As a PAD smoker for 18 years, and now been vaping for over a year now, I recently proved to myself I do not need an actual cig. In times of need or stress, if you used to be a smoker, you would have a cig and it would help ease your mind. Now, that most of us vape, we can use our PV's with higher strength nicotine levels to help combat the bad days.

My mom passed away yesterday, and after seeing this,(I was at her side) my first thought was to grab an analog, this was my mindset, and I came pretty close to having one. I actually told my wife I wanted one, and under the circumstances, she agreed. But, even during all of this, I didn't have one. I did, however take a puff off of my wife's 24mg PV. That, of course, is way to strong for me, but, it did take the edge off. I vape 8mg and was chain vaping that for a few hours. I am bouncing between 8mg for now, but, using 16mg for the bad moments. If it takes something like this to NOT make me have an analog, I think I know I won't ever need one.

Please accept my condolences and a lot of huge hugs. I am so sorry for your pain, there just aren't words.
I so get what you are saying though. I got my vaping stuff on Monday June 11th and had to put my amazing, wonderful old golden retriever to sleep on Friday June 15th. One of the hardest days of my life and I did not light an analog, she hated the analogs.
Again, I am so so sorry for your lose.

I'm sorry for your loss...... my best friend's grandfather passed late last year and I was about 4 months into vaping. I did grab a cig that day and then beat myself up that I was smoking when he'd just passed of COPD from smoking. I continued smoking for a few months before I felt like I even deserved to give vaping another chance.

I'm glad you resisted.... and I'm glad you posted... it will give others who are going through the same thing some motivation and strength to try to vape through it and to at least reach out to us here if they can't. Coming back here and saying "hey I screwed up and I'm back" was the best thing I ever did..... and I'm grateful that all of you are here every single day. I wish I had been in the right mindset to jump on here before I grabbed that cig.

I'm sorry about your mom, but happy for you that you passed that test without smoking a cigarette. I quit cold turkey in August 2010 and started back in January when I went through some serious family problems. So I know how easy it is to have just one during a time of stress, and that one leads to another and another and so on.
