Got to admit Ckc I really did laugh out loud when I first saw that photo :D

This is the FDA article with that photo in it :-

Now, now Crash, behave yourself :D
Hello and thank you! A photo is worth a thousand words!! LOL,,, This is a classic, however I saw one someplace where they are testing the e-cig in the lab chamber and the machine is inhaling the e-cig backwords. I can't believe I didn't save it at the time!!

If anyone happens to have it, please post it.

At 2:28 in the FDA video they are using an ecig without a mouthpiece, only the atomizer and battery... that's kind of odd... Don't know how/what they are testing there.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8PqKqlmO4c

Are you sure there's no cartridge? It's really hard to see because of the angle, but if you look real close at the brown part, you can see a slight color difference, like it goes from glossy to matte as you move toward the end. Idk, maybe it is just the atomizer, its so hard to tell!

I agree. My first (mistake) PV purchase was a SE. The atomizer is completely hidden by the battery and the cart.

Ok... you might be right... It appears they have removed the mouthpiece, but left the cartridge on. Still though, how is that holding it into the machine?

meh. If asked, the FDA would just say they gave the items to a photographer who didn't know what it was or how it worked and took the picture. And then claim they tested it the right way.

That explaination would not fly with an FDA auditor. They are very specific about the "Objective Evidence" that they will accept when it comes to any kind of testing submitted by a company they are auditing, including pictures that are being used to illustrate some kind of validation and verification.
