that would freak me out.. try calling lol. ok maybe not..
haha to funny tho they might not have taken it as a good thing and might have complained there purchases are not private lol.
So I work for a bank as a card fraud analyst. Basically I monitor charges that post from the credit side of our debit cards and make sure no one has stolen our customer's information. I call on charges that "look funny" to make sure it is something to customer is authorizing.... I am "big brother".
Yesterday I had a card pop up that had several charges from a few vaping websites. It was obviously them since they had a history with different vendors for a few months now. But I was so excited to "find" another vaper that I almost called them to tell them that I vape too lol.
Thought I would share, I found some humor in how excited I got about that haha.

I make a long string of purchases about every 4-5 months. My bank calls me each time and ASKS if they were approved and we go through each and EVERY purchase. I find it extremely irritating to discuss what I bought with some stranger on the phone. I try not to be so put-off when it happens, and I tell myself that if I ever get my card hijacked I may be grateful that someone is looking out for me. But, I'll admit that I do intend to change banks because of it.
You probably bank with us lol. Some customers don't care for what we do, others think it's the greatest thing. Typically the ones that like it are the one that have been hit with credit card fraud in the past. The truth is that credit card fraud is the fastest growing crime in the world because it is so easy to do. You can buy the supplies to create your own credit cards from ebay for about 300 bucks and off you go, just need to get some card numbers. Before my department was created my bank was taking hits at about 3-7 million dollars a month and we are not a big bank like BofA or Wells Fargo. The truth is, we don't care what you are spending your money on, as long as it is you doing it. We give our customers back every penny they lose to credit card fraud but in the end the bank is the one taking the hit, this is for all banks, and losses like this are what drives up fees and drives down savings interest rates.
Anyway, I digress, kinda went on a tangent haha. I tend to hold my company and job close to my heart so it's hard for me to understand someone not wanting their bank to protect them.
It is still is surprising to me how small this circle is. Outside of knowing what a basic Ecig looked like, It was only a couple of months ago that i discovered PV mods. I've only been vaping for a month but I outside of the store i purchase my juice from i havent seen another vaporite anywhere. Maybe we should all secretly pick a location, date, time and then flash mob our PVs. =)
Viva La Vape!
Okay, I believe you love your job and I have been banking at the same bank for almost 3 decades, so I'll stay... but I still don't like going down my shopping list to discuss every purchase I made. I am waiting for them to call again since I have gone stark raving mad buying vape gear these last couple of days
It could have been my acct you were checking! Have them call and we can be sure![]()
