Where the corn grows tall
I smoked for forty years and am very pleased that I was able to quit so easily by vaping. I vape 24 mg juice. If I think I want less nicotine, I just vape less rather than lowering the nic in the juice. Wean myself off nicotine? No. Why would I? I enjoy nicotine! I enjoy caffiene too and have no intention of weaning myself off that either. Both are relatively harmless. After smoking for forty years, I don't think any potentially deleterious effects of vaping are going to matter too much. If I do develop some lung problem down the road, who's to say what caused it?

Life should be enjoyed. Abstention is boring.

Strange......I am 44 years old and have been a smoker over half of my life. I have been vaping for over 2 months now. Honestly, I don't think I would know how to relax without smoking or now vaping.......I've never really thought about that before until now.
I am currently vaping at 30mg nic and have been since day one. I have TONS of juice all @ 30mg nic, but I think I'm going to start ordering lower levels for when I run out of the 30mg. Ditluting the ones that I have would really not be an option I don't think, because I would lose the flavors.
I think I will reduce my levels in 2mg increments, say, maybe a month at a time. Does this sound reasonable? Lisa- how long did it take for you to drop from 24 to 18 and was it fairly easy?

You could reduce the nicotine strength by buying more of the same flavored juice but at a lower nic strength. That's what I did when I discovered that 24mg was too strong for me. Bought 12mg, mixed it all equally with the 24mg, and ended up with 18mg, which is perfect (since I smoked ultra light 100s).

i actually started vaping because i loved smoking and went back to it just for the breaks that i got (after 5 years quit too, stupid, stupid girl). this is clearly a better alternative, particularly with someone who has respiratory probs like asthma and allergies, etc.
i chose to vape because i dont want to smoke cigs, but i chose to vape because i love the act of smoking, joining friends at the bar or at the back step on smoke breaks, or just taking a few minutes to myself, like you.
i am dont have to smoke cigs, and am not addicted to them anymore, BUT chose to start vaping because it would give me the same pleasures.
do i plan to quit? how can i plan to quit something when i just picked it up, for the sheer pleasure of doing it? maybe when i have kids, maybe when i am less stressed and feeling i need excuses to take time for myself, but for right now? def not.

Smoking was all about taking breaks for me as well...

Taking breaks from work.
Taking breaks from social situations I found uncomfortable.
Taking breaks from domestic squabbles.
Taking breaks before doing things I didn't want to do.
Taking breaks after doing things I didn't want to do.
Taking breaks to be alone with my thoughts and solve all my problems.

I could never quit vaping, just as I never would have quit smoking.
And if I have to quit vaping for any reason, I'll go right back to smoking without skipping a beat.

And as far as nicotine goes, I can take it or leave it, but I prefer to take it.
From what I have read the positive health benefits very well may outweight the negative ones.

Having more energy and being able to maintain physical exertion for longer after just a few weeks of vaping will probably get me to be more active. I can see that it might just get in the way. Why stop to vape? Hopefully I can at least put it off until retiring in the evenings - I nice glass of rum, some good tunes, and a nice vape at the end of a long day. Mmmmm.
