Increasing nic is a good start. What are you doing for flavors? When I started I just found a flavor I liked and vaped that all the time. I'd end up craving when I was vaping "tobacco" all day without a real one. Now I'm on coffees and teas (sometimes tobacco or mint) in the morning, drinks or fruits through the day, and then usually end up with bakery and desserts in the evening. I save some of my juices for a bedtime treat.

Right now I only have tobacco flavour. It sort of tastes sweet, not necessarily the same as an analogue. To be honest changing over all those liquids all the time sounds a bit overwhelming. Also I am noticing that when I change the cartridge it's a little wet with fluid on the outside...normal or leaking?

In 2 weeks of vaping I never quite made it all the way. I have a regular smoke or two at night. I picked up my first smoke at the age of 9 and became a regular at 11 or 12 I don't remember the day I became addicted but I know by 7th grade the idea of going to school without my smokes was insane! 7th grade was about 26 years ago so one smoke a day for me is nothing short of a miracle! Going to work without a pack smokes is nothing short of a miracle. If you told me a few weeks ago before I heard of this e-cig business that I would go a day with only one smoke I would have thought you were nuts! On weekends I drink and have a few regular ones alternating with vaping.

Right now I'm SOL, long story but I waiting on a new PV. I've been smoking all weekend. I'm not gonna lie I love smoking, but within hours I realized I love vaping more! Anyway my breathing feels like garbage right now I can't wait until this PV gets here!

I love smoking, too, NewportLights. The health effects were getting to me. I was worried about needing an oxygen tank in ten more years so I found e cigs.

I didn't/haven't quit overnight like some people but I am thrilled to say that after 2 1/2 months I am down to 5 cigs a day and think I just won't buy anymore when this pack is gone. That is down from 40 or more cigs a day. I have been stress free because of vaping. I actually vape 24mg in the morning, 18mg and 24 mg in the afternoon and have some 12mg to vape in the evenings. I pretty much vape constantly.

You will find your sweet spot and be able to overcome those urges to smoke!!! You are doing great, OP!!!!!!

Most of us have multiple cartos, tanks, etc holding different juices and simply change the delivery device when we want to vape a diff flavor.

"Tank" (atomizer+ cartridge) systems that come with the eGo C and eGo T are the outdated tank system and prone to leaks. Most move on to cartomizers, clearomizers or tanks. You'll always get some sort of juice on the battery from condensation in the airway.
One more thing, I am a little worried about overdosing. All of the symptoms are so similar to withdrawal...how can you really tell?
If you had nic OD you'd be experiencing headaches. Realize nicotine from smoking is a far more efficient delivery system than vaping. Analog smoke particles are small enuff to enter the blood stream via the lungs whereas vapor particles are too large to enter the blood stream via the lungs- most vapor absorption occurs in the mouth and nasal area.

So at the moment I have 5 Cartridges and two Ego C units. I think I might need a case to take everything along with me because it's a little awkward at the moment. What recommendations would you have for me?

I would normally reco cartomizers- either the Smok Tech 1.7 ohms XL single coil or the Boge 2.0 ohms BUT Smok Tech and Boge are having quality issues and it's hit and miss- some are great while others last 1-2 days and have a foul taste. I would suggest the Mini Vivi Nova 2.0 ml rebuildable- come with 3 heads (coil+ wick) that can be cheaply and easily replaced. When the head burns out simply unscrew the old head out and screw in new head- takes 10 secs. My heads are lasting about 4 weeks BUT I wash the heads every few days. I've found the Vivi Nova to give the best draw. 1.8 ohms would be best for your eGo. Maybe someone will post on some Vendor that has good cartomizers. A cartomizer can be re filled and lasts about 1 week.
Here's a good price for the Vivi:
Vision MINI Vivi Nova Clearomizer Tank System
Spare Heads
Vision Vivi Nova replacement Atomizer Heads

When I first began vaping I ordered 30 samples in a very wide range of flavors- out of those 30 samples I liked 10.Once I knew the class of flavors I liked I ordered another 20- 10 I liked. Within 2 weeks had my fave flavors and saved myself much aggravation and $$. The other 30 samples I stored away and eventually found a couple of months later my tastes had changed and I actually liked them also.

