Sooo..

I've been vaping for a little over a month now..was a 2-pack-a-day Camel 99 smoker..

I had a long road trip in a rental car, and bought an ego with a clearomizer to minimize the nic-fits on the road without smoking in the car.. it worked amazingly well - no stops for smoking at all - and I did 1100 miles in one day on the way back!
After we got back from the trip, I still had a carton of regular smokes, which I used interchangeably with the ego, and when I ran out of regular cigs, I started using the ecigs entirely..

In the meantime, I had ordered a vamo, a protank, a couple evods & lots of fast-tech juices, and a liter of RTS 60mg PG / unflavored nic-juice, just in case doomsday came before I was done vaping..

On about day 7, I just couldn't take it anymore & bought a pack of Marlboros..
I smoked one, and it was just awful.
It really felt like I was licking an ashtray.

So I know I'm not ever going back to regular smokes - there's just no way I could smoke the 3-4 packs it would take to kill off my taste buds again..

But I'm freaking jonesing for that flavor I *used* to get with my coffee and a Marlboro.. and I think I'm vaping for too long without being satisfied.. sometimes my pinkies and my gums feel a bit numb..I can puff all day with the vamo and the pro-tank, and still feel like I'm missing something..

I've tried both hangsen and dekang marlboro flavors, and a local shop's ry4..

also tried an n-joy king, which didn't taste that great, but did seem to go well with a coffee in the morning.. I kinda rationed it to 5-6 full puffs with my coffee over several days.. the thing I remember about the N-joy was that I would actually put it down and forget about it for about a half-hour after a few puffs.. I'm just not doing that with the Vamo or the Evod, even with 24mg nic.

So I'm wondering if I should just try cutting the PG 60mg nic juice I have down to say 36-45mg (like the n-joy king) without any flavoring & try that? Is VG from wal-mart or locally going to make the juice feel weak, even at 36-45mg ~ish?

I'm a bit confused about your nic question.
36 mg is considered the highest amount you can safely vape. That's what I think anyway, maybe someone else can chime in & correct me if I'm wrong.
So are you planning on cutting down your 60mg to 36mg? I believe 45 mg would be considered way too strong.

Have you been vaping on the pre-made liquids? I assume your having troubles with that.
You can try vaping 36 mg unflavored nic & see what you think about that.

In my daily rotation I mix a little flavored liquid with unflavored 36 mg. That seems to help knock down the 1st thing in the morning cravings.
There's a lot more in cigarettes than just nicotine that causes withdrawal symptoms. Do some research & learn what you can on ECF, Youtube, etc. There's plenty of information on what could be wrong. I think you just might be over vaping too.

Your not alone. Perhaps somebody will come along & give you some useful shortcuts. I don't know how to do that.
Sorry I couldn't have been more help to you. I just wanted to welcome you to ECF & give this thread a bump.

It is fairly common, I think, for people to sometimes need a higher nic level during some parts of their day (first thing in the morning, for example) than other times of the day. The highest level I would recommend is 36 mg.

Personally, I would suggest that you find a vendor where you can purchase some e-liquid that is premixed at 36 mg, rather than trying to dilute your 60 mg liquid yourself, as you are relatively new to this scene. You might want to look around in the DIY forum (and after 5 posts you should be able to post in that forum) to see if there are any tips or something to be aware of to make sure that you get the level you think you are getting, and tips for working safely with the stronger liquid.

Although a lot of people think they want something that 'tastes' like their analogs used to, I have also read that many times trying something completely different - like a fruit flavor - ends up working better. Just a thought to consider.

Also, not everyone is able to completely quit right away and might keep smoking 1 or 2 a day for awhile, though you indicated you tried that and didn't like the taste at all, so that doesn't sound like it would be a good option for you. :)

actually ... yes plenty of folks in the uk vape 45 mg nic ... you are currently vaping chinese e-juice which many have moved on to us suppliers but still plenty of folk that still vape the chinese juices

so yes you can cut your juice to 45 mg and lots of folk vape unflavored and i recommend going to the general e-juice part of the forum to learn more

as far as vg goes it would probably be a good idea to get the stuff from the same place you got your nic from

recommend eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator to help with mixing

The njoy kings only come in 36 and 45 mg as far as I know. I find the 36 too strong, so the 45 sounds like insanity; but obviously there are people out there who get along just fine at levels that high.
Just be careful you don't overdo it and get "nic sick". Be mindful of increased pulse rate, light-headedness, headache...

That is exactly what worked for me. I was a 2.5-3 pack a day 30 year smoker. I wasn't able to get off the analogs until I found something that I liked BETTER than them. I would suggest you keep playing with juices until you find what you love. GOOD LUCK!!!

As an ex forty year, very heavy smoker, I have my own theory on this subject. Years of smoking had so deadened my taste buds and sense of smell, that I don't think I actually tasted the tobacco in my cigarettes for years...maybe decades. Cigarettes were just an addiction. Now a good cigar on a hammock overlooking the Caribbean...that I tasted. But the 2-3 cigarettes every hour were just for nicotine and all the other chemicals.

Anyway, over a year ago, I started vaping some generic tobacco flavor at 24mg. After a couple of months that started tasting awful, so I started sampling juices and ended up with some light fruit flavors that I could vape on a regular basis. However, none of them ever satisfied my desire for a "real" cigarette. I did manage to cut my nic level down to 9mg.

