So I have been vaping for a couple of weeks now and I am really interested in getting a mod but I am torn between three choices:

VAMO v3
Tesla
or SiD

I know that fasttech has a vamo kit for $58.85 with 2 panasonic 18650 batteries and nitecore i2 charger but, I really like the way the tesla looks however the kit I found for it is double the price of the vamo @ 119.00 plus tax at my local B&M store. I like the SiD because it looks very clean with just the single button and I think I read somewhere its possible to use the eVic body kits on the SiD.

I could really use some help trying to figure this out anyone have any advice?

Functionality wise, it should all work the same.. I think all three of them have similar boards.. It's a matter of what looks good to you.. In terms of durability only time will tell, but i heard the tesla is built like a brick.. In my opinion though, if you dont mind how it looks, i would go for the Vamo v3 for the price, good charger and batteries..

If you want to experiment with VV~VW without too much of an initial investment, you might want to look at the iTaste 3.0. Yes, it's a self-contained, 800mAh unit with an 11 watt limit, but for $35, it's a good way to find out if VW is for you. I started out that way, love VW and now have a SVD coming, ordering a Vamo next week, and will buy a MVP 2.0 and VTR when they come out.

I love my Vamo V3... got one in stainless. Feels good, looks good, love the brushed stainless, its just nice, and it really exceeded my expectations in both build and performance for the price.

I actually bought a second one, so I have two Vamo V3 units in stainless. Its the only mod I actually own two of the same. I also have various mech mods and a DNA 20 DIY build.

For the money, I don't see why you shouldn't buy one, even if you are interested in other mods.

For me, I like the screen, I like the removable top cap to get better access to the ego and 510 threads. I like that I can use that top cap as a lock nut for larger attys like a RDA. Screen is great and menu system is a big improvement over the V2. It just works...

It's been slightly overwhelming trying to start figuring out his whole vaping thing so much information to digest especially when it comes to mods and then you throw mechs and RBA's on top of that. This forum has been awesome with just the sheer volume of good information available.

Thanks for all the opinions everyone I'm pretty sure I have decided on the VAMO just because of the value attached to getting a couple of good batteries and a decent charger for such a low price. Still have my eye on the Tesla just because I really dig the way it looks the same with the i Taste 134 definitely want to see where that lands in price v performance. Thanks again.

I don't have any of the three, but my first "real" mod was the sigelei v3 telescoping flattop and I have never regretted the decision. it is beautifully made, sturdy, and it's self-contained versatility(no tubes to keep track of) is unmatched. want small, put in a 18350 and it is easile put into a pocket. want an at home all day beast, put in a 18650(or stacked 183500s). I have vaped this HARD for 6 months without a hitch. the new v5 version even will charge a cell phone. it is an ohm meter when you don't have one and the single button menu is easy to pick up and master. I would get another in a heartbeat if i needed to replace it. luckily, I don't have to. oh yeah, got a whole kit for under $68. I was going to get a provari but with the money I saved I bought a slew of clearos , cartos , and atomizers which helped me settle into the vaping I like best.

Here's a contrary view ---

I didn't like the Vamo. It's too tall and way too heavy. Even in short mode, it's heavy.

There are a zillion debates about which is a better vaping machine. All the imported tube mods with vv/vw are very very similar when it comes to function. Many use the same internals.

I happen to prefer the one button and lighter models. I think the Sigelei 18350 Zmax is adorable....and it comes in some nice colors, should that be appealing to you.

Good job for coming to this forum. Many of the above posters had very good advise. If you are importing a mod most of the Chinese mods are very similar chip sets. So your biggest concern should be price as well as how you think it looks. I also recommend only buying stainless steel devises because they will not look horrible after a month. Of the Chinese mods I own of the SVD, Segelei Zmax and the Vamo off fasttech the vamo v3 was my favorite. I like flush mods the telescope just feels cheap. I also only use 18650 batteries because I do not like changing it for 2 days and it barely impacts the size.

A word of caution. Do not go crazy with Chinese mods. Many of my friends have gone from broken vamo's to SVD to evic's and these devices are nice because they are lower initial cost. But at some point you will realize I could have just got a Provari. Fasttech makes Chinese mods worth it. But some people are paying $99 for a svd which I can not understand. Always factor that for $140 you can have a blemished provari which will last for life. Mine works as good as the day I bought it and is still my main PV.

Thanks for the continued input after weighing more options and doing more research I am going to get a couple i taste vv 3.0's to get into vv/vw I like the form factor and the charging by usb. I want to take some time to taste more juice and find a good rotation of flavors and then get into some big battery mods in a month or two.

I feel the 3.0s will help me figure out what and how I like to vape quickly without having to worry about external batteries and chargers and such till I am ready to make a larger investment. Keep the suggestions coming I like to do research on everything I can so I can make informed purchases in the future.

I have a vamo 2 stainless and it's great except for the fact that the threads are really soft (borked my 510 with a protank). Go lightly, use thread lubricant or maybe even an adapter or airflow controller to protect your vamo and it should work really well for you.

I'm thinking the innokin mvp 2.0 will be my next mod fwiw. $45 to be up and running is a great pricepoint.

I really hate to be the "Negative Nancy" or to fall in to the "I know everything trap" but I would advise not to get the Itaste 3.0 because its an ego that is only 800mah. Consider also that the screen burns up your mah also and you are left with very little vaping time maybe not enough to get through a work shift. When I tried it I was left thinking "how is this any different then an ego that is half the price".

The whole changing batteries scared me also. It felt too involved and complicated. It has its drawbacks because you can not usb charge it. But the upside is this. First the standard 18650 battery is 2250 mAH which means it will last 3 times as long as a Itaste 3.0 which is 800 mAh. Second changing a battery is much less involved then charging on the go. You can have several batteries with you if you are traveling and in my case I have no need to charge anything ecig related for a month. Most importantly rechargeable lithium batteries slowly die. So if you do not replace your battery then your devise slowly becomes weaker and weaker over time and every charge it will not hold as much charge on the next use making your devise less useable.

The SVD is very well thought out. Variable voltage and wattage with individual locking power control buttons, 3 click on/off, vented and removable drip well top that sits flush with the 510 connection (helps support larger tanks with 510 only connector so there is less wear and tear on the connection), fire button serves as a rough battery level indicator, telescoping tube, etc. The Provari, while still an excellent device, is becoming outdated and needs the features listed for me to be interested in one. I realize there are some people who like one button setups, but for me it's a deal killer unless I can pick the unit up dirt cheap.