Whats the difference between a cartridge and cartomizer? Is that where you need to constantly drip because I already no that I am not patient enough to do that. I like just filling it up and changing it when its empty rather than every few vapes...sorry if I sound naiive....I am really cause I'm new haha. :p

Different delivery systems:
atomizer/ atty- an element on to which 3-4 drops of juice is dripped- usually used to test new juices as it's easily cleaned.

cartridge/ cart- a container with sponge (filled with juice) that is used with the atty- juice drips on to atty from cart and is vaporized- outdated original "tank" system and prone to leaks.

cartomizer/ carto- metal tube with stuffing and element.

carto+tank- a carto with a hole punched in it. Carto is than placed in a glass, metal or plastic tank which is filled with juice- juice saturates carto by way of hole in carto.

Clearomizer- a plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing. The rebuildable clearomizers come with heads (coil+ wick) that can be cheaply and easily replaced. I include the Stardust and Vivi Nova in this class even though the Vivi is technically called a "tank".

Congrats on having started to vape!
Try not to over think the whole issue of "overdosing".
Just use the eGo continuously if you're feeling like you aren't getting enough nic and start having cravings.
If you're "headachey" and nauseous then stop vaping for a few minutes it will usually pass but remember to always drink lots of water!
WTA juices are not a "last resort" as some poster put it but a very useful tool for those who have a hard time transitioning over to vaping which it seems like you're having. I could help you with obtaining some WTA's if you think it may be necessary down the road.
It would perhaps help you to talk to someone via Skype so they may see how often you're vaping {or not} and what your equipment actually is.
If you can make enough posts as required by ECF {to send me a friend request or pm} and have an interest in talking with someone I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have on the withdrawal process, vaping and WTA juices, which have worked wonders for me!
When I started I was fortunate enough to have a mentor who "schooled me" on how to begin what to use and why vaping works so I'd love to return the favor he did for me......Stick with it you will be able to quit in this way!
There are also shows on "Stickam" like Elixirtv which you can watch and ask questions of the hosts so also check those out, they were very helpful to me when I didn't know what I was feeling or why.

Meagan:

What a great name, Meagan Faria, be a good name for an orchid: Meaganus Fariensis. Welcome to ECF. Since I was in just your position a mere two weeks ago and have now completely given up tobacco--after smoking heavily since Eisenhower was president--and using nothing but my new toy, I am perfectly qualified to give you expert advice on what to do and how to do it.

You have gotten lots of well-meaning advice but there is only one way to do this and only I know the one-true-path which can be found by following the directions on the two signposts just ahead. The first one reads: Nothing is true and everything is permitted. The second one: Press on regardless!

You have brought up a several issues of justifiable concern which I will address.

Cravings: This is a tough one at first, but there is a solution. You need a mantra, preferably a longish one, which you memorize and repeat to yourself obsessively whenever you feel the need. If you can associate it with a melody, all the better. The one I use, and the one I suggest is: "Here's a little song I wrote...", well, you know the rest. Now, as soon as a craving hits, I start humming that and repeating the words over and over to myself while I take out my new toy and puff furiously until I start to get dizzy. The craving magically disappears and now all I can think about is holding on to the shopping cart so I don't pitch like some goofy doofus into the meat display, all the while trying to avoid the incredulous stares of passersby. Needless to say, this concentrates the mind most wonderfully.

Overdosing: Don't worry about that, you'll know. See above.

A&A: This stands for Abbreviations and Acronyms. Keeping up with them will begin to occupy a larger and larger amount of your time. I suggest about half an hour of intense study daily, but the truth is they are a lot like Kudzu--do they have Kudzu up there?--they will multiply faster than you can learn them.

Carrying your gear: You will find that this is more of a progression than a fixed problem. Probably good to begin with something along the lines of an eyeglass case. Of course then you have the hard or soft dilemma. Many fine points to both solutions as well as many valid concerns. Study this issue carefully, read the blogs and the forums, research it thoroughly, then flip a coin.

But wait, there's more... As you become immersed in the nicotine vaporizer culture, you're carrying needs will grow. First it's the eyeglass case, then something about the size of a kid's pencil box, then a nice Garcia-Vega cigar box, then something more along the lines of a largish make-up kit, then maybe a medium-sized bass-fisherman's tackle box, then a trekking rucksack and finally something steamer-trunk sized, on wheels so you can tow it behind you.

