I made the jump to ecigs going from around 15-20 drum tobacco rollups a day (said roughly 1.4mg per rollup on pack iirc). Went from that a day to around 20 a week. 4 weeks ago I made the jump to go for it and kick them for good (gave in after about a week and bummed one off a work colleague which tasted horrid! ) and havnt touched one since

Now I'm im stil using my 18mg juices but also seem to be chain vaping my 24mg too. I can't seem to put the thing down. Is this normal? Feels like I'm stil not satisfied whatever but at the same time there's a voice in the back of my head saying dude slow down your just getting yourself more addicted.

Really confused if I should put the thing down and fight the cravings or up to 24/32mg and vape to my hearts content?

At the moment id say I'm vaping about 1ml of 18 and 1ml of 24 a day and probably a little bit more - using a vision spinner with a mini nova or vivi nova tank

Cheers

Hmmm I go through on average 5ml a day. Are you taking nice slow 5 second pulls on your nova? Hold it in your mouth for a bit then inhale.

The 'chain vaping' may slow down as your body gets used to this different way of getting nic. The nic gets absorbed more in the mouth and nasal passages. Try French inhaling, some juices may irritate though.

If you think you are chain vaping it would seem you should be going through more juice than that. I think of vaping as a nice relaxing slow contemplation of what the juice tastes like. Just take your time, slow down and as you draw the vapor in, think about the flavor. Hold it there and feel the flavor on your taste buds. Now inhale and blow it out.

I think that helps to relax you too. Hey, it's worth a try right? ;)

"I may as well breathe through my vape" ...

You mean there's another way to do it???!!!!

Seriously, if i'm low on nic or craving badly I will literally vape with every breath to get through it. Give yourself a lot of leeway while you are getting off cigarettes - yes you are transitioning your nicotine addiction but from peopl's experiences it seems that it is not that bad to decrease nic later on once you are over the cigarette cravings.

Also remember to overcome your natural impulse to hork down that vapour like you would a smoke when you are craving nicotine - gentle and steady gives you what you need ( its sort of a Zen thing ...)

When I first started vaping was 36 mg X 50+ ml per week. Generally normal amount is 3-5 ml per day. Realize also that tanks eat juice up quicker so you're very much on the low end. As long as you're not having any analog cravings you shouldn't be worried.
Now vaping 2 mg X 15 ml per week and the only reason I bought Spinners and Twists was so I could dial up the voltage thus giving a better and stronger hit with less frequent hits.

With me I don't think Im getting myself more addicted ...just the opposite. Used too I couldn't go 30 min with out a cigarette but I have no problem going hours without vaping. True when I am at home I vape like a chimney cause I like the taste and the act. But when Im at work and sometimes have to go up to 3 hours between breaks I seriously do not have any kind of cravings.

I am on 18 mg nicotine and have been from the beginning.

Vaping is different from smoking. You don't absorb nicotine in the same exact manner. It's difficult to describe in scientific terms, but when vaping, you adsorb more nicotine through your mouth than you do through your lungs. I do what is called a French inhale to absorb the nicotine in my mouth, and through my sinuses. It takes practice. Everyone has to go through a learning curve.

Cheers for the feedback, just Seems like instead of a cig every 45mins to an hour i just keep having a few puffs every few minutes (especially at work) where I used to go every hour now it's every time I leave the shop floor it's in my mouth grab a few puffs then back on my way to whatever I was doing ...

Realize as posted above vapor particles are too large to enter the bloodstream via the lungs. Vaped Nic enters via the mouth and nasal areas. Vaping is a far less efficient delivery system than smoking as the smoke/ nicotine can enter the bloodstream via the lungs. There was a study done and it truly illustrated the diff between delivery of nic via vaping versus smoking.

I'm glad I don't have to work those hours any longer.

I'm working a 14 hr shift right now. Last night on the same shift i went through 2 full size vivi novas, a mini vivi nova, 2 t2's and got home w/less than half of a t3. I vape 70/30 @ 18mg. I honestly feel that i'd rather vape 30ml a day than ever smoke a camel again.

I really wouldn't worry about that! I've found tanks use more juice than cartomisers but I've also found that over time, I've cut down. 2mls, even at the strength you're using, is still a really small amount compared to many others. That said, I've questioned my own usage as one day, I'd like to be on zero nic if I possibly can! As a result, I've been doing this http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/rachy_b/3788-one-month-monitoring-my-usage-lol.html . If it is a concern, give it a try. If you're anything like me, you'll surprise yourself! I feel like I chain-vape and yet I use a lot less than I realise!

As it stands, you're doing amazingly well! Try keeping the 24mg for dire emergencies/heavy cravings though and see if that helps you...x

holy crap!!!! so after two weeks with no analog smokes i stumble across this thread, find out I have been vapeing wrong. I have been just hitting it like a reg cig and have been fairly happy though i am going through 24 mg juice VERY fast. Read this try french inhale and omfg I am high. You know the kinda buzz you get when you suck down a full strength cig in 45 seconds because you are freezing your .... off cause you do not want to smoke in your house. ........Does this mean I should cut back to a lower nic lvl ????? I haven't got a headache yet but either way thanks guys again for helping the idiot vaper out (that would be me)

Vape as much as you need to keep off cigs!!!! And if you need, to kill the cravings, bump up the nic. I was on 36mg for a long time. Now on 30mg. Whenever I try to go much below 30 I'm not satisfied.

Do whatever you need to be satisfied. Vape on!!!!!

Edit: this reply meant for the OP. Still learning this tapatalk thing :)

Oh wow! Just tried the french inhale and got dizzy. I know how I'm loading up on nic when I won't be able to vape for a while from now on.

If you feel like your getting too much nic, just don't French inhale for a while. Sometimes you aren't able to use the French inhale technique (windy days when your outside) then just exhale through the nose after filling the mouth, same thing in reverse. ;)

These are tricks I've found since reading ECF. It is a great source of info and I'm just passing along what I've learned. I hope you all do the same when you come across others that are struggling. That's what it's all about......paying it forward :D
