I am making a parallel 18650 with sony ctv5 mosfet hammond 1590gbk and a antivandal button and master on/off
I have studied quite thoroughly And getting no closer to picking one.
from my understanding if i get a mosfet with a gate threshold voltage of 2.5v and a gate breakdown of 20v then when my batteries are @ 2.5 or less the mosfet will not fire acting like a low voltage safety (please correct me if i am wrong)
These are 4 i am looking at right now

Manufacturer Part #: AUIRFSL8409
Manufacturer:International Rectifier

Manufacturer Part #: IXFH150N17T2
Manufacturer:IXYS

Manufacturer Part #: CSD19535KCS
Manufacturer:Texas Instruments

The most common used imo but under powered compared to the others above
Manufacturer Part #: IRFZ44
Manufacturer:Vishay Semiconductors

please if you could help me understand which one to chose and why
I am looking for the best if you have a favorite please add it and the reason(s) why you went with that one

First thing first - a MOSFET will turn on below Vgs(th), but only partially, and it will generate more heat
AUIRFSL8409 - looks good except for Vgs(th): 2.2-3.9V - fine if you were to build a series mod, but definitely not for parallel
IXFH150N17T2 - Rds(on) is a bit high and, again, Vgs(th) is too high @ 2.5-4.5V
CSD19535KCS - this should work - Vgs(th) is 2.7V, Vgs is 20V, Vds is 100V, Id is 130-150A, and Rds(on) is 3.1mΩ

The most common MOSFET I've seen used for box mods is the International Rectifier IRLB3034PBF

K3nn0Q thank you
It is good to have a full description of the vgs (th)

And from what i have looked up the Irlb3034pbf is the irfz44 by a different manufacturer same data sheet
And i love texas instruments products so that is a plus i can get a mosfet from a company i love and support a company that is from my state

I have thumbed through the "how to choose a mosfet" and that is how i came up with those four but i will go through it again a lil closer
