I have just started vaping. I'm two days without a cigarette. I seem to want one for most of the day. At about 5PM, the urge goes away.
I think I may be vaping the wrong flavour. I've only one Tobacco(24mg), and I'm sparing it, as I am waiting for juices from Honeyville. The other flavours that I have are nice, but only 11mg nicotine. I think I'm craving a cig because 11mg is not enough for me. I do hope Honeyville shipment is not too long in getting here,( I ordered 18mg nicotine)...and now, I just read that the juice is not great...no flavour, no vapour? That's going to be very frustrating!

For those who just dropped the cigs and replaced with vaping, did you not miss the cigarette at all? I must be doing something wrong, as it still seems as if there's something missing for me.:(

I started vaping with a 21st Century ecig that I picked up where I bought my cigarettes. But I was still smoking while vaping for at least a month before stopping smoking completely. I was down to 5 analogs (from 1.5 packs) a day at the end. Everyone is different when it comes to quitting smoking. There will be cravings when you first stop smoking. Just hang in there. Some people still have the occasional cigarette; or use snus to supplement vaping.
If you haven't with your order from Honeyville, try getting a sampler pack (different vendors offer anything from 5 to 10 bottles of 3 to 5mL) to try different flavors.

Hi SharonCC,

I actually went a couple of months having 1 or 2 cigs a day. That helped me not stress about it. I knew I could vape all I wanted, but smoke when I had to. Not having the stress helped me to put off the smoke. Don't stress too much about it, just let it happen. The best advice I got, and I wish I could remember who it was, was simply that, vape all you want, smoke when you have too, and one day your going to wake up and say, "I haven't had a cig!".

Now, having said that, I'm strictly tobacco flavors as well and the next best (I'm really not sure which was best! That combo got me off cigs.), was when I was struggling I talked to David at freedomsmokeusa.com and he said, "get some 36mg Pall Mall. When you feel the urge for the cig, take a few hits of that and you won't want a cigarrette."

That was the last time I had an analog. Anybody that needs a close to analog tobacco, I tell them to get FSUSA's Pall Mall.

Good luck!

It happens. I have been vaping since the beginning of april but didnt fully stop analogs till april 25th and I still have my moments. If Im having a particularly bad moment I take a hit off my hubbys cig and then Im fine. That works for me because it reminds me how nasty they are. Your not the only one out there :) Another thing I do to help my urges is when i feel like I want a cig I just go outside and sit with my pv and vape, it helps me to do at least part of my old habit.

Even if you're just cutting back on cigarettes for now, that is a step in the right direction!

I have not wanted a cig since day one but after reading so many other people's experiences I know I got very lucky in finding hardware and liquid that I liked right away. Seems that alot of people go through several before they are happy with the process.

I'd definitely invest in some other liquids if you're able. I'm waiting for a honeyville order too but it hasn't even shipped yet with the overload of orders they got. My first order from cignot got to me by day 3. If it makes the difference of whether or not you crave a smoke it will be worth every penny trying another liquid.

I was a pack a day smoker, I'm using 18mg liquid. If I remember correctly I found a chart on the site faq when I ordered my volt and cartos that said what strength they recommended according to how much you usually smoke. Hang in there, your health is worth it!

When I started vaping, I had a serious craving for an analog about 3 days in. Personally, I kept vaping, the craving went away, and I haven't craved one yet.

As for the OP, like an enabler, go ahead, have one. Nobody said it's e-cigs or analog, not both. You're heading in the right direction. You've gone 2 days without.

It could also just be habits that are triggering your craving. Try to vary your routine a little. That might alleviate some of the cravings.

As everybody else has said, you've done well so far, and it's ok to have a cig if it helps your cravings.

You definitely need to increase your nic. As for honeyville, they are okay juices but nothing to rave about. As for craving a cig, I never have.

I'm just a month into vaping. I was a pack a day smoker for 30 years. I had a little problem at first wanting the smoke but that has just sort of died out. I think the thing that has helped me is Pineapple! I love the taste of pineapple so thats the kind of juice I have been using.
I also see the Amazon in your Avatar Beautiful!!! I have 5 here at home.

