I thought I was a fairly intelligent gal, but I must be doing something wrong here.
I've been playing with the new GGTS, trying different attys and batteries.

1. Does it not take 18490? I thought I read that it did.

2. I have used a 18650 with a HV 306, which fits through the top cap with adjustable draw,
and a HV 901, which does not fit through the top cap.
I also tried 2 16340s and 2 123a batteries.
But I think I killed my attys. They were both vaping fine for a few puffs, then quit.
And they aren't working on any other PV either. A few puffs with each battery configuration, then nothing.

3. Neither of my HV 510 attys fit through the top cap either.
The only thing that seems to fit so far is the 306.
Can you only use the adjustable draw with 306 attys?

Sorry to sound so stupid. But I just got my GGTS yesterday and I'm still figuring it out.
Thanks for any help.

edited to add:
I've been unscrewing the bottom at the telescope part, putting the battery/batteries in
from the top, then screwing on the 510 connection part, then tightening the telescope part
until I feel resistance.
Am I tightening too much?

Thanks for the replies, I will try both suggestions.

While I'm asking questions tho', the bottom feels loose.
I have a rather tall battery in now, and if I tighten it enough that the bottom doesn't "wiggle", the button gets hot.
Read a couple of posts about having it to tight may cause the button to get hot, so I loosen it, but then the bottom wiggles.
Also read where some use the button without a spring, I don't see a spring on my button.

The spring is inside the button. There is also a spring on the post that the battery sits on. The inside of button may also be dirty and needs cleaned including the spring inside of it. Check all the stickies for links on the GG forum. Meantime::

Thanks for the suggestion, but since I haven't even used it 24 hours yet.
I'll look at it though.

Yeah I'd check out the button spring and make sure it's clean. When tightening the whole ggts with the battery inside don't over tighten it, the telescope and the bottom tube do have some play/movement and that's normal. If you over tighten it that may me causing the button to get hot because it's pushing the pin to push into the atomizer too much and causing a short.

Like Zoranth said...check is the knurled ring under the end cap.

If it's REALLY tight the o-ring gets flattened which constricts the opening. I back it off a good bit, put in a 901 through the hole, and then tighten the cap screw until it's snug. After you tighten it, slide a 510 and a 901....they'll fit just right.

Thanks, but that doesn't work. The only atty that will fit is a 306. It looks like others should fit, but they don't go through.

Sure sounds like you roasted those attys.....if you're going 7.4 volts you have to keep that atty wet, its too much voltage running through and they'll fry for sure......:)

Otherwise, you got great advice already.:thumb:
I was only using 1 18490, so I think I just overtightened and shorted them out.

I never use the battery spring. I think it hits harder :). Maybe it's just me and I'm delusional :)

No, you are correct, it hits harder with a solid post -- the spring is needed when using the stealth, though, as there is no telescoping (duh, I know:blush:).....:)

Do your attys SS painted or wrapped? I have had 1 painted atty not fit through and many wrapped cartos don't fit. Also if you take the nut off and o ring out of the top cap completely will your 510 attys fit through the hole?

I put a mic on several 901 end caps and the opening is 9.35mm.....the largest painted 901 atty I have is 9.15mm. Maybe he should measure the opening and see how wide it is. While he's at it put the dead attys on his multimeter and see if they are shorted out.

I appreciate all the help you guys are sending!
Also, forgive my ignorance.
Ok, my top cap from the top down:
there is the bronze piece that does not appear to screw off. Or at least I can't get it to.
Then the knurled piece that loosens and tightens, and then the steel piece.
Nothing appears to come off, I do not find an o-ring to take out.
Correction, I can see a black o-ring between the bronze piece and the steel it's attached it, but I can't get to it.
There is a small hole on one side of the bronze cap, do I need a small allen wrench or something to take that off?

The 901 appears painted, the two 510s are SS.

Thanks for the ideas Para, and maybe she should drag out a multimeter for the attys, but I'm thinking they're history because they are not working on any other PV either.