A couple of months ago, I decided to try just plain unflavored juice. 70/30 at 9mg. Now this reminds me a little of what I remember a cigarette was like...which I guess is no flavor at all. I still use the fruit flavors, but more for an evening desert. The unflavored is the "flavor" I use the most.

If you're looking for a more naturally tastign tobacco for those cravings, give NETs (Naturally Extract Tobacco) as try.

Big Spirit

Analog Tobacco eJuice [ANLGTBCELIQ] - $4.99 :

Also, the Protank offers a cool vape; if you miss a warm, anlog type experience, try the iClear16 or iClear30s for a tighter, warmer draw.

Many folks also like the RY4, which is a tobacco with caramel/vanilla flavorings to get them off the cigarettes.

I start my day at 24mg then the rest of the day at 18mg. You might want to try a little higher nic, like 26mg or 28mg? I haven't found something that 'tastes' like a cigarette to me yet. Or at least what I remember a cig tastes like. Its coming up on three months without one, and I don't even have a dirty ashtray to lick (G)!

I know that my taste buds have rebounded, and the "taste" I remember from analogs was really a fantasy - smoking a Njoy king mostly confirmed that - it was harsh, but really no real flavor, yet it was still kinda satisfying..

In yesterday's vapemail I actually got some Hangson red marlboro @ 24mg & that was actually kind of flavorless like the Njoy, and it kind of has an "ashtray" aftertaste which is really close to what I think I want, as crazy as it sounds..

If I could afford a stack of N-joy kings (every day), I think that would satisfy the cravings - just trying to get there in a less expensive way - I've got an e-roll coming in the next couple of days, hoping I can load that up with either this Hangsen red stuff or perhaps a higher-nic blend I make myself & go back to 15 minute "smoke breaks" instead of pulling on the protank/vamo like a hair-o-win.-addicted monkey.. (not sure why that word is censored?!)

may have to order some WTA juice and try that as well..

Smoked Camels here too.
I vape a light draw and found out via hindsight the 24mg wasn't doing it for me.
When I was using the 24mg I experienced pretty much exactly what you describe and know exactly what you mean when you say you have a lingering something-is-missing feeling. Seeking an answer, I came across a thread here where another described it and they said 36mg did the trick for them. Applying their experience led me to go and buy some 36mg tobacco juice and viola, I found what I felt I was missing. Haven't had that lingering annoying feeling since. ( THANKS AGAIN ECF!!!! - and yes I did yell that :) )
Also you mentioning the N-Joy ( 45mg ) and that doing it for ya makes me think it really might be the nic level rather than the flavor.

Some may suggest Desert Ship b/c it is supposed to be more Camel like. I tried it at 36mg and it would have worked, but after trying both I preferred the 555. I also liked the RY4 but the store I was in only had it in 24mg and I needed the 36mg to clobber the persistent, lingering monkey. YMMV.
I'd really recommend you purchase some rather than mix it. Nicotine is toxic so having full confidence in your DYI knowledge base before trying to do so is an absolute.

Hi,

For the past 2 years I've gone through a fair number of e-liquids ranging from 0 to 36 mg/mL; as I was vaping 36 up to 4 mL a day at some points I started to experience excessive heart rate and the numbness that you described in your first post. I guessed that was my limit and started reducing the nic content. The first point I want to make is that nicotine is a rather strong poison and should be treated like one; I don't dare to think what 60 mg/mL juice would do to me, but hey, while some people can take higher concentrations very well, some can not. If you plan on going higher nic just keep in mind that in the close to 100 range a 1mL spill on your skin might be fatal. You can (and should) always do more research on the effects of nicotine and symptoms of overdose. My apologies if this is already old news for you.
Second point, there's a chance that your nicotine addiction has actually been enhanced by the use of high concentration liquids. Non stop puffing is just a way to keep the levels constant so you don't get the craving, but neither the rush. And your nicotine tolerance simply will increase with dosage.
Regarding the tobacco aftertaste, the thing that came closest to it for me was the Pipe Sauce (Shire Malt / Long Bottom Leaf). It has a fine pipe tobacco flavour which I didn't really find in any other liquid (the e-liquid market is not really that vast in my country, so what we got here is mostly Dekang, Hangsen, HG, Joyetech, eCig, Liqua and FA of the premade and Capella/PA diy stuff). As Tadeus said, try as many flavours as you can, you will eventually find one that suits you better than going 100% nicotine IV, lol. And my suggestion is that you get a good drip atty for trying out lots of liquids, they come rather cheap, are easy to clean and they put out all the best (or worst) that a liquid has to offer. Get a guy at the local store to set up a SS mesh wick and decent resistance coil on a RDA for your Vamo, then try out stuff. Even some of the juices you had before might surprise you if used on a different style vaporizer.
Good luck and safe vaping, and sorry for the wall of text :)

maybe you should give 'likings' tobacco or marlboro flavour a go, i use the 18mg tobacco flavour an its just fab, ive mentioned it on a couple of other threads cause no one seems to have heared of it. its cheap an gives a brill throat hit an goes up to 32mg for around $3 per bottle. you could probably add a tiny bit of your nic juice to boost the content but try it as it is first. 8 days today for me on this juice. ive tried a blue star morbro which was awful and a dekang tobacco (not sure if it was just tobacco flavour or a branded cig flavour) which was just alright but not very satisfying but ive used them for a couple of puffs and then gone back to the likings one. yes i may be a noob and have not really gotten a chance to try out many other brands but with me being so happy with this one, im not even sure if i need to. x
