Got my provari in today and started vaping my $200 collection of juices I got in earlier than the provari (first time ever). Using a Joytech 510 atomizer and it is working flawlessly. I know that atomizers are supposed to give the purest flavor, and I'm getting insane throat hits and I could feel a pleasurable thump in the back of my throat, but I was underwhelmed by how little taste there was with all the juices.

I tried a couple ECBlends with a flavor shot and i'm just getting a slight HINT of the juices flavor. I also tried Boba's Bounty and I can barely taste a sweetness with a touch of tobacco. I couldn't get any of those graham cracker tastes that everybody was saying, just a hint of sweetness on the exhale. Same with all the other juices I've tried. I imagined a swirl of flavor all over my tongue and I would be able to pinpoint all the subtle flavors, but I couldn't even describe the primary taste of the juice if I never knew what was labeled. Maybe I eat too much flavorful foods and that is what is causing it?

I don't think it's your juices or your taste-buds, but your eCig. For me at least, the 510 systems always make my flavorful juices almost flavor-less. (Unless I dripped. Don't have the time or patience to mess with that all of the time... lol)

808 systems aren't what they used to be and IMHO surpass the 510's totally nowadays.

Higher voltages can 'muffle' the flavor of your juices also.... turn the voltage down and see if there's an improvement in flavor.

Don't 'power vape' either... wait a few 'hours' between vaping sometimes just to 'test' your new juices.

... and yes, eating lots of garlic/onions can mess up your buds for a day or two... don't expect much from your juices on those days either.... ;)

What blondeambition3 said also. Dripping can sometimes narrow down a problem. Like she said also, power vaping numbs my mouth sometimes, but I get the feeling your issues didn't just start after a night of vaping. VV, man I gotta get me some of that. My variable is from 4.2 to 3.7 volts, and the adjustment is time :)

i'm still clueless about the adapter sizes. Does the 510 vs. 808 vs. 9-- vs. 3-- make a difference in taste? I only read that the draw is different?

Have you just started getting off the analogs? I have noticed my taste buds are fried, and sometimes I taste the juice, sometimes I don't, and it is slowly coming back. Drink lots of water and avoid coffee or soda, and that should help expedite the process.

Yes, today is the day i stop analogs. I already smoked around 10 cigarettes today, I didn't think about the fact that my tastebuds could be very "unresponsive" because of that lol. Hopefully my tastebuds wake up in the next week or two.

Yes, 808's produce more 'flavor' (and have every bit as much vapor & throat hit as the 510 systems - as long as you have adequate nicotine content in your juices and the appropriate PG/VG ratio)... the 'draw' is about the same, at least to me. Some 808 systems may have an airier, cooler draw than 510's, but I have some that are the same. I've found the difference is the Vendors, for the most part.

I dont buy into the 510 to 808 having better flavor I have both and think it has more to do with wick.. for clearomizer the bauway ce4 kicks .... I cant stand cartos they all taste like filler..... I dont have a did or any ss wick units yet but the phoenix rebuildable has by far the best flavor .. you should grab 1 with premade coil/wicks (since your new to it) they are cheap and easy to install

You certainly have some sort of flavor block going on. Boba's is one of the strongest flavors out there.
Do you have a sinus infection, allergies or a cold, perhaps?
Also, if you are dehydrated, it can cause flavor block. I know it's weird you can taste food, but can't taste vapes, But, it happens to most of us from time to time. So, make sure you are drinking more water.
Then, try this. Try vaping first thing in the morning before you have had anything to eat or even brushed your teeth. I found there were days when I could taste vapes first thing but then nothing the rest of the day (other than food and beverages). Other things that seemed to help me was to chew cinnamon gum. It seemed to wake up my taste buds.

I have this same problem. Every juice I taste, no matter how much extra flavor there is, it just doesn't taste THAT flavorful. I've tried lots of different equipment, thinking that was the problem, but I think it could just be my taste buds now. I do still smoke the occasional cigarette (not often, just when drinking), and I usually eat food that is very salty or spicy. Not sure what the deal is but I've learned to kind of accept it. Can't seem to do much about it anyways.

Cinnamon gum. I'm going to try that or cinnamon hard candies. I vape a lot and I always have water around but don't like the dry mouth thing so I have Carmel and life saver type hard candies a lot and i also have quit caring a whole lot about vaper flavor since I can suck a candy. I need some cinnamon candies now. I guess I should probably get sugar free.
It seems like expecting too much from vape flavors is a exactly right on. In my world when I envision some event and have expectations I'm always setting myself up for disappointment most the time. I mean, when do things really go as planned anyway? Just take it for what it is, get used to it, and there is a lot to get used to, and remember the primary goal is to kick smoking. I used Nicorette gum. That tuff is pretty nasty. They've come out with better but, I didn't smoke. I chewed it or 10 years or so...middle of the night. Gum gum on the bedpost, on te pillw, my clothes in my hair. The point being, it wasnt beautiful but it worked. Vaping will work and it's I n t e r e s t I n g. Don't or get to read the the posts about " my vape smells like urine" is it a deal breaker? Not or me. Nothings perfect

try an atomizer more dedicated to flavor like a 901. everything you use, from the different types of cartomizers to different types of atomizers along with wattage/voltage really make the juice taste different. obviously it's not going to go from disgusting to wonderfully delicious, but it really does make a difference. something like a 901 will bring out the best of it's flavor imo.

edit: also, try your juices first thing or early in the morning, that's when your taste buds have "reset". at nite you tend not to taste things as well

Don't expect to really appreciate vape flavor until you've been away from cigarettes for at least a few months. It takes time for your taste buds and more importantly your sense of smell to recover.

You could try the strongest flavors such as cinnamon and mint/menthol in the meantime. Tasty Vapor has very potent versions of both.

Volts x Volts / Resistance

Try from 5-12 Watts stepping up in .2 increments until you find your sweet spot. Right now Im running 3.3 Volts (Provari) on a 1.8 SV306 and the flavor is overwhelming. Some juices seem to burn out and taste like garbage real quick and others can tolerate higher temps.

For me, Gandalf tastes better in 70/30 at lower temps and has a fine line between delicious and burnt syrup. Some of my tobacco flavors seem to do better in the range where Gandalf starts to fizzle.

Then you haven't tried them all (The manufacturer makes all the difference in the World)..... and as for the ce4's and what have you, those taste awesome for about half a day for me. Not all 808 cartomizers taste like 'filler' and yes I've had some that do/did... that's why I didn't use them for a few years, but tried them again & things have changed, products change. There's unfortunately too many eCig products of variable quality out there.... don't have time to address this entirely right now.... company showed up. :smokie:

I'm about 4-5 months into vaping. Quit tobacco day one.

I've gone through periods where I couldn't taste my juice. I've gone through periods where I could taste my juices just fine. I've gone through periods where it all tasted pretty good. I've gone through periods where it all mostly tasted like crap. After a while, everything sort of settles down and the taste becomes more consistant, but for me it's never been overpowering. The "taste" of eliquid is typically just an afterthought, and mostly I don't get a lot of taste unless I blow it out through my nose. It looks silly, but it works fairly well if you want some flavor.

There are certain flavors that will have stronger taste than others, regardless of how much of it the vendor puts in. Lemon comes to mind as a strong flavor, but there are others. The equipment can make a difference as well, but I wouldn't spend too much money searching for the holy grail of flavor because IMO it will be a minimal difference. Find some equipment that works well for you and go with it.
