Hehe, this is actually funny. They were chanting that in USSR too. It was a cuban revolution slogan -- "Patria o muerte". Between that and t-shirts with Commander Che, americans are very strange.

I remember those lines. Here in CA we had odd/even days depending on our license plates and there were still lines. I use to get my baby daughter up dressed, toys, bottles, snacks and go wait in line to get gas whether we needed it or not just to make sure we had a full tank incase we weren't able to get gas the next time. As well as being the next car to get gas and the station running out of gas.
Almost turned into a riot when they ran out! We would spend little time getting in a line then to be turned away. Hoping we had enough gas to make it to another line and try again. Yes, we did the odd/even thing too.
Florida heat was murder sitting in the car waiting for the line to move. Couldn't use the air because it used more gas. Some people would just turn their car off and push it.
I remember not being able to swim for 1/2 hour after eating because i would get cramps and drown.
I remember with my first baby, normal birth, I had to stay in the hospital for 4 days. Knocked out for delivery. Saw my son a few hours after the birth.
My second, normal birth, 3 days. Out for the delivery. Saw my daughter within an hour through the nursery window.
My third, a caesarian, I was sent home after 4 days. Awake with a spinal for the delivery. Saw my daughter as soon as she was pulled out!
Now, after 24 hours most go home.

I remember when you could smoke in your hospital room. I remember when physicians would walk into your room with a cigarette hanging from their mouths. Times sure have changed.
I remember when I didn't have to squonk when I vaped, I had tanks that leaked or did not feed the carto, or I had to drip and made a mess. I also remember when I had a ecig battery that didn't last and hour and I had so much stuff that didn't work that cluttered my house. I don't miss those days

All gas stations where full service, I still miss hearing the "ding..ding" when you pull in to get gas, and I always had a clean windows
All grocery stores had sack boys to carry out and load the groceries in your car.
Boys had .22 rifles at 12 and were allowed to go off on their own to hunt rabbits.
My favorite activity was going to the roller rink and having huge fuzzy pom poms on my skates.....
