I might have bought a battery that could be bad for my mech

I'm new to mechanical mods and I made an impulse buy on batteries, and I don't know if they were a good buy or a bad one. I bought Buy UltraFire Protected 18650 3.7V 2400mAh Lithium Batteries (2-Pack Grey), I know I should have talked to someone about buying them before I did but I didn't think about that at the time. Now my question is will this be a good battery for rebuildables and if they will be fine in a nemesis clone. Any advice about mechanicals or rebuildables would be very helpful.

Not good. Do not use these in any mod, mechanical or regulated.

You've got great info in the posts above mine. The first link in Warhawk's post to Baditute's blog has a list of good batteries you can use as a reference. Pay attention to the max amp limits. The lower the resistance you want to go with your builds the higher the amp limit you will need to stay safe :thumb:

I am using 3 different batteries in nemesis. Trustfire protected, Ultrafire orange an grey ICR , all 18350. No problems what so ever. I always check the resistance of rebuilded coil which is in my case at 1.3 ohms to 1.7 ohm and that means -> low current, about 3-4 Amps max. Whit a kick (8 dollars on fasttech) you get battery protection so no real need for imr batteries.

BUT

if you build coils with 1 ohm resistance or even lower, than the current is really high and the good-safe battery is crucial and a must have-use !!!

Yeah those would be good Cree flashlight batteries...NOT high current drain vaping rigs!

(9) Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected? By:Baditude

18650 Battery Test

LiIon 18650 battery comparison
About 1/2 way down

Odds are, those ____fire batts would be fine in 2ish amp PV unless counterfeit.
Some protection circuits trip around 3ish amps; not easy to find actual specs.
Protection circuit would likely trip in sub-ohm build.
I prefer high drain batts as do many APV users; but, I'm not afraid to use high mah batt in low amp PV.

Many people recommend low performance batts for cree flashlight applications. It is common for cree flashlights to suck several amps w/o any relief vent; so I'm baffled.

Hi Pregression,
According to this, NOT a good idea buying Ultrafire from DX.
