I have been through three stores and six multimeters.. half of which were analogue. I love the analogue ones better, because they settle on a reading, immediately. The digital ones just jump around, and I can't get a proper reading.. on the resistance of the leads OR the atomizers. It goes from .1 to 136 ohms.. back to 20.. up to 40, then 67, then 2.3.... and so on. Every digital one. Every time. Prices ranged from five to twenty five dollars.

I'm so ...... off. I even called ahead to this one store, where they assured me that their analog meters read to tenths of an ohm. I drove all the ... way across town, just to find this multimeter was just like every other one.... only read to single ohms. BLARGH!!!!

I need a good, reliable multimeter, preferably analogue, that measures to at LEAST a tenth of one ohm. I cannot find one in town, nor online.

I like Sperry's:

Sperry DM6400 Digital Multimeter 8 Function Manual Range: Compare Prices, View Price History and Read Reviews at Nextag

It will measure about anything you need electronically. You are correct about the problems with measuring resistance accurately, and that is largely what you are paying for with a good multimeter. Mine reads accurately to one ppd, and is very steady. Sperry makes a bunch of models, some more some less expensive, depending on your other needs. Mine is a 5300, but I don't think that model is made anymore. the 6400 is the closest I found in their current line. Good for almost all household and electronic applications.

Analog multimeters are notorious for huge errors in measuring resistance. Good solid digital is the only way to fly.
