When I go to buy batteries and a charger, how do I know whether to get the regular batteries or the flat top batteries?
I don't see that anywhere in the specs on any of the mods that I've looked at so far. All I see is the battery type like 18650, for example but those come in both configurations. How do I know which ones to buy?
Mooch's Blog is the go-to source on vape batteries. A couple more blogs that may be of help.
When choosing a battery for a regulated mod, pay particular attention to the brand and the model's specifications, in particular the "amp rating" (maximum continuous discharge rate) and the capacity (mAh rating). Preferred brand names are Lg, Samsung, Sanyo, and Sony. Choose the battery that will supply the wattage needed for the wattage settings that you will vape.
You don't need a 30 amp battery if you'll only be vaping at 30 watts. A 15 amp battery will do just fine supplying the wattage you'll need, and you'll get more run time per charge with 3000 mAh than just the 1500 mAh of a 30 amp battery.
