I got worried then,
I'm glad you said that's how you feel about nicotine!

Cool, I always just wondered...
Do you think you'd smoke again even now if you didn't vape anymore?
Probably.

Back during my days using my Subtank Nano i was down to 3 mg/ml. Family invited me out to eat. I didn't take my vape gear. There was this heated argument between my cousin and his son-in-law. I was dragged into this screaming match and I wanted a vape terribly to relax and Chill. So i bummed two cigarettes and got hooked again abd my 3 mg vape wasnt cutting it. So i had to start over again at 12 mg/ml and never left my vape gear behind again. I should have been Nicotine free about a year earlier than i was.

I look at nicotine about the same way People in AA looks at alcohol "I just don't want or need the temptation"

I worked so hard to get nicotine out of my life. I NEVER EVER WANT TO GO THERE AGAIN.

I'm free and want to live the rest of my life that way

Today last week, 3 hours and 15 minutes from now I had my last cigarette. Yesterday after work I went to the vape shop and bought some new juice and reduced my nicotine from the 12 I started with to 6. I feel good man, really good about myself and I can feel that the shortness of breath has subsided at work as well. I unmount/mount 18 Wheeler truck tires and its strenuous on the cardio.

Since I started vaping I have ALOT more stamina. I have more energy and don't stink as well as a few more bucks in my pocket. Grant it the upfront cost of my vaping gear was pricey compared to a pack of smokes but with every puff I take now, that money is increasing little by little as compared to running out with every .....

I honestly thought I was a lost cause when it came to smoking, or damned nearly one, as I had tried and tried and tried to no avail to find relief from cigarettes. And we're all different as far as what willpower can achieve so what worked for some people may not work for others. Only Vaping, I can truly say has curbed my habit and helped me kick it.

Naysayers may say I just replaced one habit with another, and that very well may be true but there is no denying the fact that I am NOT smoking anymore. That my energy level has increased as well as the savings that I will reap from vaping apart from smoking once I have recouped enough from not smoking to justify the upfront cost of the mod and supplies.

To ANYONE thinking of quitting smoking all I can say is "You can do it, and you dont have to suffer the cravings."

Vape on my Brothers and Sisters, and THANK GOD for you all and this wonderful community for all the advice, help and support. Have a kickass weekend!!!
Just keep vaping. The prize is eventually you'll find vaping is an entirely superior experience to smoking. At that point you are immune to relapse. I gave up trying to quit. I saw a coworker with an itty bitty vape pen at work and he told me it helped him quit. I figured it was my last chance. He fronted me a setup. I gave him the 20 bucks it cost. Immediately I went from 25 cigs to 5 and stayed there with no effort. I left it there and spend 6 weeks learning how to vape and until I was certain I'd never stop vaping. At that point if I failed at going to zero cigs the worst that would happen is I'd go back to 5 cigs a day. That took the pressure off. Ending cigs was probably 80% less stressful because I was vaping. The rest is history.

I have to be careful. My father drank himself to death, a d i NEVER want to let anything get ahold of me again.

At the end my father would buy a 750 ml of Jim Beam whiskey and drank the whole bottle before bed. He crawled into a bottle and never came out.

Well its a sombre story you have told so i cant 'like' it.
I appreciate the reasoning behind 'no addictions for you' though.
Best of luck.

@RubenAlonzo - Yep, you're in good company here, with so many people who have quit smoking with the help of vaping. Most seem to have tried a variety of other methods to quit several times, too, before vaping finally helped them succeed. Personally, I know that the hand-to-mouth habit part of smoking was a major reason why other quitting methods failed for me, but vaping worked! Like you, I thought quitting smoking would never be possible for me.

My habit was a 42+ year 1-1 1/2 PAD one. Yet as of Jan. 14, 2014...I haven't wanted a single one, not even once. I like vaping so much better than smoking! And...like you said, not smelling like a stale, nasty ashtray is definitely nice, as well as improved health, for many of us, too.

So congratulations on your accomplishment! It IS a really big deal, that many times can only be recognized as such by others who have kicked the habit, too. You definitely have every right to celebrate and feel proud of yourself.