I still have about 2 or 3 cigs a day... which is a lot better than the 1.5-2 packs I was smoking, so I don't worry about it.
I don't need to smoke anymore, it's still nice to have a couple a day. (the after dinner one is the hardest for me to give up)

As others have said, 11mg is low, too low. 24mg is nice, and 18mg is okay sometimes too.
Using 24mg, I don't crave (cigarette) nicotine at all. I smoke simply because I like it once in a while.

SharonCC, I started vaping on a 510 basic and various nic strengths -mainly 18 to 30. I continued to smoke analogs for a few weeks, less as time went on. But the first thing in the morning and first break at work were a must until a I got an ego and some 36 nic. That ruined smoking for me. Now I vape higher nic until I get off from work, and then drop it to 18mg for the night. I have not had the urge to smoke since, in fact I don't like to be around the smoke. Which is seriously weird after 30 yrs. Flavors are subjective and you will just have to keep looking. You may love Honeyville. Vermillion River has a free trial deal for shipping, and great reviews.

SharonCC, I started vaping back in early March, and my three pack per day habit dropped to nearly zero very quickly. Shortly before my starter kit and e-liquids arrived in the mail, I'd stocked up with several cartons of cigarettes. My cigarette consumption is now down to a couple per day, and a pack lasts me more than a week. I figure that's close enough for gummint work. Besides, I invested in those analogs so, dagnabbit, I'm going to finish them. But it's reached the point where I consciously have to light an analog instead of vape.

It took me about 3 months of vaping and smoking until I was finally ready to put the cigarettes down. I had to get the setup and the supplies all ready and then I went a month or so smoking one in the morning and one at night. I haven't had any cravings at all and my last cig was back in October. you're doing great! My friend loves vaping but she still has to have about 3 cigs a day. Don't stress about it. If you want a cigarette have one!

Nothing strange about having a craving for an analog. I've been without for a little over a month now and I have been craving one most of this week. Also like you I am in complete conserve mode and am down to just a few ml of juice left and here in Belize my options are very limited to find more before my shipment arrives. I hope it's soon because I'm starting to notice all of the withdrawal symptoms like the cravings and edginess (to put it kindly my wife would probably have another word for it).

Also realize that there are many other substances in analogs than nicotine and since you just recently quit, any of these other alkaloids could be the source of your cravings as well. If that is the case it will soon pass but I would agree with the others that you probably need more nic.

Honeyville shipping can be a little slow if they've been swamped with a sale, but I don't think you'll be disappointed in their juices. They're made fresh and sometimes need to steep a couple of days but all the ones I've tried range from good to excellent. I like their cowboy smooth, mimosa and tiramisu at 80/20.

It took me about a week to get off the ciggies. I didn't force it and it was easy. Like others have stated, I wouldn't worry about burning a couple, at least until your order comes in.

Hello, Sharon.

When I first started vaping, all I had was Strawberry since I fell for the mall-kiosk 510 "deal". I was lucky that the juice was 24mg. For the first month I didn't even want to be near analogs, but once I started having atty issues (the juice was SO thick!) I started to crave. Then I ordered from Vaporbomb and cignot.com for my vaping necessities and it slowly went away. If 18mg doesn't work, try 24. I hopped down from 24 to 18 within three months of vaping. :vapor:

Thanks guys...it helps to know that others went through the cravings as well. I really don't want to buy cigs, as having just one or two doesn't tend to work for me. If I have a pack on hand, I'll smoke more than two or three. I'll just keep going, until my 18mg gets here. Ordering juice is always going to take awhile for me with shipping, as there's nothing available that is relatively close to me. We're going away for a few days next week, and I'm actually feeling grateful that I don't have to smoke. It's such a pain trying to find a "comfortable" place to smoke.

Lion6255, you have five Amazons! Life at your house must be very busy!!! LOL!
