I posted this in another category, but maybe in the wrong place cause I don't think anyone ever saw it....

So I have been using an eGo-C for a couple weeks now and I just replaced my first atomizer.... first one tasted bad for an hour or two but finally broke it it and was fine. Now I'm on my second atomizer and this thing is being a nightmare... Going off of taste here but the first drag is usually ok.... any drag after that tastes dry and burnt with no flavor at all.. which leads me to believe no fluid is getting in. I let it sit for a while and the first drag is ok again but quickly gets nasty to the point of being un vapable. Its like the fluid isnt getting through the wick or its flowing through it very slowly. What the heck is going on with this thing? Also, and this is probably a dumb question, buy why does it need a wick? why cant the fluid just flow directly to the coils through the spike? I disassembled theatty as per Sammy43 in this post and cleaned everything... I also ran a pin through the wick to make sure it wasnt packed to tight or something.... which made it fall out but I got it back into place just fine... and it seemed to work quite a bit better for about a dozen drags.... now its back to having the same symptoms I started out with.... Please help! )c;

The idea is to thin the juice. If you are putting water in the tank... try for the smallest single drop you can get.

Or 1 drop in the juice bottle for every 10 ml (for example). Use the smallest bottle you have. If its a 3 ml bottle, just 1 drop max, for example. (although that's 1 drop per 3 ml). Anyway... you get the idea. No more than 5% water to thin it. Don't ruin your juice. Use a different mixing bottle if you can.

Rinse the atty if it has burnt taste in it if you wish.

I cant think of another thing to try... I have tried two separate tanks, three separate tank covers/lids/whatever their called... two separate attys... old, new and both as is and freshly cleaned, two separate flavors/brands of fluid from two manufacturers, one of which came with the eGo-C, caps loose, caps tight, atty and tank aligned and not aligned.... and when I take apart the atty its mostly dry and a little burnt looking... when I clean it it looks like new... if I let it sit for a few hours I get one good vape then its back to pungent dry burnt flavorless chemical scented smoke... let it sit for a few hours get one more good vape then back to nastiness...only thing I can think of is something is up with the wick.... but what? its like the fluid soaks through eventually very slowly but it cannot flow naturally.... I'm running out of hope )c;

Well, until you or we get it figured out, you could drip directly on the atty.

To drip, hold a kleenex at the screw end and blow thru the open end in to get any oil out that some attys are sent with. You will only need to do this with new attys and some attys do not have any oil in them. Screw the atty into the battery. It must be a manual battery as they are sealed so juice can not get into the battery which would ruin it. If you have a button, you have a manual. Drop 3 drops of eliquid on the atty and put on your drip tip. You will be able to take 3 or 4 vapes. Then to continue dripping, drop 2 or 3 more drops on the atty and continue on. You can either take the drip tip off to do this, or just put the drops in thru the Drip Tip and give a gently puff to make sure the drops get down to the atty. You will not need to clean the atty between flavors as the atty will be pretty dry after 3 or 4 vapes.

hi Spy_64..i dont own a eGo -C but others eGo-T, LCD & VV etc..i see yr problem issue to do with the set up of the "cartridge and atomizer" rather than the atomizer..if U experiencing "dry & burnt" it look like no liquid getting through to yr atomizer..so to remedy yr problem..this what U have to do..get a new cartridge,without removing the cap to refill(if yr cap removed,will leak if U do not replace it back properly,factory fitted is sealed properly..so dont break the seal)..jammed yr cartridge into the spike of yr atomizer..take it out and try to remove the flap that U just punctured with a tweezer(if U cannot get it out,still ok to proceed,better to as this flap can block yr liquid flow)..now using a syringe with needle attached inject less 1 ml as not to overfilled yr cartridge(always leave a gap) if U dont have a syringe,drop by drop into the chamber.

now look at yr cartridge(the end U fill ) U will see that the cartridge is not round or square..but oblong..U need to match the atomizer..in such a way yr channel for the airflow(the longer side of the oblong shape) is not obstructed..the atomizer plate is like a figure 8..if the plate of yr atomizer is set say at 12 0'clock..u need to slot-in yr cartridge with the air-flow channel @ 3 & 9 o'clock position.. firmly jammed yr atomizer and cartridge with a solid "click sound"..if U do not do properly..will leak ..hope i am clear to U & this will solve yr problem..regards mafig

I don't know anything about the spike. Someone else will have to answer that one. Most attys just screw into the battery. The drip tip is so it doesn't get too hot on your lips. You could try the cone, but it might get too hot. Some old time vapers would 'tailpipe', meaning they didn't use a drip tip on the atty.....as a stop gap, I suppose you could buy a package of those rubber thingys that go on pencils to make them more comfortable for a long writing session. I don't know the proper name of them.

Thank you everyone for steering me in the right direction. Still not sure what the deal was... but after everything ultimately I ended up destroying an atomizer and a cartage... I think Mafig was on to something with the tank...it seemed just fine but after toying with another tank some more something happened and it started working again... mostly. It still has a really funny smell but the flavor is there now too and although I can taste the flavor and know fluid is getting through once again there is still a bit of a funny chemical taste... the flavor masks it mostly but the bottom line is its working again (after like 12 hours of fiddling with it over the course of two days) and I finally got my fix.... I've had the e-cig for like two weeks now and just barely stopped carrying analogs with me so for something to go wrong this early in the life of the product and not being able to fix it and not have a backup can make the situation seem pretty extreme. So once again I want to say thank you everyone so much once again!

Glad it worked out. I also have the ego-c and am fortunate to have had zero issues with it other than some minor leaking at the tank lid (replacement caps are coming).

I have some Boge 2.0 cartomizers waiting for me at home, just to see how they work for me. I do like the tanks as they make refills and changing flavors so much easier.

Glad it worked too. Wish we knew more about what it was so we could help the next guy/gal.......

It is always a good idea when dealing with tanks and other gizmos, to have some standard atties or cartos or other stuff around. Even the carto fans should probably have a standard atomizer around just for testing new juices and such.

Good Luck
