OH lordy...I remember that!
Midnight showings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show when everyone dressed up, took props and and yelled the *talk back* lines to the screen.
That song "convoy" back when it was released.
Remember those stickers like "give me liberty or give me death" - I think they were called cbgb's or something like that.
You've been here long enough that you're a ...... now too comrade.![]()
I remember the vast majority of what you all have listed.
And I remember gas at 25 cents a gallon. And I remember gas wars where stations near each other would try to have the lowest price in the area.
I remember not being able to wear pants to school and that our skirts could be no shorter than the middle of our knees or we would be sent home.

I remember in 1974 when gas jumped from .39. Also remember the lines a mile long to get gas. We could only buy gas on certain days. Then the limit was 5 gallons. This was in Tampa, Fl. Sat for 2 hours to buy gas. My work let us off so we could go and get gas.
I remember those lines. Here in CA we had odd/even days depending on our license plates and there were still lines. I use to get my baby daughter up dressed, toys, bottles, snacks and go wait in line to get gas whether we needed it or not just to make sure we had a full tank incase we weren't able to get gas the next time. As well as being the next car to get gas and the station running out of gas.
I also went to the Rocky Horror from around 1987-1991 Some of the best times I had with that cast and crew.
... though I always just assumed the dressing up and acting out was still goin on.
I remember not being able to swim for 1/2 hour after eating because i would get cramps and drown.
