Today last week, 3 hours and 15 minutes from now I had my last cigarette. Yesterday after work I went to the vape shop and bought some new juice and reduced my nicotine from the 12 I started with to 6. I feel good man, really good about myself and I can feel that the shortness of breath has subsided at work as well. I unmount/mount 18 Wheeler truck tires and its strenuous on the cardio.

Since I started vaping I have ALOT more stamina. I have more energy and don't stink as well as a few more bucks in my pocket. Grant it the upfront cost of my vaping gear was pricey compared to a pack of smokes but with every puff I take now, that money is increasing little by little as compared to running out with every .....

I honestly thought I was a lost cause when it came to smoking, or damned nearly one, as I had tried and tried and tried to no avail to find relief from cigarettes. And we're all different as far as what willpower can achieve so what worked for some people may not work for others. Only vaping, I can truly say has curbed my habit and helped me kick it.

Naysayers may say I just replaced one habit with another, and that very well may be true but there is no denying the fact that I am NOT smoking anymore. That my energy level has increased as well as the savings that I will reap from vaping apart from smoking once I have recouped enough from not smoking to justify the upfront cost of the mod and supplies.

To ANYONE thinking of quitting smoking all I can say is "You can do it, and you dont have to suffer the cravings."

Vape on my Brothers and Sisters, and THANK GOD for you all and this wonderful community for all the advice, help and support. Have a kickass weekend!!!

Great stuff.
You may be the kind of guy who picks something perfect and sticks with it. Props if that is you :thumb:

Myself, I just love new gear :(
I'm finding it hard to stop buying gear.
It's become rather expensive...

Glad to have you here. Good luck :)

Ps. Take SteveS45s suggestion and get signing petitions.
Thanks

Your post rings true for many of us here. At one year myself now and that's totally amazing to me.
Absolutely rings true for me as well !!!! A bit over 5 years for me after smoking for 45+ years and tried so many other ways to quit. This just plain works......

Welcome to the ECF Ruben.

@Zutankhamun with my average weekly cost at ab average $70 there is not enough new or existing gear for me to ever spend as much on vaping as I did smoking.

I personally got through about £70 a week on cigarettes toward the end.
With a new mod costing me £100 (generally), box of cheaper tanks, mods and juice and shed full of nic Im racking up costs.

It is less than smoking but more expensive than guys I've seen who buy a £40 set and they are done...
I've been looking at a new setup that would set me back like
£350! I just can't stop. I guess it's lucky I'm skint.

The transition was so ridiculously easy for me I never ever missed a cigarette. So buying new gear is my new habit.

It's all good though. Love it

Oh I know :(
It doesn't work out. I was unskilled in my work = little money. Now I'm close to the end of my huge recovery (big thanks to vaping). So I haven't worked since I started vaping so it takes chunks out of any savings I had
Just got another paps v4
It's not that expensive because of how long it should last, and how good it is. but €114 is still a fair bit when your not putting back in the pot.

But it is lovely though ;)

@SteveS45
Do you mean you spend $70 on vaping per week or you spent $70 on cigarettes per week?

Yes that was my average weekly cost when I was a smoker. Albeit that was the final cost and cigarettes were cheaper but when they were less expensive I would buy 2 cartons at a time.

Congrats.

I broke a 38 year habit almost 4 years ago. Slowly reduced my nicotine from 18 mg/ml to 0 mg/ml 14 1/2 months ago.

Still vape 0 mg/ml. Don't ever want to be tempted to smoke again

I know your message is not directed to me but congrats to you as well.
I have always wondered about 0 nicotine. I've got a lot of nic. Something like 50/60 years worth (at my current rate)
I bought it all because I always thought that with 0 nic I may as well give up completely (all psychological).
Are you as satisfied? Nicotine is not really a problem so why did you feel the need to cut it but carry on vaping?
Just wondering.
Thanks.

I got tired of tge cravings to vape at odd hours.

I NO longer give a thought to nicotine.

I kinda thought of my nicotine habit this way.

"I don't want you to go away. I WANT YOU DEAD!"

I had tried to quit abd so many ways; i wanted Control of my life again.

Welcome aboard. I had no intention to (try again to) quit smoking when I bought my first vapin' rig. In fact, I was in the smoke shop to buy another pack, but the line was long so I was looking at the small array of vape stuff they had there. My interest and some research were already in my head at that point, and the quick math that I did also showed me the savings, even on the coil head/pre-mixed juice side.. So, nearly 2 1/2 years later, vaping I still am.. and like you (and more than a few people I know..) put it, I may have just replaced one habit for another, but I am not throwing away money anymore and I am NOT smoking.

    Good on ya, bud!
