I have had many people ask me the same thing. I got myself down to 0 nic and started gaining weight so I went back to 4. Until I find something else that suppresses the appetite and keeps my hands busy I cannot see myself quitting vaping. I am not a puritan and have no problems with coffee, ibuprofen, xanax or many other drugs so why should a little nicotine upset me? Unless the person asking is a raw vegan that never takes painkillers or drinks soda/coffee/alcohol then they have no leg to stand on IMO. Damn tea-toling prohibitionist mindset that lingers sucks IMHO... mankind has been altering their consciousness with various substances since before we had language.

I've been told that I'm simply replacing one addiction for another, and my reply to that is simply 'yes, I am but at least you don't have to put up with the smell of burning tobacco and my lungs are clear'. Next!!

That one pisses me off too. That's like somebody saying, "Well, I know you've stopped cutting your arms with broken glass, but now you've become addicted to stamp collecting."

People ask me the same thing. I tell them I love nicotine and "smoke" (I have to dumb it down because when I use the word vaping I get that 'are you a nut job' look). When I was smoking cigarettes, I had really no intention of quitting. I loved everything about smoking. But once I found a somewhat heathier (in my opinion) way to get my nicotine and feed my oral fixation, I was sold.

Maybe one day I'll quit vaping, but not any time in the forseeable future. I like it too much.

I still want to stop vaping at some point..but not today! This week has been stressful trying to fix up my childhood home to move into, meanwhile I still have my house to sell and empty. My hubby is sick and of little help. Yesterday I sat down for a break and grabbed hubby's cigarettes before I realized what I had in my hand and dropped it! I haven't had an analog in a year and a half!
So the urge or the habit is still there. I don't dare leave my vapor kings at home. One day I will quit..but not today.

Me too, MK! That was the idea behind for me behind quitting analogs - to lose ALLL the stuff in analogs. Just cause it's safer, doesn't make it safe and I think that was one of the 1st debates I got into on ECF - like would it be ok to vape while pregnant? No.

24-36mg refilled 5-6 x/day = 5-6 packs of analog nic. It's more not less.

With pkgs missing and slowed downed and running out of stuff - going back and forth to analogs and vaping - from personal experience - it can make you quite ill quite fast to drop from high to low/zero or an analog if you can't get your stuff by mail or service.

imho, for me, this crap has to go. and fast.

I hope you also find an easy way with the stress part. I understand. I got enough of it some days, myself.

Take care.

Yep, I was getting that a lot from my mom. I told her "I will quit vaping when I take up smoking again" That shut her up real fast! lol ;)

OMG that's classic!!! I haven't told anyone in my family YET that I am about to start vaping (I just ordered my kit yesterday), and am going to be quitting smoking. I'm sure because my parents (especially, who HATE that I smoke) are from the "older" generation, not understanding and not having done the research that I have done (both online and reading through ECF, namely this forum) will be on me like white on rice about this too! I'm using your line Jen!!

I say if you can quit ANY addiction, that is a good thing. I want to quit vaping when I am off cigs for good. I will still occasionaly vape but I dont want the addiction in my life. Things are much easier when you can walk out the door and not have to worry about weather you have what you need for your addiction pita!

Amen!! But, in the meantime, to those that don't "get it" let us live our lives....happily :)

i was sure there would be puffs of smoke coming from my coffin at the funeral... i got so tired of being defensive everytime i lit up that when my hubby was finally ready to look for a way to quit, i did the research and found ECF. We quit in July and already my mom is bugging me to quit vaping. My dad is just happy we quit smoking, considers our quitting his birthday-Christmas gifts. Both of my brothers and their wives still smoke and were very unreceptive to our vaping. i think they are afraid we will start nagging them about their smoking. i told them both, the only way to quit is when they are ready, no one can mandate that for them. When i offered them my old vaping supplies, they all declined, clearly they are not ready and need to find their own way.

So when i am asked when i intend to quit vaping, my answer will be "When they close the lid on my coffin."

After over a year off cigs, I can honestly attest that I feel better, breathe easier, and don't smell like an ashtray! Life is good and when my hunny and I are driving down the road in our RV I can puff happily away on my VaporKing instead of having to make excuses to stop so I can have a quick cig! I thank God every day for letting me find this alternative!

As a dear friend of mine used to say.... Rehab is for quitters :)

Personally - as a guy who actually quit smoking before eCigs came along, I think stopping smoking was the hardest of all the things I have given up EVER!! - (and I was no saint growing up - if ya get my drift - today I don't drink, smoke, do drugs --- and about the only vice I have left is caffeine - which in my opinion is probably worse than nicotine).

I wish eCigs were around a long long time ago - because I buried my mother due to Lung Cancer - and that is what drives me to help as MANY people save their own lives as possible - I know Smilin's personal story has the same ending for his 2 parents - Lung related deaths. Sigh - Anyway - back to the concept of quitting vaping...

The thing about stopping anything, or slowing down - is really just taking it one day at a time - and doing the best you can. There are no rights or wrongs when it comes to trying to quit anything. In fact with many addictive drugs or alcohol, in treatment centers - they HAVE to ween patients off, so they don't get hurt (or hurt others) while detoxing.

While we can't make any health claims, one just needs to look at the ingredients of Analogs - and leave it at that!!! Some studies show as many as 4000 chemicals in cigarettes. Nuff said.

So if anyone asks when you are quitting - say this - "I quit inbetween vapes!!" :)

I have smoked more of my life than not and I have quit many, many times but it wasn't till I discover the e-cig that I realized it's just part of me and as long as I can vape I won't go back to analogs, so I don't plan to quit vaping at all. I love it and probably will vape the rest of my life, I do think that eventually I will cut down on the nic but right now I'm stuck on 24mg to 36 mg I would like to cut that down gradually.
