The more I vape the more I realize that the whole unit, atomizers, Batts, are just throw away.
I agree with sun. make a mod! and you will see how little money the manufactures spend on the quality of their batteries.

Tone, If we can get everyone to understand that THEY ARE just that
throw aways and basically disposables, then so much of the panic many go thru,, may settle down

It is not that I do not think that we are all spending very hard earned money on these things, however, they are made w/ no quality controls other than quantity controls. How many can these manufactors get out in a day!!

Its about time someone started making low cost mods, I just can't quite justify £100 on a Screwdriver but then again I am poor and my eyesight is too crap to make my own mod! I would love to buy a Screwdriver penstyle, I would have to dig up the cash for that!!

I'v been vaping for 3 weeks with a 901 I got from truevapor.com. I had smoked 1 + packs a day for 35 years. I havent had a "real" cig. since. My advice is forget about cart size and how many drops = a cig (I carry a 2ml. bottle in my coin pocket and top off when needed) A dse 901 is reailable and parts are easy to get and cheap. A 30ml bottle of nic. lasts me over 2 weeks, I also get a new att. when I order, so thats $30 and change for 2+weeks. You can't go wrong.

Right now I am in the middle of making a mod (juicebox mod) and when it is all said and done it will cost me like 20 bucks. that is with lithium battery and charger, and of course my time
$3.87 for box
$4-$5 for batt(s)
$8-$13 for charger
$1.87 for switch
battery connector I have but you can get for a few bucks at radio shack(please see thread on this)

That sounds certainly reasonable! I do have a soldering iron handy (and crap at soldering hehe) but I gotta have a go!!

I have a USB passthrough with...wait for it...2000mah Kensington USB battery pack!! 5 volts is not much lower than 6 volts! I have been smoking the penstyle for coming up to a year and I know its a bloody good smoker. Its also quite cheap when compared to other less capable smokers.

I don't know what was up with your penstyle!

Basically you and I agree, other than the switch part and the fact that the pass-throughs are made so cheap that you better have 3 of them. You need more power than 95% of the models provide and we both provided more power just in a different manner. I do think if you tried a manual switch, you would find you get even more throat hit. You may be right about the flavor being better with the 801 vs the 901 atomizer. Although I thought the draw on the 801 was too much like a straw. I wouldn't mind getting the 801 adaptor for the SD and try that out.