Equipment: Here's where the serious decisions have to be made, and again this is going to change as you change. You are going to have to decide exactly where you want to fit in the Personal Vaporizer spectrum. This can be likened to a decision about a new car: Do want a family sedan, a Mercedes limousine, a four-wheel drive SUV, an all-terrain vehicle, a Big Daddy Don Garlitts nitro-methane fuel burning dragster (Sunday! Sunday! Detroit Dragway!... on CKLW with Martha and the Vandella's "Dancing in the Streets" playing in the background and your dad yelling at you "Turn that crap down". Any summer weekend, Motown, early 60s, but I digress) or maybe you'll want something more along the lines of a Stryker armored personnel carrier to amaze your friends and intimidate your adversaries. You pays your money--Boy, do you ever!--and you takes your choice. Over and over...

Me? Right now I just want something along the lines of a nice mommy-van.

Press on regardless.

Meagan,

"Hi! Ok, I know what you are going through. Each time I have quit smoking, one of the reasons that made me go back to smoking is, I COULD NOT SLEEP! Period. For some reason, my quitting triggered something in my system that wouldn't allow me to get more than an hour or two a night of sleep.

With the e-cig, don't treat it like you would a regular cigarette.

If you think about it, if you were using the patch system, that is delivering nic to you constantly. The trick with vaping is to not let the nic level get too low to trigger a crave. I can not tell you what your nic should be in the juice. Have several levels ready. I personally vape 18 and 24mg. If I feel like I am getting too much nic, I switch to the lower level. Pay attention to what your body is telling you, it will let you know. Upset stomache, headache, shakiness even racing heart.

When I first started vaping, I would vape and have a cig now and then. Morning about three cigs, vape through the day, cig after lunch, vape and then two cigs before bed, because I was AFRAID of not being able to sleep and the achy leg crap. Don't ask, I couldn't tell you why the legs ached, all day, every day when I quit smoking.

I let the e-cig do its magic. After a month of vaping and the gradual decrease in cigs, I am proud to say I am now 1 week cig free. AND I SLEEP like normal! Hubby says that this Twist and Nova are attached to me. BUT IT WORKS. The last two nights before giving up the cigs for good, I could only take two hits off the cig and had to put it out."

It's so funny that you mentioned the legs because I get the same tingly weird aches in my calves and back of my thighs when I quit...even when I'm cutting down. I think I might be the same as you in terms of needing the nic right before bed because that night I went straight to sleep. I started trying it again today but haven't recieved the higher strength yet...I still have a few cigs and just hope that the 18mg will get rid of that urge. Also my EGO C keeps leaking today which makes me scared to use it...and its super frustrating.

Your advice is excellent!

I've only been off analogs for I guess 3 wks so far but had to go back to the analogs due to a very bad reaction from the PG and the Chinese ecigs I bought at a local mall. My mouth was raw after only a few days and I don't know if it was my determination to use ecigs to help me eventually quit or the fact that analogs just smelled and tasted horrible and I didn't want to "stink up" my new car! I tried a well known brand recently and let's just say they didn't work... literally.

I'm looking for some direction so I don't make either mistake again. Don't have a money tree in the back yard (or maybe it's leaves already fell!) What I know I need... 1. US made flavored VG since I've learned the menthol is not as important as the nicotine and hand to mouth/something to do sensation 2. A great value, long lasting starter kit and some different flavor samples to try 3. Guidance as to what is the best delivery system. Sorry but I don't know the lingo yet.

At this point, I'm not sure what else I need!! I know I need something soon (like in the next few days soon) because I had to go back to the Chinese-made, mouth sore causing ecigs till I find something that works. Let's just say I think I just discovered it must be my determination because my mouth is raw and my lips are peeling (but I LOVE this vanilla flavor!). I'm ready to start this journey all over again and wish I had found this site sooner.

I wish all the other newbies well on their journey into vaping! As I discovered, it was easy for me to switch over, but no one should have to physically suffer for this.... right?

Congratulations and great job! I've been vaping for 3 months and my first set up was an eGo C also.

I started at 24 mg, used that for a month, the 2nd month I used 18 mg and month 3 (and currently) I ordered all 12 mg. I vape the 12 all day but if I have a particularly hard craving, I vape some 18 mg that I still have on hand.

You will find your groove, hang in there!
