Got my pack of filling from Walmart today and this definitely works great. Thanks for all the sugestions everyone.
I went to petsmart and got some fluval. I took an old cart, put in 6 drops of juice, inserted batting, topped of w/2more drops. Got 2 good draws than nothing. pushed the batting back down into the cart than back up to the edge, still nothing.I'm using a dse 901. Any guesses?
thanks sun I will add more juice and let u know what happens. btw I just opened a new blank, removed battng, put in 6 dps replaced batting +4 more drps on top...working fine.
Chuck--In my opinon, as well as many other members who have posted many times---without a doubt the best way to fill and refill a cartridge is with a syringe or an inkjet printer cartridge refiller
Hi sun, Katy sent me a 5cc syrge w/needle in my 901 kit. should i draw up about 1.4 MLs and then inject it under the stuffing and then top it off or is there a better way and/or a video i can watch
thanks again for everyone's help
Chuck
Without making you go into to much detail for something I could probably figure out with some searching, is there a particular reason why this is the best way? I have a syringe, but I have been using igetcha's (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...iscussion/5572-evo-user-tips-video-guide.html) method of pulling the stuffing out, putting drops in, putting the stuffing back in, etc. mainly just because that was how he did it in the video and it seemed logical![]()
My trick is,
push the inner cart just past the top with a paperclip
hold it there with your fingernail
now take that same paperclip, and slide it down the side of the wool and tilt the cart very slightly so the paperclip is on upper edge ... this allows air to rise up the gap
drip to fill. You can check the level in the cart by pushing the paperclip over a tiny bit, compressing the wool
This is SO fast, works perfect, and a paperclip can go with you anywhere
( although a syringe could too, I guess, lol )
I'm not sure how cotton would work compared to polyester. Don't know if anyone has tried it yet. The polyester doesn't ignite or anything so there really isn't a problem with fumes if that's what is concerning you? I'm also finding that the homemade cartridges I'm making are actually working better then the pre-filled ones I bought. I bought a 16 oz bag atWalmart for $2.67 and theres enough for hundreds if not thousands of refills. My partner suggested that wicking for oil lanterns might work best. He was concerned about polyester and says those are cotton. Anyone think that might be better?
We are awaiting our first e-cigarettes so it'll probably be quite awhile before we start experimenting with this type of thing. I'm taking it as a real good sign that he's getting involved rather than dodging the entire idea of e-cigarettes as he had been doing at first.
What about using cotton?
