Granted, I'm a vaper! No cigs for me ever again.

But there IS one thing I miss, and it's my collection of Zippo lighters.

I used to collect them like I collect PVs and juice now.

I loved the "fing!" when it opened, the scraping of the flint on the wheel, the sound it made when lit in wind. I even loved the smell of the lighter fluid.

It's been almost half a year, and I haven't flicked or played with one yet. I can't do Zippo tricks anymore.

I look at mine every day. Some days I carry one. Like ALL of you, I will not have a need for it personally but someone sometime will need a light. To me there was nothing better than the first cup of coffee in the morning stitting on the porch and hearing the zing of the Zippo, as I always felt a Camel always tasted better when lit with a Zippo.

I only have one Zippo, but I understand what you mean Rocketpunk. Brought to mind a Zippo lookalike PV I saw on another thread or forum a while back. Someone said they were able to remove the guts and put it into their real Zippo shell. Here's a link to the Zip Ez, another one I found when I Googled. Might help relieve the Zippo-fits when they attack :w00t:

The one zippo I have I've had for over a decade. It started out as a dull, brownish color and eventually "polished" to a brighter, brass coloration due to always being in the coin pocket of my jeans.
I've lost it probably 3-4 times and always found it again. While it's long since dried up, I try to carry it once in a while as I've had it so long

I like that Zippo PV and at 15 bucks, I'd get one if I were one of you Zippo Fanatics.
Zippos never really appealed to me in a big way. I always wanted a nice one, just never spent for one.
I had a knock-off zippo that I got from a novelty shop once. I believe it said "-- the Police" or something?
Eh. I never filled it right or I'd fill it incorrectly. Something always went wrong with it. So I gave up.

I did JUST start collecting the Bic Art lighters. I really liked those. Some had Pin Ups, some Ed Hardy tats.
The only thing I miss about having a lighter on me is being able to light the candles at birthday parties.
My brother and I were always looked to whenever the cake candles had to be lit.

Gaaah, I'm not sure if I'm ready to disembowel my Zippos. It's not that I'd use them to smoke cigs ever again, it's just... a couple are heirlooms, some have quite a bit of history to them, and all have sentimental value. I guess I'll just put 'em in a box and store them. I swear, my attic is like the government warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Talk about ancient toys and things this man-child here just couldn't get rid of.

Toy Hunter, where are you?
