I was a 1-1.5 PAD smoker for about 24 years. On February 9th of this year I was introduced to the eGo by a local vendor with a stall at a flea market (thanks Brenda at Misty Mountain Vapors!) who graciously spent about 45 minutes of her time explaining this whole "vaping" nonsense to me. I was instantly intrigued at the prospect of trading in my nasty cigarettes for this cleaner, healthier alternative and, truth be told, I had been entertaining the notion of quitting for some time. Even so, I could still feel a gnawing urge to hurry this little encounter along so I could get back to my car and light one up.

Once I had been shown the basics of handling and using the eGo device, I was offered a spot at the tasting bar. I had been walking around the market for about an hour, so I was really, really craving a cigarette at this point. The first juice I tried was a chocolate strawberry. Then I tried the Summertime. Then I tried the Fire in the Hole. Then I tried four or five others. Or maybe six or seven.

At some point in the midst of all my puffing I suddenly realized that I didn't want a cigarette anymore. My mouth tasted of strawberries and coconut and cinnamon, and yet... I didn't want a cigarette, but... holy hell I was buzzing like a 15 year-old with one of mom's pilfered Pall Malls! What sort of voodoo was this woman peddling?! And so, without further ado (trust me, there was absolutely ZERO ado), I purchased my trusty eGo starter kit, complete with two eGo-C 1100mAh batts and a couple of CE5 clearos. I also got 3 of my favorite juices, filled a clearo with one of them (with Brenda's kind instruction), and happily vaped that sucker all the way back to the parking lot.

On February 9th, 2013, approximately 2 hours before I bought my very first PV, I had already smoked my farewell cigarette without even realizing it. I understand my results are probably far from typical, but I wanted to share my story with everyone here nevertheless. At this point, a mere 2 and 1/2 weeks later, I literally feel like I have a new lease on a healthy life. Every day I wake up, I feel 10% better than the day before. My taste buds are alive again, my sense of smell has returned, I can take a deep breath in the morning without feeling pain in my chest, my energy levels are through the roof...

I'm done with cigarettes. Not because they were killing me, not because I felt like I had to... but simply because this is better on every conceivable level. There's a half pack of stale Winston lights sitting right here in front of me, the very same pack I had in my car that day at the flea market. I pick it up from time to time, flip it open, and smell it. And it stinks. It stinks just like I used to. I'll throw it away eventually, but for now I'm having way too much fun blowing delicious rings of fragrant vapor at it.

I think Mel Gibson said it best as William Wallace: "..."

Well, yeah, I think ya'll get it. Happy to be here. ;-)

Thanks!

I think half of my brain has wanted to quit for a long, long time but the other half just wasn't having any of it. I absolutely loved smoking. I don't drink or use drugs, so I always thought of it as my one guilty pleasure. Vaping affords me with all the pleasure that smoking provided and has the added benefit of eliminating the guilt! After seeing my transformation, my girlfriend has joined me and she's been smoke-free for over a week now. She's in her mid-30's and has smoked on and off most of her adult life. I've also sent 2 buddies from work to our local shop and a third is extremely interested. He keeps the little drip-tip condom I gave him in his pocket for when he runs into me outside on "smoke" breaks so he can sample whatever I'm vaping... it's really hilarious. I might give him one of my ego batts when my second Spinner arrives this week. Yes, I'm already testing out the VV waters. Not shopping for mods just yet, though... baby steps... lol

Seems as though RJ Reynolds is losing customers by the day down here in the heart of tobacco country (with Chimney34 right there on the front lines, you go!). I love it!

Oh man that is great to hear! Congratulations on quitting; but now the real fun begins... ego's are like a gateway drug... then come the high voltage/VV/VW/big battery mods haha. But seriously, stick to your guns and vape on sir! :vapor:

Oh believe me, I know. I've been soaking up information like a sponge for the past couple of weeks and my interest in vaping as a hobby seems to be accelerating at a breakneck pace. I mean, it took me all of a week to decide I wanted a Spinner. Got it and loved it, immediately got another. I've already tried Stardusts, CE4/5's, Kanger T3's, all at various resistances, and currently trying to decide whether or not I like the EVOD (love the design, but I really enjoy a warmer vape, so I don't think bottom coil is for me). Next week I'll have a Vivi Nova on order and the Kanger Protank looks promising too... ARGH!!!

Mostly though, I'm entirely focused on quitting the cigs for good right now. I don't want to cloud my resolve with visions of shiny new gear too much at this point. Yeah, so ask me next week how THAT'S working out for me.
