Just Do It...You know You can...Just throw that freezer pack in the trash. Let It Go Andria :) !

Why on EARTH would I do that, when I know exactly how I'd respond to it? You're out of your mind if you think I'm going to risk my 4 months smoke-free just because YOU think I should.

I can only speak from experience but I just topped off my first smoke free year! If money is an issue then this should be a no brained. vaping IS CHEAPER!!! I used to burn up a truck payment every month and now my habit costs $30 a month. $600 or $30. You will feel better, smell better and have whiter teeth. Food tastes better too. I hope you can make the right decision for yourself and it works out for you. Good luck!

"Smoking is Dead...vaping is the Future... and the Future is Now"

For me after 40 years of smoking I quit using a cheap ego 650 kit. I had tried many many times to quit using nic gum patches losenges useless ecig cigalikes etc and they'd all fail because they could never replace the sensation of picking up a cig and inhailing some nicotine urge satisfying smoke. All these replacement methods always fail because of fear. It's that fear that makes a cig smoker feel uncomfortable when the pack is getting low and we dont have that extra pack on reserve. The fear that makes us always keep an eye on how many we have left that makes us go get more packs. I cant tell you how many times I'd find myself getting dressed in the middle of the night to run to whatever gas station was still open to buy more cigarettes. That same fear is why nobody quits cold turkey using gum etc because most folks try a piece of gum and end up spitting it out and lighting up a cigarette instead...why...because we never got rid of the cigarettes while we were trying the gums patches and other nrt's.

For me, I finally made up my mind that cigarettes were killing me. I was rolling my own to save money, which btw is a huge pita in itself, and using about a pound of tobacco a month. So I finally made up my mind to quit when I found using a cheap ego kit, that I had discovered 30mg juice was actually and totally satisfying the nic urge and replacing the hand held habit and 'smoke' sensation. I quit cigs cold turkey and never looked back. IMNSHO...The biggest mistake people are making IS trying to "dual use" quit is just that...keeping cigarettes in the equation guarantees failure and keeps the "fear" focused on having cigs around all the time instead of accepting e-cigs as the viable replacement. Get rid of the damn cigarettes once and for all !

I had a box of cig tubes and a bag of tobacco and just knew if I kept it around I would have it to fall back on if I ever ran out of juice... That damn "fear" thing again.

Best defense. Fix that "Fear thing" and always make sure you have spare juice on hand. Screw more cigs, just buy more "JUICE" !

I WAS FREE... FINALLY FREE OF CIGARETTES after four decades of enjoying them and now 15 months vaping. It didnt take long at all to find out that cigarette smoke actually smells BAD. In fact I now find the smell somewhat "repulsive". I can smell it on people who smoke too. Its disgusting heh heh

I replaced the stupid cig addiction "Fear" with having plenty of 30mg juice on hand. For me it too was expensive at twenty bucks per 30ml bottle but well worth it compared to buying tobacco. I took up DIY juiuce making and am now saving a ton of cash compared to the old cig smoking habit which was killing me and stinking up the house.

hth,
Jon

ps...you can do it...I know you can...take the step...throw away any and all cigs in the house....

Why would you want Andria to fail?

What would possess you to think you know what is better for her, than she does?

You do realize how ANTZ-esque that sort of attitude is?

we were like Ocelot...get them out of the house..that first three days we had three a day...the next three days..one with coffee and gave all of it away to friends the next day. Done, out of site out of mind, no turning back now.

I'd found a baggie with some of mine in the freezer two months or so in..straight to the trash and it to the curb *lol*

I also vaped like a dragon. I read posts by new people concerned that they are vaping too much, but I vaped non-stop. I figured if I felt sick it was too much.

Once I found a flavor I could tolerate, and actually liked, I would keep my RDA busy, until the point I was in a Vape Haze.

Now that I have found Tiramisu, it is all good. It hits that spot, that I was missing with analogs. Not higher in nic, same old VG/PG levels, but the flavor to smooth throat hit ratio, is awesome for me.

Thank you. My sentiments exactly. :thumb:

People are different. From what I have read in various forums it runs about 50/50: those who do better not having cigarettes in the house and those who keep a pack in reserve to feel in control or keep panic at bay. What works for you is all that matters.

I moved mine to the garage. There is a full pack and a pack missing 5 or 6 cigarettes.
There is no way I am going out in the cold to get one!

In all fairness, I don't think that's what he wants at all. He sounds like someone who is still "high," and in disbelief/shock, on having kicked a 40 years habit. I sure as hell don't want you to fail and didn't see it as him wanting you to fail when reading his post, though I had to reread the beginning twice to make sure. I think he misread your post and got overenthusiastic rallying you on to continued success. If you can get past the misunderstanding, it is a good post, IMHO. You leave those cigs right where they are. I had some lying around for a bit, then stuck them under the faucet and ripped them to shreds. I know me. Gotta do what works for you.

This is EVENTUALLY true, but I've been operating in the red since I started, and haven't quite got there yet. I have high hopes, though.

Did you not just say yesterday that you would break even in 2025? (This from another thread where he was poking fun at himself so please, no one take offense.)

Thank you Flamingo Tutu...

I am kind if at a loss for words right now. Its the first time I've been accused of being antz-esque whattta hell wow what a disconnect.

This thread began with someone who was afraid they'd fail at quitting cigs because of fear their vape gear wasnt enough or would break. The op was concerned about whether to buy more batteries and backup gear or more cigarettes, and that led to folks giving good advice on having backup gear and will power to finally quit etc.

Some feel the best way to really quit is to finally have the will power to do so and not go back. Some are afraid to let go of their cigs and have success at that, but some of these same people end up failing eventually because they have the alternative within reach and fall victim to temptation.

My post was an attempt to address that "fear factor", which can be overcome by transferring the "supply on hand" worries or "fear factor" to being mindful of what e-liquids and gear one has on hand INSTEAD of whether or not they have some cigarettes stashed away.

My poking a little tease at AndriaD was just that and not meant to offend her. The post was just an attempt to use a little humor to begin what I had thought was a fairly thorough explaination of the "fear factor" will power situation which I was trying to convey. It was speaking to everyone reading the thread including the op, and I still stand behind what I wrote, and yes I was trying to rally folks on to total zero cigarettes sucess. I just wish it hadnt been so horribly misunderstood as to think it was somehow encouraging failure. I mean ... ???

Everyone thank you today was a good day I've only had 7 ciggs I spent all day vaping. Morning and night are my challenge I will win even if I have to keep a pack around to kill the panic I will , ya'll are inspirational

If vaping is falling short of satisfying and makes you feel like lighting a cigarette, I suggest maybe trying a higher nic strength e-liquid. In any event, I wish you all the best and good luck.

ps... I hope I can read into this that question in your thread title. You have made that choice to vape instead of smoke...right ?

There is no way I could ever buy enough vape gear to equal what I spent on cigarettes in the past. It doesn't matter anyway - I broke more than even when I quit smoking.

Me too.
Forty years of smoking two or more packs a day for most of those decades would buy a nice little e-cig store startup operation :)

So, ... you are saying he is incoherent with giddyness, and it's not some sort of "I know better than you" egotism?
