Frequetly Asked Questions on How to Charge Batteries

Lithium-ion (Li-ion, polymer)

Avoid deep cycling. Each cycle wears the battery down by a small amount. A partial discharge is better than a full discharge. Charge more often.

Do I need to apply a full charge?

Partial charge better than a full charge

Should I use up all battery energy before charging?

Deep discharge wears the battery down

Do I have to worry about “memory”?

No memory

How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University

A partial discharge reduces stress and prolongs battery life. Elevated temperature and high currents also affect cycle life.

[re: the bold - on my above answer of @1 1/2 days for the istick 30W - that's recharging when the battery bar is about at 1/4 charge to avoid full discharge. ]

HI all , just want to clear a query about the how long a 30 w eleaf i stick battery should last on a full charge.
i have heard some say they last for days, others one day.
i know it depends on how often you vape and at what wattage. I am a low watt user at 5.8 and i vape about 4ml a day
and my battery last about 14 hours.
A friend of mine vapes about the same amount, but at 14 watts and says his battery lasts about three days, is this normal ?
as he seems to think mine should last a lot longer than 14 hours at 5.8 watts. and i should return it to the shop.
i would like to know how many hours other vapers are getting from their isticks before i return it.
thanks for any advice.
It should last at least double that if not more. I go through 2 days with 10-15 ml before it needs charging

I think something that is missing from this discussion is that we all vape a little bit differently. If you are chain vaping at higher wattages, your iStick is not going to last as long as someone else vaping occassionally at low wattages. My 30W tends to last 6-8 hours, but I'm a heavy vaper and I vape at medium wattages. My MVP 20W only lasts an hour or so longer and it has a 2600mh battery. I seriously doubt both are flawed, or that either one is.

that does sound a lot for a 2200 mah . what wattage are you using to get the amount of time out of it.?
may be mine is a duff one then ?
i spoke to a women who had a 20w one and i asked her how long her battery lasted on a full charge and she said i dont know ive only had it a month and have yet to charge it. WHAT! she then went on to say she has three puffs every morning on it.
Still a bit in the dark as some say mine is about right and others say i should get more out of it.:confused: thanks for all the replies . think i need a few more to know for sure if i should return it.

I'm not sure that's what others are saying though. I use mine constantly and I get about 12 hours from it. How often are you using yours? How many puffs per hour approximately?

that sounds about the same as me, i get about 14 hours out of mine at 6watts .
I think people have different day night hours , i start vaping about 9.30am and i don't get to bed until 2.30 am the following morning, as i like to stay up late.
my battery is done by about 11.30 am. then i charge it ready for the next day.
maybe some people start vaping later in the morning and go to bed a lot earlier, so it would seem to them that their battery lasts about two days.
Also as dms25 says use only 2ml a days , i use about 4ml.
i think i will stick with it as i really love my istick. just got a bit down hearing how all others get a lot longer battery life than mine. thanks guys feel a bit better that i don't have a duff one as i first thought.

I'm using one at 10-12w and I can squeeze 3 days out of it, but I charge it every 2nd day to be safe. However I only vape 2ml a day...

I just did 3 weeks work out of my normal schedule where I started work at 8am so vaping from 8am till 11pm (usually I start vaping around 2pm). I was using 4.5ml a day at 11w average and when I put the Istick to charge at night there was usually just one bar left on the battery meter.
