Hello All.....

All this cart filter stuff is no fun, but if you want the juice you got to get it to the atom bridge, well I filled a cart with ploy fill. A bit more then I should have, but it worked pretty good for a bit.

So sitting here wanting to vap some more with my new prodigy V2, but the cart filter got a little harden from the hotter V2. So I took a wire pull the filter out a 1/2 inch, and put some juice on it and it all that space really good.

I then just took the wire and pushed it back into the cart, so if you need a fast fix for the cart filter, you can do the same and keep on vapin. I'm thinking about doing it this way all the time, because then the juice will all get used and not go bad sitting. :D

Stupid question, what exactly is it that you guys are talking about when you say atomizer "bridge"?
Assuming you are talking about a 510 atty?
What do I look for if I want to check the "bridge"?

When I look in mine, pretty much all I see is a bundle of very thin wire
and at the bottom, something that looks like a ceramic ring that lays
flat on the bottom with the bundle of wire sticking up from the center.

Here is a picture taken from http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/polls/56499-510-atomizer-resurrection-mod.html.

The steel mesh is what we are referring to when we say to drip on the bridge.

Thanks for the link a picture, but I still dont see anything the looks like a "bridge". All I see is a little bundle of wire maybe a few millimeter high and
appears to be surrounded by a ring of some kind.
I also see wire around the ring.
Is that little column of wire in the middle 2 seperate pieces?

tunabubblegum,

The "bundle of wire" that you see is a wicking material (fiberglass I believe) that covers the bridge. The bridge is a piece of metal that is an upside down V shape. The bridge covers the ceramic bowl that the coil sits in.

The "ring that you see is more of the wicking material that surrounds the bowl, keeping it in place and supplying the liquid to the coil.

There is additional wick under the bridge that is made up of a different kind of material that looks like nylon rope but is probably a high temp fiberglass material. This holds additional liquid to replenish the wick as you draw on it. It may also help cool the vapor and add taste to the vapor as I noticed that when I remove that wick the vapor is hotter and less flavorful. Who knows? That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. LOL!

Hope that helps.

What kind of atty are you using?

Tuna,
There are unbelieveable amounts of info here. I spent 5 days reading...and I STILL didn't make a dent in the mountains of knowledge! May I suggest going to the New Members forum and clicking on
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...strated-guide-e-cigs-parts-1-through-6-a.html

Don did a GREAT job with this tutorial...you will learn tons about e-cigs!

Thanks for the suggestion, I keep wanting to read that but havent gotten to it yet.
Tryed out my new Prodigy 2V last night using 510 carts/atty, need to figure out how to keep the vapor from being so hot!! maybe 5V is too much for these carts, though they were recommended

I don't know if this would work w/high-bridge atts, but when I start getting low vapour and don't want to top up my cart yet I take the 801 atty off and blow out several times on the cart with the att still on. This is similar to dripping - it gets the liquid hidden down in the cart back up to the top and onto the bridge. If you have an auto batt though, make sure you wipe off the bottom of the battery end of the att before putting it back on the battery (if liquid gets into the battery it can short out the switch).

Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention that.
I use 510 atty's

No problem, I just assumed that you were using a 510. I thought I would ask to be sure. The wire that is standing a little less than halfway up your atomizer is the bridge we are referring to. If you were to ever take one apart, you would see that the wire mesh is sitting on a metal piece that is sort of shaped like an extremely wide staple.

As far as getting cooler vapor, you might want to try the 510 L2 atomizer. It's not made by Joye but it has the same threads as a Joye 510 atty so it should fit your Prodigy. They tend to run a little cooler.

Also, nhaler.com has some High voltage atomizers. I haven't tried them out yet and don't really know if they are designed to produce cooler vapor or just designed to handle the extra voltage but it might be worth looking into.
